Another EM Murderer Loose

The Crimesha / Dart Circus of Incompetence strikes again:

  • A Chicago man released on electronic monitoring while awaiting trial on murder charges is being sought in Ohio after he allegedly pulled a gun on sheriff’s deputies during a traffic stop there and then evaded arrest.

Juan Torkelson, 28, was charged in Cook County in June with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the fatal stabbing of one person and the wounding of three others in a 2019 attack on the Northwest Side.

On May 30, Torkelson was ordered held on $100,000 bond with electronic monitoring as a condition of his release if he posted the necessary $10,000, according to court records and the Cook County sheriff’s office.

He was placed on electronic monitoring June 25 after posting bail, the office said in a written statement to the Tribune on Saturday

Murder.....and he's even eligible for any sort of bail, let alone an electronic bracelet? Can anyone guess what happened?

  • About 1 a.m. Oct. 28, two sheriff’s deputies in Madison County, Ohio, pulled over Torkelson for equipment issues with his vehicle and for following too closely to another car, said Madison County Sheriff’s Lt. Bryan White.

White said it took a few minutes for Torkelson to pull over. When he did, the deputies approached the vehicle on foot, Torkelson pulled out a gun and the deputies heard it click, White said.

The deputies then took cover, and Torkelson apparently drove off. Torkelson’s vehicle then crashed and he fled on foot, White said.

He's still on the loose at last report. Had he murdered the officer, that would have been on Crimesha's and Dart's hands.

And we still haven't seen any in-depth media reports on the nearly 500 inmates from Cook County - many for violent felonies - that Crimesha released and Dart can't find, demonstrating how Dart controls the coverage of his incompetence by hiring spouses, offspring and actual former media persons for six-figure jobs.

Interesting name. But WTF, 10k bail, for murder. I think DuPage offenders get that for retail theft.

Up until 1963, Illinois had bail bondsmen like other states. In the other states if you miss your check in those private bondsmen (bounty hunters) will track you down to the ends of the earth. And Illinois refuses to cooperate with bondsmen from other states who are seeking the return of criminals that BFW on them. The system in Illinois really works, doesn't it, for the criminals that is.

I have to say, I thought I was immune to crazy stories related to how the new bond system has failed at this point. But my jaw dropped with this one... I had to read it 3 times to make sure I hadn't missed some zeros in the bond amount. Dude is charged with one murder and several counts of attempt murder for stabbing an additional 3 people and he gets a $100K D bond? I hope the media digs deeper into this one and takes a look at what Foxx's office requested for bond at the hearing. And the media should not just let them hide behind the old "we request a reasonable or significant bond" BS at bond the court so that they can pin it on the judge later.

My uncle was a bail bondsman back in the day. It's a crazy line of work, and he was a real character.
