Serious Discussion Time

Is it time for a realistic look at arbitration? Before everyone gets all huffy about us even bringing it up, relax. The FOP has done a fine job so far holding the line on what will and won't be discussed. Everything we've heard leads us to believe they have not even acknowledged Rahm's efforts to gut discipline, which means it won't be before the arbitrator. But there are recent developments that members should be paying attention to in order to be aware of what's in play.

First the Teachers Union just had an election, and their president is playing the asshole card early:
  • The president of the Chicago Teachers Union easily won re-election after ballots were counted late Friday and immediately issued a warning to the incoming mayor, Lori Lightfoot, who was not endorsed by the labor group.

"We hope that the new mayor makes good on her promises to transform our public schools," said Jesse Sharkey after winning re-election with 66% of the vote. "If she does, she will find us to be a steadfast ally. If she does not, she will find us to be an implacable foe."

The union, which represents around 25,000 teachers and other education workers in a district with 400,000 students, had endorsed Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle in the mayoral election.
The CTU backed the loser (Prickwrinkle) and now are making demands on an administration that hasn't even been sworn in yet. Not the way to make a first impression.

Then there is the current financial situation going from bad to worse:
  • There’s a reason city finances were excluded from the 110-page transition report delivered Friday to Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot.

Lightfoot is buying time to get her arms around a budget shortfall she claims is infinitely “more dire” than the newly revised $700 million figure outgoing Chief Financial Officer Carole Brown has acknowledged.

The last thing Lightfoot wants is to have a public airing — and potential flogging — of the painful tax increases and budget cuts being kicked around by her task force on budget and financial issues chaired DePaul University CFO Jeffrey Bethke.
So Rahm lied (again) and stuck Lightfoot with the extensive bill.

It should not be impossible to discuss that the PBPA had the correct idea. With the financial situation being what it is, why not arbitrate? Discipline is off the table since the FOP refused to discuss it, the raise is left to the arbitrator and he must consider the current economic boom along with comparable raises across the spectrum, and when the inevitable tax hikes are presented, the FOP can shunt the blame over to Sharkey and the CTU - they'll look unreasonable, greedy and they'll strike, which will really tick off taxpayers.

Discuss. Civilly.

Yes, it is 100% time to file for arbitration. FOP needs to take advantage of their position. Continue to fight and hold the line. Just because the lying snake Rahm isn’t going to be the mayor anymore, doesn’t mean the city gets a “do over” It doesn’t matter who was or is going to be the mayor. It’s the city we we’re attempting to negotiate with. The city always fucks over their police every single time the contract expires, so why wait any longer. It’s nearly two years now. Are we supposed to wait another two, making it 4 years? Let’s go!

CPS and the teachers union are the main reasons for Chicago’s financial crisis. The CTU threatens and demands all kinds of unreasonable things every time. The leadership acts like mob bosses. Then the politicians give them whatever they want because they fear a strike. They endorsed preckwinkle thinking she’d screw the taxpayers for some sweet contract. Question? What happens when enrollment continues to drop because of the screwing taxpayers got and now teachers are laid off? You’re hearty raise(again)won’t matter with no job. I’d love to see Lightfoot pull a Ronald Reagan on the CTU if they strike and order them back to work or be fired. Then start from scratch.

Teachers are always striking somewhere. But you usually see the parents and kids supporting the teachers on the lines. The teachers and parents then provide daycare and alternative classes for the kids while they are on strike. They are clever, so then the parents are feeling sorry for them and support more pay & benefits.

Lower retirement age to 50 (or at least 53) with healthcare for the guys that came on at 21-25 and have their 29 & a day. We shouldn’t be penalized/held captive because we came on young.

Ensure our pension is fully funded and cap it at lieutenants rate. END GOLD BRAID pensions.

Allegations of cheating on promotional exams MUST be thoroughly investigated, particularly when a whistleblower drops a dime and provides evidence to corroborate the claim. All proven involved MUST be fired and criminal charges brought. This goes for any/all past promotional exams where it can be reasonably proven that it was compromised. There’s no statute of limitations on Official Misconduct, so start hammering the involved scammers from bottom to the top.

Just a few things that immediately come to mind. This place is almost beyond fixing, but these things would be a good start and go a very long way with boosting morale.

We also need to consider that Pritzker, in typical democratic fashion, is going to raise taxes. Are Democrats incapable of managing a budget? Can they not reduce spending? Here's a start, welfare fraud, unlimited welfare with no time limits. Drug test to receive welfare, that would reduce that by more than half on the state level. I just saved you billions.

I wasn't in New York City in 1975 for the NYC financial meltdown. But I read about it when I was here in High School.

There was big talk about a Federal Bailout, but President Gerald Ford wouldn't do it. The New York Daily News ran headlines:

"Ford to NYC - Drop Dead".

The remnants of Richard Nixon's 49 out of 50 state landslide Presidential victory was still around to insult the elite NYC, East Coast Liberal/Leftist elites so regular folks in fly over state were folding their arms and thinking

"Serves them right".

Bailing out Liberal Leftist always better than us New York City was about as popular as bailing out the American bashers in the United Nations.

So now we have similar things brewing here in our Chicago:

Economic Conservatives, pay your bills conservatives are now thinking

"Chicago spends what $ 9 billion a year on their public schools, which pretty much suck and are dominated by hard core Antifa, Blacklivesmatter, Communists - why should we bail Chicago out?"

Those of us Left behind in Chicago don't really have a lot of choices other than to keep a stip upper lip and gut it out as we fantasize about fleeing somewhere, anywhere.

Bugging out in some cabin in Alaska or Montana isn't a viable option unless you've got a pioneer wife that you want to spend a lot of time with. Anybody thinks you'll get a woman miseducated at Northwestern, Depaul or even the University of Chicago ? - don't think so, she'll leave you stay here and join the libs, lesbians in Lightfoot, or fall for NPR propaganda that what we need is David Axelrod to come up with another savior to bring us all together like Barack Obama - maybe Michelle Obama, Oprah...

It's not just Chicago that's f*$&*$*@#.

Ok, so the CTU will be flexing its muscle against the new Mayor, while they churn out unemployable "children" who can't read, write, speak clearly, do any kind of math, who "graduate" under the no-child-left-behind policy.
What is their budget? Per last years report, it costs over 21K to EDUCATE each student, which is higher than most colleges per year. They don't pay for their own health insurance, they only pay a pittance of their pension cost.......and they are already threatening a strike?

And on the HOMEFRONT.......the Illinois Housing Authority just gave the green light and tax money to the ARENA project at 5150.......
Gonna be 75 units devoted to vets and disabled......yeah, right, with an additional 20% of Housing Voucher recipients......which will be built by out of town developers who would NEVER allow this in THEIR hometown.......another big F.U. To the taxpaying, hard working public.
Maybe the MSM can finally get some investigative skill and see what kind of money that Arena is tied into with this scam.

Simple solution:

Since we’re being all transparent-like, I demand a complete forensic audit of the TIF funds.

Furthermore, the process by which TIF funds are dispersed needs a complete overhaul. You know... more transparency on who gets how much and why. What are the contractually guaranteed benefits to the city and its citizens for throwing a couple hundred mil to connected development firms to build a new riverwalk or village on land that’s been contaminated by scrap metal recyclers for over a century?

Until such forensic audit is complete and it can be shown that benefits actually trickle down to the taxpayers who fund such pet projects, all TIF spending needs to be suspended.

In the meantime, funds from that giant, unregulated piggybank need to be applied to making whole the pension obligations of CPD and CFD. Fuck the CTU until they come back to planet Earth and start ponying-up more than 2% towards their generous pension plan for what is essentially a part time gig. Furthermore, same TIF funds can be used to for retroactive pay and healthy raises moving forward once our contracts are settled via arbitration.

Only once all financial obligations are met should Mayor Frog Eyes even entertain the thought of tossing around TIF $$$ as if it were disposable income like Mayor Racoon Eyes was known to do.

Cut the waste, Lightloafers!!!

Nixing the wannabe CPD “bodyguards” was a decent start. Now here’s a few suggestions off the top of my head:

* cut take home cars for Fort Fellatio pincushions and nonessential armed secretaries.
* Ditto narcotics and intelligence unit POs who drive takehome coverts but work in administrative positions.
* We don’t need 15-20 house mice in every district to man the front and CAPS offices.
* Cut Alderthiefs to one per police district with perhaps a list of unpaid standby “pool” alderthiefs to fill in temporarily when the indictments come down.
* Streets & Sans can run garbage trucks with 2 slugs since wheeled cans and hydraulics have eliminated 95% of the muscle necessary to empty cans.
* Same goes for the clowns cutting trees, replacing street lights, pouring curbs and gutters and fixing broken water mains/sewers: drive past any one of these jobsites and you’ll see half of these slugs either standing around talking or sitting in their vehicles sleeping or playing fucking candy crush.

Trim the fat, Mizz Mayor!!!

Property taxes keyed to market value assessment.

Market value perceived as actual value to property owner.

Market value only actual value IF:

Property sold

OR

Property collateral for loan.

Thus:

Property tax determned in this manner is inherently an injustice committed upon many.

BECAUSE:

1. To be compelled to sell, to realize actual market value, is to induce the market to reduce that value.

2. To be compelled to borrow is to choose to indebt oneself merely to remain under the thumb of fascist democrat dictatorship.

3. This is a self spiral flushing down the toilet of the entire region's economic viability.

All for what purpose?

All to what desired end result?

Gluttony.

Greed.

Avarice.

Vanity.

We have way to many "teachers," way to top heavy also the massive management 6 figure car and drivers club and they want more! They pay little into pensions get 80%, return work 7 months a year full salary fantastic benefits and allowed to live outside the city. They should be made to be residents this way they can enjoy their kids they taught and watch them grow and be whatever they want to be.

Oh and Lori is having this serious discussion;
Lightfoot poised to lead historic conversation about race in Chicago

https://chicago.suntimes.com/2019/5/19/18629756/lori-lightfoot-race-chicago-racism-laura-washington

*In her roles as president of the Chicago Police Board and chair of the Police Accountability Task Force, she learned firsthand the insidious ways that, for more than a century, Chicago has dismissed people of color, as their communities suffer on the receiving end of police misconduct, corruption, disrespect and discrimination.

Policing Chicago-style “has not adequately taken into account the segregation in our city and that race does matter,” she told National Public Radio shortly after her April 2 election.

@Yet again the root cause is police, yes not that the black "children" cause so much chaos and heartache, nope not that this would take a real "discussion,' maybe she can do that barry obama saying and say the police are "acting stupidly," follow his lead he is another who have set the course for disaster to law abiding people/folks in this corruption filled city! Yes Lori lets have that discussion why are "your people," so darn violent? Why? Lori it is not racism when it is realism,Lori you rose to be a U.S.attorney,and big shot at the law firm how did you do it? Was it the race card played of just education? yes Ma'am a real discussion, real people a story always has 2 sides and in the middle is the truth right Lori?

Lastly why are the neighborhoods predominately minority looking like excuse the vulgarity shit? trash everywhere, buildings falling down but the people/folks have cell phones,cars,snap/link cards, expensive gym shoes, why not try a novel approach if you can work you work or zero welfare? How about this drugs are a problem we all know that no matter what race mandatory drug testing you fail welfare is removed from not just your but your household that would be "change we can believe in!"

The faster the financial ruination the better for all. They can only bleed us financially up to a point including the business community. Expose the Democrats and their Machine for what they are now. Lightfoot is only good for about six months. She is doomed to failure on many fronts thanks to the Midget and the Daily fiasco's.

Financials will come to another boiling point soon. The fat tax cheating hog in Springfield will get what he wants on our "economic backs". More money from us and soon dope for all. Smart people will continue to flee Illinois. Democratic voters put these pigs at the public trough. Now feed your pigs as they are standing in their own $hit, at and hungry as ever.

The whole system is based on over taxing your hard earned money. If their isn't enough. The pigs will come up with more scams. The money is the key to the pigsty. Financially the pigsty will burn down. The sooner the better.

Everyone should take time to read Lori's reform plan, especially about police reform. Then read some of her press releases as to who is in charge of running various parts of the reform plan and associated offices. What we have here is a social justice plan that is heavy on the social justice Community support and resources. Same old $hit repackage under her progressive reform banner and the media loves it. New rainbow criminals to run the the same old Machine.

You will note in the police reforms section there is lots of task forces (mixed with fed and police) to hunt down those bad guys buying guns, more community police training, mobile ballistic crime labs, more cameras, violence as a community health crisis, new office of Public Safety to oversee police, fire & OEM. Also increase the murder clearance rate, officer accountability, dope for all and everyone's favorite - no longer cooperating with ICE. There is more of the same in the plan but you already know the other stuff.

What's missing is where is the additional manpower to do all this good stuff. We have barely enough personnel to conduct basic patrol operations. Where is the money to purchase the new equipment. Where is all that money going coming from to implement this social justice reform plan. It's all about the money. It's always about the money. This reform plan has more social justice bull$hit than the Midget could ever imagine.

Get ready everyone, Lori has a brand new line of progressive "snake oil" ready to sell. We are all going to the poor house on this one. Tax, tax and more tax. The next four years are going to be painful but great to watch.

I was under the impression there haven't been any meetings between the city and the union.

The city does not pay for the cars for units in BOC. That is 1505 funds. Get the facts straight before you talk out your ass. State Law dictates how 1505 funds are spent not local mayors of any jurisdiction.

Do the 1505 funds write a check monthly for the gas and upkeep on those cars, or is that provided by the local jurisdiction ???.
That's great if it does, but I'm guessing that's not how it works. Maybe the city can't really afford all the 'free' cars.

Everyone in a rush are the same idiots who think that their retro is sufficient to put down on an 80k car; or they blow it at a casino. The newer officers as well need to realize that this is possibly the most important contract ever. If we get screwed, fetal should look aggressive compared to what activity they shall receive. By the way, the majority of teachers are crybaby socialists who only pay 2% into their pensions. I’m beyond tired of these greedy hacks.

I can definitely agree with you On the $80,000 vehicle, Especially the jacked up jeep wranglers with a tactical guys and they look at me look at me you guys driving them those are well over $60,000. Went to the credit union the other day to get a small loan for a vehicle yes the loan officer what is the average payment for Chicago police officers the average copper is paying $700 a month or more for a vehicle and you wonder why you say you have no money because you’re an idiot sorry does the truth hurt?

Seattle got a little over 17%. They got 3%+ each year. If you wear a body cam, it's also another 1-2%. They also top out at 106 at 54 months. If you really want to hammer the city, get rid of our salary schedule. Top out within 10 years, not the 25-30 year schedule we have. Do not keep letting the contracts go expired. We are de-facto lending the city money at 0% until they pay us a retro check. That retro check is face value of a bond with 0% coupon. The city pays institutional investors 8% on the junk bonds they release. 8% vs 0% makes us look ignorant.

Why not offer anyone with over 20yrs the opportunity to live outside the city, those officers have paid their fair share to the city.
