More Money Located

If Rahm keeps this up, he might not have to raise taxes! Of course, he'll have to stop giving the money away in the first place:
  • Mayor Emanuel will announce a new fund today to support local gun buy-back events.

The city will provide $250,000 for churches and community-based organizations to host their own gun buy-backs.

The police department will help staff them, recover the guns and provide cash cards for the guns that are turned in.

The organizations will host and promote the events.
Ah yes, the "gun buyback." Proven time and again to not have a single iota of effect on crime rates and actually helps get rid of "hot" guns used ion all sorts of crimes, not to mention a few expensive collectibles that would bring a legit seller many thousands of dollars in numerous cases.

On the bright side, the taxpayer money also goes to many gun organizations who use the $100 gift cards to buy ammo for gun camps and training hours to teach responsible gun owners how to shoot better, so it isn't all bad.

What is the policy of the CPD on buy-backs?
If someone with a FOID sets up a table outside the event and offers 10% more in cash to willing sellers, will they be harassed? After all, they will get those guns "off the street" and into a good home.

Asking for a friend.

Didn't the last gun buyback fail miserably? Didn't people from Kentucky drive up with rusted old shotguns and got a debit card? Where is Rahm getting this money from?

How stupid is Rahm Emanuel and the liberals??

The county has recently raised sales tax. Cook County has just sent millions rebuilding camp grounds in the forest preserves for over night camping. The county board is broke why do we need camp grounds? Don't the county board recall why they stopped camping years ago?

That's what we do. I belong to a gun club and we have all sorts of old guns and parts that no longer work or are not useful. Put them together, ten of us go to various sites turn in the "guns" and thats a $1000.00 for our club. It buys ammo, cleaning kits, targets and other various items. Thanks Rham.

Question: Are ballistic tests done on these turned on weapons to determine if they have been used in crimes? Are they returned to owners if found to have been stolen?

There are two guns taken in in a burglary over ten years ago an I would very glad to get them back knowing that probably no one got hurt with them.

So, if my partner and I handle a domestic, get everyone peaceful and cool, are walking back to the car when a shot rings out and one of the parties shoots the other in the apartment we just left, can we be sued for negligence?

Oh wait -- that's happened?

Well then, why the fuck can't those incompetent firemen get sued for letting a fire be "struck" and then burn the damn building to the ground in an even bigger fire? Maybe they didn't have enough of of "America's heroes" working because they were double dipping trying to be TV stars?

Yes, I'm starting to resent firemen - no responsibility, no accountability, no culpability. We have our very move micro-analyzed and they are ignored. You think we treat people poorly? Ha - watch how they treat patients when no citizens are around. How about the guy left behind in the firehouse because he's sleeping off the drunk? And don't get me started on the racism and sexism. Can you imagine a gay fireman? They'd harass him til he quit. So, yes, fuck the firemen.

Who is paying the freight on this? If their were corporate sponsors, that fact would be splattered all over the news.

More tax money pissed away on another gun buy back which have historically shown don't reduce crime.

$250,000 would fund 2.5 (or one Superintendent) coppers for a year. It would also buy nine Explorer police vehicles or three Squadrols.

Time for me to find my grandfather's POS, rusted out, inop Iver Johnson .32 and send my kid to a drop off point and get something

Having worked at a district in the past where buy-back events were located, I found it to be a joke.
The 'no ID, no questions asked, no follow up or inspection' policy in effect makes it a national gun sale rather than a local gun turn-in.
I talked to a farmer from Indiana (IN truck plates) who brought in a large load of inoperable, irreplaceable parts, non working rusted, jammed rifles only as valuable as the pennies he would have gotten for its scrap metal value, walking away with around a thousand dollars of Chicago tax payers money for a mere 'photo-op' by the mayor and revruns.
Politics and usual...once again.

You know, sometimes, you just have to say W.T. F.
Every gun turned In should have a check list attached....who is turning it in, a finger print check card, and a test fire at the range, with ballistics matching....maybe then 9 1/2 can UP his stats with some murder solves....but we all know, the constituency that HAS the guns illegally will NOT be the ones turning them in...and if a gun is NOT workable, there should be NO gift card...
This goof has money for everything but paying his bills....

as usual Chicago's favorite "treasure hunter" the "rahmster" found more money, every-time he hunts he finds huge amounts of taxpayers cash to mismanage at will! He finds billions like McDonalds old saying "Billions and billions served" rahms saying is "billions and billions missing and found" whenever there is a "crisis" he wants to get involved with for votes he finds money! Look at the "sanctuary city" lies white house wants to veto the illegal sanctuary city trillions wasted on illegals it's right here:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/10/20/republicans-push-for-sanctuary-city-crackdown-in-key-senate-vote/

Chicago is part of the criminal conspiracy to allow all the illegals in to cause mayhem and crime, use up the health care funds (While they take health care from police officers), free schools free everything can't wait until a real American with the best interests of America take office Donald J. Trump his poll ratings are skyrocketing as the liberals and democrats continue to destroy this country like Trump says he wants to "Make America great again" we need a real man, a real leader in the White House!

It's time to tax the Catholic Church in Shitcago. When Arch Bullshit Blasé gets involved in Constitutional issues, the separation between church and state has been breached.

Too bad the minors raped and molested by Catholic priests didn't exercise their Second Amendment rights, and kill their pedophilic attackers.

Read one news story saying that "police will check for operability" at these events now. Emanuel is making noises that "gun groups will not be allowed to scam the buy-backs" with junk anymore.

Everyone bragged and laughed so much, blew all over the web about all the junk they got paid for last time that this is the result. It's called "stepping on your own d__k."

Couldn't just take the money and leave. Smart, guys.

Yeah, been there for 50 years, now has to be moved "closer to the ice skating rink" when most shoppers/pedestrian activity is in the busy area around D___y Center, not east of the often-dangerous-traffic Michigan Avenue, out in a windswept park which many people have no reason to go to. Born here, and we never went over to Grant Park once during Christmas season, we were mostly up and down Wabash, from Sears up to Field's.

Have men dressed like cows from the RedLoon Theater Company set the tree on fire "as an affirmation of resiliency" or something, and we'll be there.

Agreed, the pensions will be funded, the state and rauner even said if rahm does not fund them, the state will drastically reduce cities portion of funding and put it directly by law in pension fund, that way we are not the "bad guys" but rahm is for misappropriating more tax money!
