Could this be the end game?
- McCarthy is gone August 1 and Wysinger will be the new Superintendent.
In the next few weeks, City Hall will play up how terrible crime is in Chicago. Expect the Times and Trib to headline any murder drama that pops up.
Rahm told McCarthy that the Cease Fire partnership was going to happen and Garry told Rahm he would have nothing to do with it. Garry refused to be at the press conference and said he would not tarnish his reputation by taking part in this. Rahm was forced to make this announcement today after the NY Times ran a cover article about Chicago's homicide rate. Rahm again called McCarthy and basically begged him to go to the press conference. McCarthy told him No Way! Rahm was himself supposed to go to the press conference but sent a lackey because he didn't want to answer questions about McCarthy's absence.
McCarthy has basically dared Rahm to fire him. If Rahm's reporter-supporters can get the public screaming about crime, then McCarthy is gone August 1.
This ties in perfectly with the points we made in the post right below this one about Wysinger being placed front and center while McCarthy is nowhere to be seen and Rahm isn't around for the announcement that the Chicago Police Department has been forcible partnered up with gang bangers.

The only reason Wysinger is now being placed 'front & center' in this whole ridiculous plan is because that's where the City of Shitcago has always placed a high ranking black public official in front of the media (cameras and microphones); when the city is doing
something so glaringly fucked up, none of the white

then will turn it over to the high ranking black 'company man' to absorb all the potential fall out.

Promotions to Sergeant and Lieutenant have also been put on hold until after Labor Day so Wysinger will be able to control all of the meritorious selections for himself and for City Hall. City Hall was upset with McCarthy's current merit selections and hopeful meritorious promotee's have been interviewing this month and last month for the merit spots. City Hall thinking is why promote Garry's merit picks when he will be shortly gone and the current mayor will own Wysinger like both Mayor Daleys did with their police superintendents.

It is City Hall who is the abject failure in the running of the CPD, as well as the stupidity of letting thousands of highly skilled officers, Detectives, ET's etc; retire without making them some type of offer to retain their skills, such as part-time employment, like Major Corporations are doing in hiring back valued, experienced employees. Many other bad decisions have been made in the past 3 decades, and it's almost like, when given 2 choices on what to do, the City incredibly picks the wrong one, every time.
EVERY decision the CPD makes is Political in nature, and City Hall does not have the concerns of the Law Abiding Middle class Taxpayers in mind at all when making their decisions. Their decisions are all based upon the same old, tired, failed Chicago democrat Machine politics, pandering for the minority vote while selling out those who pay their salaries, and tricking the taxpayers into thinking they are actually doing something when, in reality, they are just once again raiding our Wallets with their crime-busting schemes, like Speed Cameras. All a Scam, thats Chicago.

Ha, I agree. Those teams WERE the police. Some of the best coppers and sgts in this city in the 80s and 90s were on the Gangs South and Gangs West teams. They had massive investigations that broke the entire rank of the stones, vice lords el rukns and the GDs and BDs with the hoover and shorty investigations. Those were the police. Unfortunately, Im guessing 95 percent of those guys are retired or getting ready in the next couple of years of retiring. Let me get this straight, Cease Fire has stated they will not divulge to police information/intelligence they get from the street yet they will be attending Comstat meetings where they will gain intelligence on our operations with the gangs?

Okay, Monday morning lawyering here but doesn't the present set-up with Operation Ceasefire where they refuse to act as "informants or snitches", put both the City and Ceasefire in the trick bag for a big fat juicy lawsuit? Hypothetical: A Ceasefire worker is talking to a gang member who tells him if so-and-so from the other gang shows up at a certain location that evening, the first gang banger with bust a cap in the second gangbanger's head. The worker does not inform or snitch. The first gangbanger does indeed kill the second gangbanger. When caught, the first gangbanger confesses to the conversation with the Ceasefire worker. Now, the family sues Ceasefire civilly for a "failure to act" (a duty argued that they assumed when they took money from the City), and the City is sued because they were negligent in paying this organization without proper oversight (mandatory reporting of potential criminal activity). Seems like a ca-ching all around. But then again, maybe thats why I never took the bar.
It's against the General Orders to associate with convicted felons. Matt Rodriquez had to resign (or got fired) because of it. Case Closed.
Are these ceasefire dudes eligible for overtime initiatives and if so how do they get their quotas ?

I would just like to comment on the Marijuana citation. A lot of people get killed over this stuff from Police, DEA, and innocent citizens. FYI about 1700 power test letters went out yesterday for July 16-19. This is after the 500 that went out a month ago. They have gotten to almost #3000 on the list. Hopefully this means more hiring.

This is completely disgusting. We as police officers do not participate in any joint venture with felons or gang bangers. We do not associate with felons or gang bangers. We do not diminish the police officers or citizens lives that were lost or destroyed due to gang members actions.
We do not legitimize criminals who are now employed by a non for profit. This is just another scam.
Shame on any police officer who stands with felons or gang bangers.

Firing McCarthy would make it look like Rahm made a mistake in hiring him in the first place. McCarthy is riding his NATO fame into a new phase of his stint here, becoming less of a yes man. I'm not saying he is going to be a cheerleader for us but we will see a small improvement. Daley realized what ba huge mistake he made in hiring Weis, but stuck with him and hoped for the best. Wysinger will probably be the next Supt., but not so soon.
