The Other Shoe Drops

  • A former Chicago police officer was sentenced Wednesday to almost 6 years in prison after being convicted earlier of fraudulently obtaining search warrants and stealing cash and drugs from places he was searching, officials said.

    U. S. Judge Matthew F. Kennelly handed out a 71-month sentence to David Salgado after a hearing in Chicago. Last month, Salgado’s former partner was sentenced to seven years and three months, officials said.

Salgado, 39, and Elizondo, 48, both of Chicago, were assigned to a gang team in the Tenth District conspired to produce false information to state judges in order to get search warrants to enter properties to seize cash and drugs, officials said.
Someone said these two used to write search warrants for some other teams, too. Teams that ended up producing a few of the current command staff.

Is this the end of one scandal or the beginning of another? It might explain the gutting of certain Homan Square units.

Were these the "steakhouse" search warrants?
Or was that another rogue team?

6 years isn’t long enough in my opinion.
And X deserved longer as well.

You have both tarnished our uniform, and disrespected all of us past, present, and future- in particular those who we have buried that gave the ultimate sacrifice. We have buried people for that uniform and what it represents.

You were both selfish and shit all over everything honorable that most of us use as a compass every single day.
Throw away the key on both of them as far as I’m concerned.

"What a clever idea" !!! Get search warrants to enter premises, then seize contraband, and cash. Inventory small portion of items seized, arrest and charge the inhabitants with the products inventoried. What could go wrong with that ?
News Flash for anyone committing or planning to commit criminal activity. It's all been done before, and it does not end well.
In my era, if you were honest, and blessed to receive a pension for twenty years, you reaped more, than any of these scams every produced.

both wrong. The Feds used false info for search warrants, surveillance and wiretaps for political reasons. The cops used this to make money for themselves.

We find out what’s really involved in the Johnson saga
When will we hear about the redline escalator shooter
Who sent the police to Rush’s office, proving they really didn’t do anything wrong

Should have been 60 years. The public has a right to expect that police officers are honest. These fucks, and I've known more than my share, deserve nothing less than hard prison time. People generalize, and you can't expect John Q. to hold the police in esteem when you have shitheads like these guys.

-----------

How many trained police officers die every year doing traffic stops?

Now imagine an untrained, unarmed road worker doing the same?
He/She will be lucky if they just get laughed at.
This will last until the first hopefully only just a beating, and not a death.

They did the crime and now they must do the time. I get it. What I don't get is how someone can knowingly cash checks that don't belong to him, which are paid by taxpayers, yet only get probation and fine? That was something that could be proven was done for many years. Why didn't the feds charge that guy? Both are wrong incidents but I'd rather have criminals be robbed than taxpayers

Hey dumb ass before you write some bullshit like this get your facts straight, those PO's were convicted on hear say, there was never any concrete evidence product in court only the word of the drug dealers. Those guys were used to feather Dan Webb's cap. No supervisor's from Ten were promoted from this incident to exempt rank as a matter of fact the commander of ten was Tom Hughes who attended the trial of these guy and who later was dumb to a watch commander I believe it was either 15 or 12 so get your facts straight and I know because I work in 10 at the time and knew each and everyone of the guys from 10. They all worked second jobs so if they were stealing drugs and money they didn't need too and they had no hidden band accounts and no bank rolls. So fuck off with your bullshit
