- SCC please address this issue with Chief Hein. He’s been hiding under a rock for several weeks and Compstat has been canceled three weeks in a row so he can keep a low profile. Rumor is there’s an IG investigation, but likely it will go nowhere.
Well, obviously, he's keeping a low profile because everything posted about him giving that order is 100% true and he's being hidden until it blows over.

And speaking of a lack of accountability, since it seems CPS teachers can be unaccountable for off-duty off-site behavior, someone suggested that the Officers accused of being members of the Proud Boys or similar such organizations now have a defense for off-duty off-site behavior.

Had to go in front of my admins with my union guy. Was facing a 10 day suspension. So I told them I identify as tranz myself so how could I possibly be facing discipline over the comment. I held it. Wouldn’t budge. My union guy didn’t see it coming. I held my stance kept saying I am tranz that’s what I identify as. I’m tranz. Even told them I feel like I’m being discriminated against for being trans and shouldn’t be punished for it. Lo and behold. Nothing came out of it. Nothing. Never got suspended it all went away my union guy almost peed on himself told me he’s never seen that before and told me well done. So play it right back. Don’t be afraid. Play their game back. They’ll back off. Don’t ever fear being jammed up. There’s a way out. Play their hand and win.
Well let’s hope Hein has realized that he’s over promoted and demotes himself. Meanwhile, there was a clash between law enforcement officers and citizens on the streets of Chicago and Heins 19P’d it from the comfort of his home. The Superintendent publicly defended Heins order, therefore it’ll all go away.

The courts have ruled that off-duty and off-site is not the standard to fire an employee. You see the Constitution states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances". Congress did not make a law abridging the freedom of speech. Employer/employee relationships are different. Employees must follow workplace rules and adhere to standards of conduct the employer sets. The 7th Circuit ruled that schools may discipline employees when their speech disrupts operations or undermines trust.
I am aware that COPA complaint(s) have been filed over Hein. Nobody that filed a complaint has advised me they've received any communication from COPA.
Hein is being ushered into the building with a mask like Kanye would wear.
Hein can't run away from the Federal Grand Jury.

The Superintendent keeps conducting interviews for Commander, but he hasn’t moved any Commanders except for Barz after the sh-t hit the fan publicly. It’s time to play musical chairs.
There are rumors going around that the city is not going to fund the OT budget at all. No OT for the police. No special, no targeted enforcement of any kind. They can project increases all they want for next year, but they don't have to fund it. Furthermore, they are looking into putting house mice on a firm salary for inside work. They will have to agree to this condition or get launched into patrol. Even when they work mandatory OT they will not get compensated monetarily and will get C/U hours. This may also be a big ask for the next contract. Get all current CPD officers on a firm salary.
Paying officers to appear in court is going to be interesting. Can they dip into the regular police budget?

If Glen was there in a CPD polo then he was working, doing what the original poster on this subthread said--helping keep the peace amongst the protesters and police. Protesters are often more willing to give him information (such as which direction they intend to turn on a march) than they are to sworn/uniformed members. He is also often a critical liaison with alderpeople. Just because you have no understanding of what he does doesn't mean he is doing nothing.
