- A five-time convicted felon, free on parole since January 13, is now charged with robbing a Lakeview woman at gunpoint in Lincoln Park last Thursday night.
21-year-old Jamal Dumas of Mount Prospect pushed the 28-year-old woman into a gangway in the 1800 block of North Clark around 11 p.m., just steps from the entrance of Hotel Lincoln, police said.
There, he pulled out a handgun and forced the woman to turn over her purse before fleeing, according to prosecutors.
Twenty-one and five felonies convictions already. In what universe is this piece of excrement ever going to fit into society, get an actual job, contribute anything other than pain/suffering/angst/property loss/unwanted children/etc? How long until he kills someone?

I blame Preckwinkle more than Foxx. This guy had 5 felony convictions by age 21. Foxx probably handled 4 of his juvenile cases but Precky has been strong arming other electeds for years to go soft on these criminals, including strong arming the guy who runs the judges. Officers are required to complete an Electronic Data Collection Report any time they stop somebody. The form requires a laundry list of information about the contact, which then needs to be made publicly available in an online database. This is similar to Chicago PD “investigatory stop reports” which require officers to fill out a long form after every stop. This practice has resulted in Chicago Police Department officers reducing proactive contacts by an estimated 82% while shootings in the city are skyrocketing.
