Low Standards (and an old friend)
This is exactly what our readers were warning about months ago:
- A new recruit, hired by CPD, in the academy, was arrested at the training academy for home invasion. Tried to escape and found to have a fully loaded weapon in his car! So, this is the new and improved Police Department!?! wtf!
An update shortly thereafter said:
- Wasn't hired yet! Was in the process. Sorry for the misinformation... Was told if he beats this arrest he is still eligible to be hired
Unfortunately, we think that's probably true, seeing as what Human Resources has been pushing through the past few years.
You'd think it was amazing that he even managed to enter the building as an applicant, but then we read this:

What a SICK SICK SICK and EMBARRASSING DEPARTMENT ! When will this nightmare end? How bad can it get? Funny how The city(politicians hoping to get reelected)want to put all the veteran officers through "retraining" under the guise of a the false narrative, as though we have done something wrong, but at the same time they lower the standards of hiring creating a far dangerous environment for all. What a hell hole!
I think the LAPD tried this a decade ago. It doesn't work out.
Hey SCC, look into this, there are active recruits in the academy right now that have been hired who do not possess 60 college credits nor have the military experience to waive it.... However, they did get preference points for being a CPS student (bypassing other applicants still waiting to get hired) and have ONLY partial college credits, this needs to be investigated.

Many years ago there was a drive by on the westside.
A 6yr old sitting on his porch was hit and killed.
The A/4 detectives had an informant that told them who the shooter was.
The A/4 detectives looked and looked for the offender.
They put out wants and warrants.
Over a year went past.
That same informant then told them that the offender was in the police academy.
A/4 detectives went to the academy and sure enough sitting in a classroom on the second floor was the offender. Cuffed him and took him out.
This shit happens all the time.
HR either overlooks or does not do a good enough job on the background investigations.
Fuck it! Hire him and let him handle all the jobs. Put him to work if he wants this shit so bad.
Kid going through the court system right now trying to get on with domestic battery arrest. Parents are both on disability.

Lowering standards rarely, if ever, work. Seems like all standards of society have to be dropped just so the lowest can feel like they're not really a drain on the rest.

CPS preference points , it discriminates against all Police Officers that attended private high schools in Chicago or Suburban Public Schools . FOP should file a law suit and Officers that were passed over by recruits that were behind them should receive back pay and seniority .

How is it every Chicago city agency is run by fucking clown shoes? The incompetence here is mind numbing. I'd like to know if there's this much failure in any other of America's 10 biggest cities. Somehow, I highly doubt it.

I was deployed two tours in Iraq. Had over 60 hours so I had both the college and military. Yet in 2007 I was told by Chicago that I could not continue because 15 of my credits did not have dates. So my Sealed transcript had a discrepancy from the college and I was denied. I was told by the officer too bad so sad that I would have to reapply the next time the department did testing. So here I was qualified never arrested and denied so easily. Yet our department today is hiring drug dealers gang bangers and criminals by the hundreds. Joke ass fucking department run by circus clowns.

A few years ago during the lie detector, it was found a guy had committed date rape while the girl was drunk and semi-conscious. They couldn't do anything to him because he didn't lie on his questionnaire or lie detector and the lie detector can't be used against a person on it's own with no evidence of lying.
I mean look at the leadership. I'm sure some of our leaders are frauds that slipped through the cracks.

Why didn't you tell them you weren't using your college credits, but your military time?

I worked with that impersonator in 003 he was a great officer and a real friend. He is the one behind the Garry for mayor campaign and is organizing a wrestling benefit in the parking lot at 006. Leo Rick Flair will wrestle Ron Luberman the winner will be Garry's superintendent.

It's the Chicago way. They hire somebody's somebody that can't get or are not qualified to get a job anywhere else! No one wants them...

This is such BS, to start with the questions on a lie detector are yes or no questions. I doubt that question would have been asked. Second the results of the lie detector might not be able to used but any admission he makes can. I also doubt there is any confidentiality that prevents the test administrator from testifying.
Keep lowering the standards. It will make a fine department. I will watch WGN from Florida and see in a few years
