Special Ed Traveling Roadshow

  • This week’s installment of what Mayor Lori Lightfoot likes to call “Accountability Monday” went on without Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson — and it was the best one yet.

A first weekend of summer that ends with “only” four people dead and 20 shot is considered good news in Chicago. That’s how relentless gang violence has been in this city.
No idea where the Sun Times is getting their numbers - it isn't from HeyJackass, but they're pulling them out of somebody's ass, that's for sure.

Where was Special Ed?
  • Johnson is in Washington, D.C., for the third leg of a four-part series of recent trips. He has criss-crossed the country over the last week for meetings his office called “central to CPD’s policy and crime-fighting agenda.”

The first trip saw Johnson travel to Philadelphia for the Major Cities Chiefs’ Association Executive Leadership meeting. There, Johnson spoke on “policing issues,” his staff said, without disclosing the specific topic.

After that, Johnson went to New Orleans for a meeting on officer morale and suicide, a subject that, unfortunately, hits close to home.

The third and fourth meetings will take Johnson to Washington twice this week. On Monday, he was in the capital for what his staff called a “series of prosecutorial meetings” with the Department of Justice and the Police Executive Research Forum.
Hmm. Nothing in Aruba. Must be a "working vacation." Groot takes those, too.

If the leader of the second largest police department in the country has to go to other cities to see how things are done maybe we have the wrong guy leading this department. Wouldnt that be something that a really small town sheriff or police chief does?

Why in the dam hell does Rahm the ex-mayor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, AKA the old mayor, retired mayor, gone from office mayor,: still have around the clock police personnel from 019 still keep a entire detail on him and his house 24/7? Thats a lot of dam cops who should be riding in beat cars which half the time they are DOWN because we have no manpower. Funny how that works! Is this legal and fair to the 19th district residents who lose police officers assigned to 19 to keep them at a old, retired mayors house? Where the dam outrage? Oh I forgot, we need to keep "special spots" for special people from 019 for another ten years to protect mayors that are long gone and retired, oh I forgot how Chicago Police, the city of nepotism and corruption works. Why doesn't rahm hire private security officers to protect him, oh wait, remember we can not question anything in CPD because that would require a brain!

Now the brass of the CPD go anywhere, ANYWHERE, looking for magic beans to bring back to solve the violent crime problem.
These are the three steps EVERY other police department uses to fight crime:
1. Arrest armed criminals
2. Prosecute armed criminals
3. Incarcerate armed criminals

Don’t fall for the “get married-start a family” social pressure trap. Princess will flip a 180 after she’s got you by the balls yet you’ll always be viewed as the abuser. Your financial wellbeing and social life will be ruined. I see it all the time. My advice to any young kid out there. No kids, no wife, no liability and date multiple women at any given time. When you carry yourself right, lift weights and avoid marriage life is stress free and amazing.

Not surprising. They’re being forced to hire very questionable applicants due to the lack of interest in the CPD. Residency is a killer for the growth and strength of the CPD. Law enforcement is a very undesirable job already and forcing someone to only reside in Chicago is a major turn-off. Departments all over America recognize this and get applicants from all over. Out of state laterals too.

New Orleans PD also is still under a consent decree. So perhaps that's why it was picked as a trip destination. Though I would think they would pick larger cities that really had a low crime rate for their size and with a well run force. Interesting article from last year about their "progress". "The new report, filed Tuesday (April 10, 2018), points out several areas where monitors say the department should focus on improvements, including officer "training; bias-free policing; stops, searches, and arrests; close and effective supervision; and community engagement." Still the black folks are not happy according to this. "There was more skepticism in the black community. A majority of African Americans "felt that the NOPD engaged in racial profiling, expects to be harassed by the NOPD, and did not see the NOPD as credible," the report said. Ya just can't win. https://www.nola.com/crime/2018/04/nopd_has_made_major_progress_u.html

*****Not only that, but 3rd watch and midnights still have at least 4-5 people sitting on his empty house along with a roving car...NOW thats un fuckin believable!!! yet, no one cares, what a waste of manpower. Perhaps we need to mention that at the beat meetings when residents ask about manpower and see what their reaction would be.

If the leader of the second largest police department in the country has to go to other cities to see how things are done maybe we have the wrong guy leading this department. Wouldnt that be something that a really small town sheriff or police chief does?

He's travelling so that he's not here as the murder-rate sky-rockets this week with hot temperatures finally arriving in earnest here in Chicago. Probably safer to be in the air seated in an airplane than down here catching heat for doing nothing to reverse crime-rate occurring on his supposed watch. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Instead of belittling and accusing the patrol division of being racist support them for caring enough to be aggressive. Hire a young articulate Superintendant whose not afraid to get his hands dirty and backs his troops and things change will overnight
