Will someone just issue the aldercreatures a Blackberry and be done with it?
- OT: here we go again, didn't someone try this before and get spanked.
Per the Area 2 Deputy Chief, WC's will now immediately notify the F*&^^%n ALDERMAN along with the Commander and Deputy in all Homicides, shootings with personal injury, CSA's and violence directed towards prominent individuals (Celebrity, politician, clergy etc...)
When is this nonsense of reporting to Politicians gonna stop!!!!!!
We've heard this is going city wide for some reason. And while we appreciate that we are an arm of government reporting to politicians, we have to ask, "What's the point?"
We can't recall the last time we saw an aldercreature at a shooting scene, so what purpose does this serve where an e-mail or fax at a later time wouldn't suffice? We seem to recall more than a few internal Department documents finding their way from aldercreatures' possession into the hands of assorted gang bangers, so what purpose would instant notifications serve? It's not like they're going to be leading an anti-violence march at the scene. It takes them months to pick up the balloon - stuffed animal - empty liquor bottle memorials as it is. And the only marches they're interested in are the ones that make them some money or secure them some votes.
Just another line on the case report.

I got a good story for you. I think it was last year. Ald Willie Cochran of the 20th ward on-viewed a shooting at 62 and Kimbark. Pointed the car out to U of C police. What happens? Refuses to point out who he saw shooting and refused to go on paper. RWOC and misdemeanor gun charges for the (2) guns in the car!

All notifications this year will be to the morgue.....another gangbanger dead. There are enough of them killing or trying to kill someone. How many dead this year? And if they ain't dead,how many paralyzed? Does anyone realize that as a city, we are not that protected from all these shootings?

I seem to recall an alderman turning the screws on a previous 025 D/C upon being notified that one of his prized constituents was under arrest for a felony charge. He also wanted all relevant documents faxed to his office where any number of eyes could have access to confidential information.
Had he succeeded in erasing the arrest, which almost was the case, who would be the fall guy when evidence disappeared and a false arrest suit appeared in its place on the 6 o'clock news? Your friend and mine, Mr. Patrolman.
Someone of exempt rank needs to put a stop to this outside interference before sworn members, cases, victims, the public, etc., are compromised beyond repair.
As a midnight watch commander I would make my call around 3-330, where I am at, the alderman all leave their cell and home numbers, so I always make sure to call and let it ring until it's answered. It actually brings joy to my night. Wouldn't it be interesting if their numbers were posted so the members of their ward can have 24-7 access to their alderman..It's only fair the alderman want to know immediately, so the people of the ward should have the same right...
We should never have to notify a politician. They must be kidding.
What ever happened to Chain of Commnad? I am the WC...my next level is the DC...I notify him/her and I should be done. They want the gold star...let them notify whoever they want, I have other things to do then spend time on the phone with an alderman.

015 has been doing it for a while now. I was filling in over there when I saw pre-printed fax cover sheets for each alderman and a district map color coded to identify which ward pookie got shot in. I laughed because one of the cover sheets was made out to Ike Corothers and someone changed the fax # to The Bureau of Prisons fax#.
Since when do we release any report to any non-Department entity? Obviously, another affirmative action hired, merit promoted gold star who cannot read or understand the orders! Bring back the Fifties!
Don't the Aldercreatures find out BEFORE we do? I thought there was an Aldercreature some years back that said that they deserve raises because they are the 1st line of defense. Why just if the crime is aimed at some people(Celebrity, politician, clergy etc...) Isn't every citizen equally important to them? Their phone numbers should be given out and get calls for EVERYTHING that happens in their ward. Call them to tell them that pookie isn't listening to his mother, or coco didn't go to school.
Aldercreatures again thinking that we need them. It is really time to change the number of alderman and vote them out and get some new ones that might really make a difference in this city.
We need to start grassroot efforts to get cops & firemen to run and get out and do the work that is required to get them elected so they can tell the real story of what goes on.

Better yet rumor is that they will soon be attending CAR meetings. I thought that was info for Police only?
I don't know about all the districts, but my place only has the alderman's office numbers. That means a flunky gets the message off of a machine if it's outside business hours. Who knows if flunky gives the notification to the alderman, or what they do with the info.
A suggestion: no names and home addresses pending notification of relatives. That should keep you out of legal trouble. Also, whether or not someone is in custody, say we are still working on identifying the offender, no good leads yet. After all, the arrest can occur after you hang up the phone.

When was the last time an alderman was successful in getting the community together to solve a crime. A remember last year a 11yr old girl, who lives across the street from her alderman was shot in the head as she played outside in front of her home. She is now a vegetable. The alderman could not get her own neighbors to talk to the police. Alot of the neighbors were outside at the time. The case still remains unsolved.
Notify them for EVERYTHING! Shootings, domestics, burglar alarms, gang fights, curfews, gas, TVB's, every f....ing thing. then, remember to pit them in the narrative as being notified, but not on the scene.
Include in the notifications that on the FIRST WATCH when many shootings occur:
the Districts have NO RAPID RESPONSE CARS
the Districts have NO 0-6 CARS.
the SQUADROL IS DOUBLING AS A BEAT CAR.
only TWO SERGEANTS ON THE STREET AND A P.O. ACTING AS THE DESK SERGEANT.
MSF, TRU and Surgical Strike Force are GONE OR DOWN WITH ARRESTS FOR ONE ROCK, ONE CAN OF BEER OR PISSING ON THE STREET.
Make sure that the pissed off lieutenant who knows that there is no chance of making captain with Shortshanks and J-Fled around, make sure he or she tells the alderman what has happened to the district police in his or her ward.
Make sure that the aldermen know that there is nothing we can do to prevent these shootings we just don't have the manpower and our hands our tied.
The aldermen shouldn't be able to deny knowing what is going on in their wards.
FYI - 025 is supplying another Alderman with a foot patrol, the newest is at Armitage/Pulaski, not sure who the Alderman is but evidently they heard Suaraz has had his own on Fullerton for the past year. With this new addition, this another 2 man car down for what. Someone really needs to ask the Aldermen why they need their own foot posts at these locations. Last few days we have been in a backlog for virtually the whole shift, sure could use another car to answer some jobs.

It is a mystery why Alderman want stats on prominent people assaulted, I reported several years ago the Lawndale predators (14&Spaulding Hunters/Jones/willis) had started a new attack aimed at celebrities and as they prey mainly on women, Halle Berry and Oprah were their first targets.
Halle Berry used to live on the north side but had moved to Hollywood.
It is possible the appearance of a "cop" fake or real to be determined, who said his name was David* may have scared them away from Oprah but not Mike Jordan, Horace Grant and other Chgo Bulls players.
Dennis Rodman appeared on Judge Pirro, April 15 (a repeat) and verified that Mike was subjected to a lot of nasty "stuff" when he was in Chicago from all quarters.

Damn it. The Aldermen are not the Police. Why the F%$# should we or the white shirt Commanders have to answer to them. Throughout my career I've witnesses Aldermen telling Police supervisors what they wanted are expected, and the white shirts did it. These Aldermen are not your friend. They will burn you in a minute for an extra vote. We need to start investigating some of these Aldermen.
Dana Alexander is a lie. He holds meeting with his people and promises cars, radios, and fucking new PDT. We have yet to get a damn thing.
