Nice Job Officer

  • Three years ago, I wrote about several Chicago Police officers who saw a family in need; and instead of playing it by the book, they chose to "play it by the heart."

I wrote that the officers' kindness and generosity shows that behind a typical police officer's badge beats a strong and compassionate heart." (A link to that story is here.)

Today, I am privileged to share another example of a Chicago Police officer who has played it by the heart, this time for the kids at Hubbard High School, 62nd and Hamlin.

Officer John Catanzara has been a school officer at Hubbard since late 2013. He has built, mostly at his own expense, a 3,200-gallon koi pond in the small atrium space between wings of the school.
The pond was completed and dedicated this past 30 June to fallen Officer Brian Strouse. There area bunch of pictures at the link up top, and this was an impressive effort judging by the completed project. Well done Officer.

Nice job to the SRO at Hubbard! On a side note, someone please inform the Supt. that it's time to get serious about a diet. He appears to be really packing on the pounds lately.

It is time for the FOP to step up and make the City man all cars as 10-4, no more one man cars anywhere...no more 99 units. There is a war on police. We deserve the chance to go home in one piece.

FYI, SCC...

Check out Father Fakers facebook page. Good stuff that needs to be outed over the last 2 days. The usual attacks on police unions plus a call to boycott non-black owned stores.

Sounds like a no-no for RC church to be involved in........

Kudos to Officer Cantazara-this is one of the reasons that CPD needs to continue to be a presence in the schools so that students can interact with the police on an everyday basis.
