- A Northwestern University associate professor and a University of Oxford employee are wanted in connection with the stabbing death of a man in a Near North Side apartment, according to public records.
A Cook County judge issued arrest warrants Monday charging Wyndham Lathem, 42, and Andrew Warren, 56, with first-degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Trenton Cornell-Duranleau last week, records show.
An alert broadcast over police radio says the two should be considered armed and dangerous.
Lathem is an associate professor at Northwestern's Department of Microbiology-Immunology at the Feinberg School of Medicine. In his LinkedIn profile, Lathem said his research is focused on pathogens and the diseases they cause.
We're certain he'd get a discount from his fellow Northwestern travelers.

NU was quick to scrub all mention of this guy and downplay his role at the university. They were very quick to circle the wagons on this.

A few years ago Northwestern's head IT guy (Jeffrey Mundt) was arrested for counterfeit here and then for a murder in Louisville Kentucky.
His field of study is the PLAGUE. Since it's been at least a week since the murder, did he go back to the lab and grab some infected fleas to spread pestilence on his final run? Can NU state that he never entered his Lab since last Thursday? This story has MAJOR ramifications. I think his buddy and him have fled the country already, the warrants are just legal groundwork for arrest and return. On the salacious side...is this a Gay Domestic Homicide....check.....International Factor.......check.......Rich White People.......check......Summertime National (Andrew Cunnanin) Type Manhunt.........check. All in all this is going to make for great book reading, summer 2018.

Maybe David Protess and Paul Ciolino can find some poor mope to railroad like they did Alistory Simon. The real killer, Anthony Porter, was released from prison after a bunch of journalism students lied and paid off witnesses. Watch "Murder in the Park". It exposes Northwestern and Protess. The Innocence Project is a farce. Protess and Ciolino belong in jail.
The area the crime occurred in has been known for strange behavior over a number of decades.
Bet ya the "professor" is right on campus being hidden from the police in one of the campus "safe spaces"

It amazes me that this once great university has allowed itself to be hijacked by some sham so called innocence project that engaged in every smarmy tactic and ploy to railroad people all in an effort to have their client ruled "innocent". Now this?!?
I have to imagine that there are lots of parents out there who are directing their college bound kids to look elsewhere and NOT Northwestern University.

Project Innocence is already has paid witnesses that said they didn't do it and once caught should be released immediately. They're drafting the lawsuit that says the police framed them and they wasn't millions.

What a bunch of fucking hypocrites. Without a shred of evidence, without so much as a preliminary hearing, Northwestern has banned both from campus property anywhere. If you have ever heard about a rush to judgement, i think the school has really jumped the gun on this matter. It is simply unfair and because it is so, the ban is unjust and immoral. Shame on all of you educators and resident scholars. Many of us expect a more intelligent position and not the lazy way out. You are not Chicago's big ten team but rather a bunch of rubes.
