Killing Crime - Brutally

Too bad there aren't any actual investigative reporters any more....or at least any that would make a democrat look bad. Imagine if this happened anywhere a republican was in charge:

  • I work for a stolen auto task force that is for an outside agency.  We recover anywhere from 2-6 stolen autos per day. Most being entered by CPD. What CPD just started doing is leaving out the report numbers for the police reports your JH JJ numbers etc. Per LEADS  a report number is to be attached to all entries.  It appears in the most recent thefts (this week ) they stopped attaching report numbers.

So I emailed CPIC to please send me the reports associated with the vins.  There email response was there are no stolen auto reports for those vins.

I emailed them back and provided the LEADS number that gets assigned to the entry on the states side.  They emailed me back again saying there are no reports with those entry numbers.

I asked them what was going on.  They responded back in email. All Outside agencies are getting the same response.

Which reading between the lines they are saying the reports don’t exist for outside agencies and appears they are falsifying there numbers are stolen autos.

These were all confirmed stolen vehicles when we recovered them via dispatch to dispatch.
Not only is this falsifying numbers this could lead cops out to dry while making recoveries and reports “don’t exist”.

Crime doesn't exist if you don't report it in a democrat run shithole.

What do the insurance companies say? They aren't paying out for stolen vehicles any more because there's no verifiable paper trail?

Not sure what this guy is talking about or where it’s happening, but I’ve had at least a dozen stolen reports I’ve had to generate in the past week. Called leads and all had RD numbers… including the one I did today.

More significant is what will lenders do if insurers refuse to pay out on claims of vehicle thefts?

Its because of ICE , BJ and Pigman don't want them or you arresting the members of Mensa who wreak havoc in the city. This avoids chases and also puts officers into a dangerous situations stopping vehicles but they don't care. What's next,no more warrants in the system?

No report no crime. This is why the shit bird mayor is saying crime is down. What else is not getting reported? Death investigations? Armed Robbery ?
Burglary ? You name it and I guarantee it’s either down graded to a non index crime or not reported at all. Period.

If my memory serves me correctly an RD number has to exist before a bona fide steal is entered into LEADS/NCIC. Even if it's some form of a deceptive practice issue like failure to return a rental it still has to have an RD attached.

BOD was restructured. All done very quickly and quietly. Lost a command spot and all of central investigations was folded up into “major crimes” what ever that means. Auto theft was disbanded. No reasons for why this happened but who benefits most?

More reason the FBI and State should conduct a forensic audit of CPD reports and files. Stolen autos falls under the Detective Division. CPIC is filled with lazy do-nothing clout babies.

Sounds like recovered rental cars that were never reported stolen to cpd in the first place. No cop is risking their job for bs stolen auto stats lol

BTW, don't leave SCC, you'll never be just a forgotten memory . . .

This is another strategy to keep the numbers low in auto thefts. It basically boils down to "cooking the books" in lowering the crime statistics in Chicago. We all know that crime isn't down. Since Brandon Johnson became mayor, he preaches that crime is low. The news media will use that low crime stats while the democratic party will brag on an accomplishment related to low crime in Chicago.

Put that on the list for when they arrest Conehead and Snelling for lying about the crime numbers...and "cooking the books"
That being said, sometimes stolen cars are attached to armed robbery case reports. I wonder where those are ending up on the crime index...
Yes, they are lying to us. We are being bamboozled, and conned.

Someone should organize a "No Communist Dictatorship Rally" or a "Let's Have Good Government Rally", but, then again, no one in Chicago would show up.

Does this affect the Bureau’s Uniform Crime Report statistics?
Under the provisions of the National Motor Vehicle Theft Act of 1919 ( “ Dyer Act”), codified as 18 USC 2311 et seq., the Bureau has investigative jurisdiction regarding Interstate Transportation of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
Before Bank Robbery became a Federal Crime, Interstate Transportation of a Stolen Motor Vehicle was the basis for the Bureau’s pursuit of John Dillinger, leading to his death at the hands of SA Melvin Purvis outside the Biograph Theatre, in East Chicago, on the evening of 22 July 1934, after Dillinger watched Manhattan Melodrama, with Clark Gable, William Powell, and Myrna Loy.

Fake news. Problem stems from POs not calling LEADS Desk to report vehicles AND data entry errors when entering information. Its fairly easy to CCX a motor vehicle theft because many are reported stolen when actually they are not stolen.

Years ago a car I had was drive by wire for the accelerator, went nuts in a parking garage and tried to kill me. I put the car into a support pylon, popped the airbags... minor injuries, but car totalled.

Told the garage attendant, we called cops and fire. Fire came and checked me out - nothing major, all minor. Got there in about 10 minutes.

Cops didn't show up for an hour. Explained to the copper what happened, he said "Well, it's in a private parking garage, so we don't really care", didn't go in the garage, and left. While waiting a few hours for the tow truck to come, more security came by - took my license down. Another cop car came through, saw the wreck in the garage, asked about it; I explained, they said "well, if >whoever< didn't take a report, we're not either..." and drove off.

Got the car fished out of the garage, back to my house. Sat on my driveway while the insurance company did their thing, sent out adjusters... When I made the initial claim they asked for a Police Report, I told them what happened. They said to try to get one.

I called my local suburb to report it - they didn't care, it wasn't in their town. Called the Cook County Sheriff - nope, not their jurisdiction... Called ISP - they wouldn't deal with it since it wasn't on an Expressway.

Told the insurance company no one gave a fuck. They said "yeah, welcome to Illinois"... That was maybe 15 years ago - seems like nothing's changed.

It’s embarrassing and extremely unprofessional. I agree, full on decertification as a LE agency and Federal take over. Bump down all white shirts above the rank of LT back to service rank. The corruption runs too deep at those levels. Favors are owed and the perpetual cycle of undeserved promotions continues. Tijuana Mexico PD has more legitimacy than CPD at this point.

One night I had to put 5 into LEADS that were over a week old. If you don't give a fuck about doing it, think about your fellow Officers who may run that plate that comes back "Clear" but has a couple armed mutts in it that think you're stopping them for a carjacking, not the right turn on red you saw.

Auto Theft was the most desirable unit in the D. Why? Because they didn’t do a damn thing and still got paid plus all the O.T. you wanted. There were no questions asked. Just said you were sitting on a tow yard or a lot where hot cars were recovered from and you got paid. Made more than cash than homicide dics. How do I know? I retired as an Auto Theft dic. Now I go to my winter house in Florida every year for 6 months and stay at my home in the far NW burbs ( kids and grandkids here) for 6 months. Thanks.
