Dean angelo had funny quote. This quote goes to show he was on his knees the whole time when dealing with our Contract and rights and CBA agreement. Dean your a scum bag.

But Angelo said: “It’s easy to make statements that you’re going to do A, B and C. But when you get in that room, your temperament changes. It’s easy to write on a blog that you’re going to bring down the walls of Jericho. But when you come outside from your keyboard, you don’t have the wind to make a sound through the horn.”

The only air Dean had left was to blow the the city on his bad knees and not the horn for our officers.

"Silent Dean..."

Why any so-called man would kneel and
adopt a subservient posture before a
malignant, mentally and emotionally
misshapen manling like Rahm Emanuel
is beyond us.

Dean slavishly followed Rahm's
"Busyness" script...

A lot of intentionally meaningless
and unproductive actions that over time,
ultimately proved to be harmful to the
membership of FOP.

No sizzle and definitely no steak
except for Dean and his kid only.

Sleep well.
Both of you.

As for the new president?

We, not just the 3rd person us,
but WE, have got our eyes on YOU
and everything you do.

Betray this membership at your risk.

Congratulations Mr. President.

Shame on you Mr. immediate past president.
You're nothing but a low-down traitor and
the aid-er and abettor of the one who has
seen fit to be the cause of much grief to
our retirees and widows.

As the saying goes..."be careful what you ask for, you just might get it"! Graham the prez. Murray the 1st V.P. (his articles should be interesting. Hope he spells better than he speaks. Then there is Garza. A man with a serious gambling addiction who went to FOP conferences and had to be given an allowance so he would not piss all the money away on the slots or at the boats. Oh yea, he's now the FOP financial secretary.
Let's not forget who really runs the day-to-day FOP operations. It's the ladies in the office. I will bet Garza though they will be leaving in short time. Don't think they will put up with Mark and Bill who will really be running the FOP. Kevin is just the face for TV.
Good luck to you young officers. You have now made your bed. Try to get a good rest.

Not the jack in the box surprise like changing the pension for new guys ( 55 yrs minimum) or the surprise 70%/30% reimbursement rate for the ppo medical negotiated by dean in silence. Graham needs to hit the ground running cause all Rahm and the Black Caucus want to do is take, take, take.

Rahm lost more in this than Dean! Rahm just can't face the reality, that the Clinton/Obama eras are over. Rahm had his way with Dean on the last contract, but that was when Rahm still had a political career and could still play "Da Godfather", Pre-McDonald video. Today, Rahm is a political liability, as demonstrated by major Party leaders declining to even be seen with him, as was the case with when Hillary would come to town and avoided Rahm. And the old tactic of feeding some dirt, real or not, to his buddies in the Media, "Me Thinks";Backfired! Coppers were sharp enough to realize that if IAD had the goods on Graham, they would have suspended him on the spot. And the only time coppers read the two Chicago rags, it is when they stop a newspaper delivery truck or get a free copy at the Station. So now Rahm desperate for Black support will do what the Black Caucus tells him to do on the next Contract, which we all know is to coin Rahm's favorite word these days is: "Unacceptable". The Contract will probably be in arbitration when the Mayoral Primary comes up. So the only thing now is to see who will be the next Mayor of Chicago. Because one thing is for sure: We know who will NOT be reelected! Watch for each other, trust few. Congratulations Kevin! Baby "G"

way to drain the swamp you idiots. Kevin Graham is as bad as the Clintons in Washington. And if you guys all think that Marty Prieb is going to be awesome for you think again. Yeah he is a great guy, writer and investigator on the wrongful conviction movement but that's all marty knows about and its all he cares about. Marty thinks that he will be able to fight the media... in the media. You cant fight the media in the media if they wont even give you a second of facetime on their station or paper. The public cant hear you when the media refuses to give you the time of day. Who are you going to yell at marty??? The only people who will be listening are coppers and we already know what we know, the public needs to know and they will never hear about it. Also, Marty will focus on nothing but the wrongful conviction movement 90 percent of the time. Kevin Graham ran on the Citywide ticket when they were in power. You guys just opened the door again for Donahue and Dougherty. THEY USED PRIEB SO THEY CAN GET BACK INTO POWER! They know marty was popular and they know people listened to him. Why do you think he was only offered A 2nd VP spot on the ticket? Why not president? Why not 1st VP? Because they only needed him to push the ticket through. You cant pass a contract when you stand firm all the time like a mule as these guys will try to do so they can "prove" a point to the membership but in the end the ENTIRE contract will go to arbitration and we will get destroyed. I know you guys think graham is the new guy but hes not.. Hes the old guard who got us in this situation. He is the gate keeper of the swamp and cost the state lodge over 100k dollars because of his incompetence. good luck to us all, were gonna need it.

Betting odds DEAN has erased the computers at the lodge already!

If you have a grievance in the pipe line a strongly recommend you make an appointment to go to the lodge and make sure the paperwork is still there.

Graham has a big problem who to put in the office spots?
Do you put people who lost their elections but paid into the campaign fund?

Or do you put people who have no loyalty to you but have won there office spots?

is Donahue going to be pushing for laws part time still?

IS Doughtery leaving pushing a beat car to handling grievances at the FOP hall for that 6 figure salary?

And what the hell are we asking for in the next contract? Grahams campaign literature was extremely light in specifics.

And DEAN is the past president is he going to show up with his lift shoes and stir the pot?

And Finally what becomes of junior who was a merit pick and RAHM was keeping it secret till after the election. Will DEANO jr become of full time processor of juvenile at area central? (kid still has not processed a felony case yet!)

The interesting thing about that law is that the law is based upon population, i.e. cities over one million residents. We should attack that law. The law you speak of essentially states that we cannot bring the residency issue to an arbitrator to have residency awarded in arbitration. The interesting part is that every other city in the state can. Seems a little unfair doesn't it perhaps even Unconstitutional. Don't know. I can say that that law can be challenged. Then the residency can be brought to arbitration and perhaps overturned. Nothing stops parties from negotiation like you allege. Did you actually look it up or did you post based upon urban legend?

You're correct, the people clamoring for residency negotiations don't know what they're talking about. You're also correct that it's a law, but there have been plenty of laws that have been changed through legal challenges, such as secretly recording the police ruling a few years ago. Take it to court, not to the negotiating table.

The facts are simple, with out a STRIKE clause , like the TEACHERS have you have nothing, and have no power over the city. Why does the little jag off always settle with the teachers ? Because if they strike he's fucked for not being able to run the CITY.... But we have a ace in the hole. The BLUE FLU boys and girls and until you realize the power you have in this FLU epidemic you will always be at the Mercy of Emanual's arbitrators !!!! Love how people are saying fight for more $, better health care, earlier retirement, etc...
You know what rahms response will be, stay fetal my friends.
Coppers have always been their own worse enemy.
Yes the city, media, government has basically blamed all the woes of Chicago on the cpd, but guess what you're still getting paid and paid well.
If we're going to focus on one thing it should be discipline and how the city can strip, fire and separate officers just about anytime they like. This rule 14 has to go or at least be amended, it is too broad and easily used against us. They want to create copa/ipra, police boards, blah blah blah, how about regular policeman in these groups to fight for our members?
They used to have a panel made if of po, Lt/capt, and exempt to go over bigger suspensions. Not sure if this is still around but it seems officers are guilty until proven innocent just so the powers that be can save face. Funny how rule 14 applied to the officers from 8 but not the cheaters. Both are allegations that are still being fought, but one group is struggling to pay their bills and the other is living large and fat.
As a group we are terrible at standing together, and that's why the other side always has the advantage they know we are easy to divide and conquer.
I don't know graham, Angelo, shield, etc. but graham needs to focus on us becoming a team again, because it seems to many people are just out for themselves and not the overall membership.

Graham was asked about residency at a roll call. He gave a weak nervous answer about it being too difficult to get springfield on board, and said it's not on the table. Our union is in disarray. Our union head can live outside the city on the sneak, but not you.

Don't generalize about the retirees. Many of us are still active FOP members. Many and I mean many of us have sons and daughters on the job, not to mention brothers and sisters along with other family members. We had our day, but that doesn't mean we're are not concerned about the active CPD members

I personally would rather see my son reap the benefits of a new contract than me getting them

As long as it is state law, don't think residency can be arbitrated or asked for......
And am pretty sure it was the state that also allowed 9 1/2 to slow down his pension payments.....

Negotiate for what is realistic in this climate:
Raises, to meet the daily needs of the accelerated cost of living in the city
Health care for current and retired personnel (cuz at $2600 a month for married couple of 2) is a HUGE drain
Same rights as FEDS re: traumatic incidents
Seniority rights to remain re: watch, district, etc etc
Under-oath complaints vs. police to remain

You get the picture, Kevin et al? DONT GIVE UP ANYTHING........

Just see if becomes lodge policy to publicly encourage every cop, every cop's family member, every cop's friend and neighbor to vote in every general election.

We need to make the politicians FEAR US.

Then we will get what we want.

Hold your hand on your next job assignment?. Sorry, I did plenty on my own already. I'll do the one thing for you that I'm able to do, wish you luck and tell you to stay safe. Oh, and remind you that unless you quit, are killed, die of natural causes, or wait until you turn the age where you are forced off the job, you too WILL retire someday too.

Wrong and a defeatist attitude. We can go to arbitration as we have in the past and win some lose some. Our power comes from our contract and past practices. As far as the teachers we have a much better deal and don't have to have the same level of education and they don't get a gun and radio when dealing with the same fine citizens we are.

4/13/2017 07:53:00 AM

Actually....since Chicago is a Home Rule city in the state of Illinois....

The City could legally choose to ignore the state law by refusing to enforce it. Like how some suburbs don't enforce the Rear/Front Plate required State Vehicle Code. Or how Chicago, for years, enforced a Zero % Window Tint on vehicles despite the State having (IIRC) a 35% max allowance.

But here is the thing...

To get the City to bargain away residency in a new contract, what would you expect they would want YOU, the Police, to give up?

Find a Lawyer to challenge the State law in court.

To all of you in the above thread:Respectfully, once you retire, no matter who you were, what unit you were in, white shirt, blue shirt, good guy or asshole you mean absolutely nothing to a majority of those OTJ now. You are of no use to them now, present day. Yeah you could probably still make a call, but it will be handled with the same indifference.
You are gone like a disposable Bic lighter, and we all made that choice for a reason.
It's hard to give up something that you have done for the majority of your life, but you gave it up. For a Reason. Enjoy the rest of your life, and keep the Police in your thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mr. High and Mighty,

It's funny to hear you say all of this, when it was YOUR generation that negotiated for pay raises and everything else INSTEAD of protecting your pensions. YOU are responsible for exactly where you are now. So stop slamming everyone working now like they're the assholes. Also, you can come off of your bullshit about how you are the only ones who vote. The free lunch and wheelgun days of violating everyone's rights as you see fit and as it suits your mood that particular day are also gone, in case you haven't heard Mr. Badass. I don't know if you've also heard, but they even hire us black folk these days. So vote however you want, but don't make it sound like you did everything to make sure my generation had it better. I'm on 13 years and I can tell you my father was never let on the job by your generation because his name didn't start with "Mc". So speak up at meetings just like everyone is entitled to, but come off your attitude that you are owed anything. You got exactly what you asked for.
