Have You Voted?

Under a week to get your ballot in...even less as you cannot just drop it off at the FOP.

Get em in Officers. The Contract is under attack and a united membership, regardless of the outcome, is a must this time around.

VOTE!

I don't care who you vote for, just please VOTE!

Write in "Cooter" for fuck sake, just vote.
Rahm is bargaining on our apathy to fuck us over in our next contract. Fuck us out of raises, duty availability, uniform, overtime, retro, pensions...

Not just the new officers like last contract,
Not just the retired with the health care...

ALL OF US!

"Oh, if so-n-so looses by ONE, then I'll feel bad, and you can blame ME!"
Well, if he looses by 100 votes, will 100 Officers get the blame?

Retired for past year.
Received and mailed first ballot.

As of yesterday still no runoff ballot.
Called FOP7 on Monday morning left my information and cell
number but as of yesterday still no reply.

GUESS my vote does not matter to union. Even after paying dues for 2017.

You active duty members take notes this is how you will be treated in time.

Hey who ever wins this election.

I suggest you start new policy when members contact the lodge.
Just like work. Assign a event number so the contact can be traced thru union.
And members can get a reply and a record is maintained. Of who gave the reply or actions
Taken.

Sick of phone calls just being dismissed by lodge staff members.
There are no stupid questions only lack of answers.

Bye Bye Dean, Kevin I hope you take notice all of Deans mistakes or you too will be a 1 term wonder. The same goes for your party backers, Deans backers didn't make the cut second time around. The membership is done with the B.S time for some aggressive leadership, time for our leadership to become vocal and outspoken.

Dean SCREWED us all on our medical. Dean gave Mayor 9 diget midget the lube as be bent us over and switched our coverage into this awful 2 tier BCBS PPO. He also screwed our retirees and widows. Then Dean stood silent as the media made us the enemy of the state when in fact it was the cowardly politicians. F*** Algelhole. I suggest we all vote for Graham and keep him accountable.

Doubt it. With Rick King as the new FOP "Chairman" the only thing we know for sure is that he will be running all of his side businesses with our dues. Is this the best they can do? 9500 ballots have been returned. We shall see.

4/05/2017 12:12:00 AM

Holy hell the FOP board elected RICK KING Chairman of the board?????? For those of us that worked out of Homan Square know him best as the guy who worked the security booth and sold t-shirts on the side. He would set up shop every tour he worked for at least 4 years that I know of!! THIS IS OUR CHAIRMAN?!?!?

Fop can't do the job. We teamsters.

To the blogger who is upset with the retirees having a voice in FOP. We retirees helped build the union. Now it's your turn, the retirees earned the right to remain FOP MEMBERS. Grow a pair or just plain grow up. I can promise you that Graham will destroy the union. He is a real dog ass.

I ask Kevin Graham at roll call a question that he attended with Bill D and Mark and he looked at them before he gave me a bullshit answer. Kevin, you remember the roll call and the question i asked. I was one of the few that actually asked a question that day.

Rahm's bean counters are watching CPD membership vote turnouts.
If CTU can organize their 2% pension paying, 6 hr.day, weekends off, unhinged CPS ranting protestors, schedule strike walkouts, promote hate opinionated curriculum and turnout 95% membership voter participation...
IT'S NO WONDER RAHM CAVES IN TO THEIR DEMANDS.

Don't shame the FOP Membership by ignoring the Representation and Ballot Process.

There is one thing certain coming in the 2017-22 Contract to keep in mind, NO MATTER WHO IS ELECTED...Rahm is planning to screw us over big time, even if the Contract goes into Arbitration - We don't need disorganization or dissension.

SEND IN THE BALLOT !

Voted for Graham we need some changes if he is like dean in 4 years throw him out on his ass! Then this:

(OT) the jeopardy question is what is freedom of speech democrats? He only be funnin!

Texas shock jock who mocked Chicago murder victims a 'good man,' activists told
working on a code of on-air conduct for its DJs in the wake of a Texas shock jock's repeated jokes about Chicago murder victims, according to assurances the Chicago Urban League says it was given by the company's executives this week.

Despite owning major black Chicago radio stations including WVON and WGCI, the San Antonio-based company — formerly known as Clear Channel — has repeatedly declined to comment on the furor over Michael Berry's regular segment mocking African-American murder victims on his nationally syndicated show.

Berry, a white conservative who is iHeartMedia's "talk personality of the year," last month apologized on air for the segment which included crude racial stereotypes, a bingo game in which listeners had to guess where in the body victims had been shot, and Berry mocking the name of a blameless black teen killed by a stray bullet. Berry said in his apology that he would end the segment, only to suggest two weeks later that he missed doing it.

But Chicago Urban League's senior vice president Paula Thornton Greear said that during a meeting Tuesday also attended by the Rev. Michael Pfleger and Rufus Williams of BFF Services and iHeartMedia executives Greg Ashlock and Tony Coles, Ashlock said that Berry was a "good man" and that "they are working on some guidelines that their on-air hosts would follow."

The company does not monitor all of its output and appears not to have any written standards to which it holds its broadcasters, Greear added.

Calls to iHeartMedia were not returned Thursday. Greear said the Urban League and other groups protesting Berry's award would start calling iHeartMedia advertisers if iHeartMedia CEO Robert Pittman does not meet with them, strip Berry of his award, publicly address the controversy and take ownership of it.

"Twenty-one groups including the National Black Justice Coalition wrote to iHeartMedia about this and they did not even get a response," she said. "This is too important for iHeart to ignore. They will hear from us again."

How many dead retirees will vote for Dean? Chicago values.

4/06/2017 05:03:00 PM

First of all this is a run off. Second we can ask the election company about their schedule. Third it doesn't give either candidate an advantage. They both had more time to get out and talk with members and honestly Kevin's Graham squandered the opportunity. He had a few extra weeks to get to the districts and roll calls and went dormant. Dean continued to be the President day to day and campaigned on his own time. A lot harder getting in front of the troops when you have an office to run. So the date is what the date is and if you think it gave an advantage to one then please tell me how.

Remember this asshole. Many of the retired members have kids on the job. If everything was left up to you the retiree would fend for them self. The retirees gave you the contracts that you have enjoyed to date. If you make it an us vs them then i would hate to be your partner. You want more representation then show up to the meetings and put your name in for office. By the way Local 2 Fire also has retirees that vote. Im not retired but am sick of members calling retirees the enemy.

Didn't get your ballot?

April 12 from 9-12noon at the FOP Hall, members can vote in person.

Bring your Police ID and union card (lost your union card? Go to office upstairs for temporary ID to vote).

Turnout for the runoff is higher than the original election, let's get even more members to get out and vote.

To the commenter who is clearly obsessed with Bill Dougherty and Mark Donahue, stop posting over and over and over again how they "ruined this union." Tell us how they ruined the union, please. I know of many good things they accomplished (some that were undone by Dean Angelo) on issues like health care, legislation for CR by affidavit, actuarial required pension funding, arbitration.

So, please, get your head out of your ass and start dealing with facts. Tiny Dancer 9.5 never called Dougherty or Donahue a "true partner." That was how he described the surrender midget, Dean Angelo.
