New Police Academy huh? I'll believe it when the 1st Recruit walks in the door. This is our 4th "proposed" academy in the last 10 years.

O'Bama warns about too much Patriotism on the Fourth of July weekend. The claim to fame community organizer has called for tolerance, moderation and respect for others while in Indonesia. But he didn't badmouth Indonesia telling a crowd how much the capital had improved since he lived there as a child. He also warned about an aggressive form of nationalism emerging. I guess the Constitutional scholar was just expressing his 1st Amendment rights suggesting political correction on America's Independence Day celebration like so many other truly American traditions.

IMHO The War of 1812 doesn't get its just due. People forget that the British had taken Washington DC, burned most of it to the ground -- including the newly built White House. And the British Navy which was shelling Fort McHenry in Baltimore Harbor, for 25 Hours straight was THE MOST powerful Navy that ever sailed the Seven Seas at the time.
Keep in mind that if the Fort had lowered the Flag and surrendered, and we lost the war -- the United States of America would have ceased to exist. 'America' would once again be Colonies of Great Britain. That's king of important in the grand scheme of things, no? :-)
SCC does DOH now trump RDO? Not sure why the union is not saying anything that RDO is being cancelled and DOH is granted for officers with less seniority than those who were RDO. I thought Graham and the Blue Voice group was supposed to be more vocal than Angelo. I guess I was wrong. Meet the new boss same as the old boss

Agreed..This is a sad day when officers this year have been canceled RDO's left and right, having lots of seniority, many times 25+ years, while PPO's are not working on their RDO, and hanging out with their college buddies at home, with 8 fucking months on the job. Pathetic. Not one peep from the union about this . Not one peep

This past weekend and tonight when all of you and your buddies were watching or shooting off illegal (in illinois) fireworks, remember that 10 percent of the cost of all of that could have been going to the state of Illinois as sales tax revenue.
Millions in lost revenue. Just like the slow burn on legal weed. Let it all go up in smoke.

Happy Independence Day! I used to take this holiday for granted but not anymore...not in these crazy times. Your life or freedom really could be taken away from you so much easier nowadays. I agree about you having your RDO cancelled. That's fucked up. But stop worrying about everyone else and focus solely on your needs. Thou shall not covet. And yes I got some time on the job.

If your RDO was cancelled you have to file a formal grievance in order to get amy action. You bitching about it will do nothing. The City is playing fast and loose, thinking they can do what hey want. You just show up and do it and keep your mouth shut. You'll get paid so no loss. That's bullshit. Of your rdo was cancelled, AND YOU DIDN'T VOLUNTEER, and you know of a PPO in the same day off group who didn't get their day off cancelled, you have a winnable grievance, so file the fucking thing. The WCs aren't going to be mad, the DCs aren't going to be nad, they all know this is some straight-up bullshit. So someone who was violated, file the fucking grievance and that will force both FOP to take action and the Department to try and defend themselves. If you file and FIP declines to act on your grievance you can call the State Lodge and file a grievance with Tham against Lodge 7. Just do it and try to stop this bullshit.

I think I'm going to write a thank-you letter to this judge.
I know for a fucking fact that copies of grievance request was filed with the Union President and Vice President from the 19th district and emails sent to all board members, the response was nothing they can do or will do. So fucking typical, laziness. They said City has the right, and never addressed why PPO's were given the day off. So yes, there was action taken by a member, but the F.O.P. stopped it and demeaned and dismissed him. The only thing came to my mind is that FOP is in bed with the enemy and doesn't want to cause waves. Perfect example how Kevin has instantly, so quickly failed us as members in his first month! Way to go. Our next contract will be complete shit if this is his attitude and lack of action to fight. WTF
