No One Paid the Bill?

Another great job by Lewin and his IT people (click for larger version):

This is what many people got Sunday across various platforms when they attempted to access the Department web page. Someone else bought or picked up the domain name Chicagopolice.org. Well done.

UPDATE: And speaking of bills, some Department car wash locations are refusing service because once again, the City hasn't paid the bill.

Chicago can't pay its bills, because the city still has junk bond status. Yet Mayor Rahm has been touting a recent upgrade by some agency that no one has ever heard of. That's right, S&P, Moody's and Fitch think Chicago is crap (a lot of downgrades under the Emanuel Administration). Yet a month back, he said that the city received an upgrade from the Kroll Agency.

If you vote tomorrow, be aware that Jeannie Ives, the Republican challenger to Rauner, wants to dramatically reduce your pension.

https://ivesforillinois.com/ives-leads-the-charge-on-transformational-pension-reform/

These three items must happen simultaneously:

· Pass a constitutional amendment to change the pension protection clause in Article VIII, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois, which states that pensions cannot be diminished or impaired. This change will ensure taxpayers are not on the hook for pension obligations on services not yet rendered.

· Require all new hires to enter a 401K-stlye self-managed plan. This provides the flexibility and ownership of assets that is prevalent in our private sector and relevant for our modernized employment system where job mobility is important to workers. As well, the US Military is shifting to this plan for all military personnel.

· Re-negotiate pension obligations with current workers and retirees. Many of these plans will either be insolvent or require confiscatory taxes that cannot be paid. We must have an honest conversation, as Rhode Island politicians had with their pensioners, in order to solve this problem once and for all.

At least 12 armed robberies reported in an hour in Albany Park

http://abc7chicago.com/at-least-12-armed-robberies-reported-in-an-hour-in-albany-park/3233432/

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating a spree of at least 12 armed robberies in an hour on the Northwest Side Monday morning, police said.

Police said two to four male suspects driving a black 2005 Nissan sedan with license plate number Q817490 have been approaching people and robbing them in the 17th Police District in the Albany Park neighborhood.

At around 5:30 a.m., two men reportedly tried to carjack a limousine driver in the 3400-block of West Montrose Avenue. The two men apparently tried to jump in the limo, but the driver was able to pull at least one of them out.

The limo driver reportedly has some minor injuries from wrestling with one of the men but is going to be ok. Apparently a third man was in a getaway car which may have been stolen in a different carjacking.

Meanwhile, police in the 17th District have been investigating at least 11 or 12 robberies that happened between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., including ones in the 3500-block of West Argyle Street, 3600-block of West Wilson Avenue, 4800-block of North Kimball Avenue, 3400-block of West Montrose Avenue, 4900-block of North Christiana Avenue and the 3100-block of West Wilson Avenue.

In one of the armed robberies, one of the victims was able to wrestle a gun away from one of the offenders and turned the weapon into police.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
12 in one hour must be a record another crime record being broken in the most corrupt city the most anti-police news media the most anti-police elected officials the most anti-police bosses in the country noticed we have a plate number all these robberies no description of offenders strange?

It’s always fun learning the rules the city imposed on us but not themselves. If you owe them money pay on time or the a late fee. Then services are suspended, then your subject to arrest and court. But what happens when say your IOD and you go to the ER? City pays right? Well they pay when they’re good and ready. Had the hospital calling stating you have to pay or we’ll send you to collections because the city only pays bills twice a year and we’re not waiting for our money. So you pay and wait to get reimbursed. Doing business with this city sucks. They make their own rules.

Johnathan and Ronnie's clout on the police department was Barbara McDonald. McDonald
was in charge of research and development and was the person in charge of implementing CAPS. The two of them had their own room/office in the training division and were UNTOUCHABLE. A particular sergeant got into it with the two of them and was called on the carpet over this. He was told point blank LEAVE THEM ALONE THEY WORK FOR McDonald by Charlie Roberts, the then head of the training division. When JL made sergeant this same sergeant gave a class on cr#'s and allegedly told the new sergeants how to kill cr#'s. JL thought this was unethical and wrote a report to Roberts. Roberts called the sergeant on this and after a heated exchange the sergeant was transferred back to his unit of assignment. JL ha has always been a ass.

And no one is placing more police (even though we are understaffed) in areas that hevaily pay for safety evidenced here:

String of armed robberies on Northwest Side Monday morning

At least "10" ahh more than that but we can stay with low number who do we the citizens beware of? who do we report to police as we want to be active members of society helping our bastardized officers lets see who did this:

t least 10 armed robberies and one attempted carjacking were reported in Albany Park over an hour Monday morning, committed by a group of two to four boys or young men driving a black Nissan, according to Chicago police.

The first robberies were reported around 5 a.m. About half an hour later, the same robbers are believed to have tried to steal a car from a limo driver, police said.

They were driving a 2005 Nissan sedan with a spoiler on the back. Its license plate was Q817490, police said.

Police were expected to release more details at an 11:15 news conference at 35th Street and Michigan Avenue.

Lets look for 2-4 boys (boys hmm boys wtf is this description?) Ahh but wait they said the car is "black" so do we resonably infer the thugs are black?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-met-albany-park-armed-robberies-20180319-story.html

Then over here:
Police investigating armed robberies in Near North Side area
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-met-armed-robberies-lincoln-park-20180319-story.html

oh no did googleme make a mistake actually doing his job describing the scum:

Police described the robber as black, 6 feet to 6-foot-3, 160 to 180 pounds and 45 to 55.

#like how they say our dismal detective division has what an 18% clearance rate which means you have an 82% chance of never getting caught! With the lying dishonest media and lying pandering democrats involved no wonder any crime ever gets solved the problem is a "Black problem" simple as that not racist when it is "keeping it real" is it?

OT, concerning all the robberies this morning in the 017 district. I called the fest to inquire about color of the suspects and all I was given was “all races”, by Officer Williams. So something like this happens and even the districts are told to feed the public bs. Not all races committed the robberies, either black or light skinned. This happens all the time to organizations. It even happened to Microsoft not too long ago, there a Good Samaritan registered it for them and then gave it to Microsoft. The days of cyber squatting on domains for big money is pretty much over, although your organization can have a real hassle in going to court to get it back from a vindictive registrant. In the meantime you have an issue and a “price” of $5000 to get it solved can be easily worth it.

Excerpt:
My thanks to Streets & Sanitation for cleaning-up the disgusting mess St. Patrick's Day brought to downtown Chicago,” he tweeted Sunday morning. “No thanks to the thousands of drunk suburban kids who used our neighborhoods like a giant toilet bowl. Never ending cab horns from 1A-5A were a nice touch as well.”

The reality of it is that you'll be handling calls with mentals with or without CIT training. Why not get the training and be better prepared? Why is having more people trained to deal with what could potentially be one of the most dangerous calls a bad thing? Sounds like you're just afraid to have to deal with a mental disturbance. You're probably using the fact that you haven't been trained so you can duck mental calls. You probably should've kept quiet. Then other people would get the training and be able to handle your scary jobs for you.

-------

Of course you'll be handling mental calls if you're dispatched, regardless of whether or not you're trained. That's not the issue. The problem is when you're CIT trained and have to ride on other people's jobs just because 40 hrs of classroom training makes you qualified. In my experience, the people ducking calls are the CIT trained officers and FTOs who aren't answering up when a request is made. Read the general order on force mitigation, you're required to request a CIT officer for mental disturbances.

If everyone considered it useful training, then why haven't more officers signed up? You must not be on patrol anymore. The increased liability for a job already overwhelmed with it isn't worth the risk

Most businesses in the real world work on a "30 day pay" agreement, where goods or services delivered are billed an then paid for within 30 days.

If you do business with Chicago you sign an agreement for 180 days. thats not a misprint, and is why the fire department pays $15 dollars for a gallon of bleach that you and I can get for .99 cents a gallon at Jewel.

The Sanctuary ID Program supplier/vendor was paid...twice already.

Slightly off topic :
Got a letter in the mail today, (timely letter, dated February 23, 2018) your Mayor is claiming to have raised the Homeowner Exemption on the next real estate tax bill in effort to reduce your tax bill.
What he doesn’t explain is who, what or where the Homeowner Exemption is.
“All Chicago homeowners will benefit from an Expanded Homeowner’s Exemption, which increases...by 43%, from $7000 to $10,000.”
Facts:
State law made the increase posssible as a compromise, but not without disputes.
This is a sham 2 year temporary freeze.
There is No Cook County Tax Reform, still the old archaic system.

Seems Rahm is backing Berrios.
Big praise for a $10,000 Homeowner Exemption - Thanks Joe!

A low information taxpayer will see this a Democrat Pot O’ Gold.
The reduction in Equalized Assessed Value.
I might see a as much as $200 reduction in next years total tax bill.
What Rahm doesn’t mentioned is all the tax increases coming for CPS and Park District, and of course a considerable rise in your Property Market Value.

So bottom line is, Rahm is going to cry broke again.
In 2 years, the tax freeze expires and the shit will hit the tax fan again...with or without Rahm.

Don’t forget to VOTE tomorrow.
Use a Democrat Ballot and DUMP PRICKWANKER.

I want to say something snarky in regards to the private sector, but unfortunately I'm reminded of that one time my corporate employer lost the domain for one of our brands because some dumbass executive had put the renewal fee on his personal expense card and then later left the company. The general problem here is that in most organizations, public and private, top level leadership completely fails to grasp what IT actually does and consequently treats IT management roles as a dumping ground.

Since the dead have always been active in Chicago, maybe a resurrected Jerry Lewis could host a telethon to keep the lights on and the computers running. As always, it's for the children.

“The new car wash and 36th and Halstead took 45 minutes and it was a Tuesday. . It is a hand car wash with two guys that have a scrub brush and a hose. Once you get inside you were stuck in there with 8 to 10 other cars. It’s going to be a three hour ordeal on a Saturday or Sunday”

Last I checked you get paid the same whether your inside the car wash or out? Be careful what you bitch about they made have a hose and a bucket at the station and you’ll have to wash it yourself . Btw it’s Halsted St. try reading the street sign.

It’s not new..... it’s been around for years.
Yes it’s a hand car wash which isn’t really conducive to “getting a quick car wash”
They’ve also been known to swipe change etc. left in cars so beware of what you leave in your car.

I have used the wash at 36 Halsted for 10 years. Yeah they take a little longer but do a better job on the inside than the quick wash. And I have never had anything turn up missing.

-----------

Assisted on a mental call where CIT officer was requested. After spending 2 min with this nut, CIT officer realized this mental was crazier than 2 squirrels in burlap sack. CIT officer turns to officers who got original job and asks them what they want to do with him. Moral of the story, you cannot take a 16 hr crash course in psychiatric crisis and be expected to have expertise on handling all mental disturbances. There are people who educated and licensed in this field with years of study and clinical experience - start calling them to handle this bs.

3/19/2018 09:51:00 AM

You have that wrong. JL was in the big class of 250 in 1996. The Sgt in question was Chuck Salvatore who said something that pissed off many people, one of who was Maria Soto Maher. She wrote a letter to the Sup. and Chuck was dumped. JL wouldn't have the smarts or balls to do that.
