Whoops
A person of interest is in custody after a resource officer misplaced his gun while using the bathroom at a northwest suburban school Monday afternoon, leading to the cancellation of classes on Tuesday.
According to Arlington Heights police, the incident unfolded just prior to school dismissal at Forest View Educational Center, located in the 2100 block of South Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights.
Police say the school resource officer removed his firearm from his duty holster while using the restroom, but realized the gun was missing shortly after students were dismissed for the day.
The resource officer searched the restroom for the gun, but did not locate it and contacted authorities to help in the search.
The gun wasn't located that day, but a review of security footage has led to an arrest of a "person of interest."
Any bets if Porkulous and Kwame will insist on more gun restrictions because Indiana has looser laws that enable gun running over the border?

A Cicero guy left a gun in Our Lady of the Ghetto bathroom..
Made it back in 15 minutes....complete panic....he bought breakfast.
Good guy....
Opportunity to design second holster rig, to move firearm to, perhaps, center mass location, so officer cannot forget and yet not be impeded from any motion needed to successfully complete all required task involed.
🤔
The "School Resource Officer" should be fired by now. There is absolutely NO REASON to remove a handgun from the holster unless you are putting it into a safe or using it. -Enough said.
This is an Alternative School.
How many times has this happened when taking a dump? I worked in a truck stop during the pandemic and this happened in one of our bathrooms.
This happened in 005 a couple months ago by a three year wonder CAPS officer, gun never found, and her reward now is being the Tact secretary
This is far too common worked at the airport not a lot, but Secret Service FBI coppers left their guns in the bathrooms. How can you not be cognizant enough to know your gun is hanging there or laying on the toilet the most important item you carry and yet you forget it, and if this kid would’ve shot somebody, it would’ve gotten 1000 times worse
I guess you never had to take a shit on duty....your not the Police. I hope you were being sarcastic!!!!
Pretty shitty situation
ok, now that you vented, go upstairs and eat the breakfast your mommy made
And if a misfire occurs?
Has the "resource" officer been fired? And why are they using the student bathroom anyway?
Fired? Shut up
What ever happened to "Finders keepers, losers weepers"?
Idiot cops, signed: retired Cpd.
The way this state is headed police will probably someday soon be just like the U.K. with most coppers being unarmed social workers and a limited number of real coppers who will be legally required to scream “ARMED POLICE” everywhere they go so the armed criminals have ample opportunity to resist.
I bet he really took a #2 in his pants when he realized what happened
Dropping trou to dump is a good reason to. Best practice is set it in your underwear.
Some copper left his gun in an academy bathroom in the workout room. Don’t understand the need to take your gun out the holster when taking a dump. Let’s start a campaign. Don’t pump and dump.
Pilots at OHare have done it too.
Perhaps being allowed access to the teachers facilities might help. Doesn't mean a teacher wouldn't steal if he found it tho'...
It's been awhile, but last i was there at Area North it was still there. During the joint CPD/FBI investigation of the murders at the judge's house, an agent hung his rig on the door to booth 1 in the Dets dump room. Gun discharges, denting the door of the toilet, ricochets off the ceiling and impacting the wall next to the sink. SShhhhh.
Ever try taking a dump with a loaded holster on?
Ohhhh, those are the best!... Lol
Huge brain cramp.
Thousands of coppers take dumps every day and 99.9 percent don't do this.
This is one way to figure out the 0.1 percent who shouldn't be police officers.
I remember one of the school officers at Prosser high school in 025 would leave his patrol carbine in the squad car in the school parking lot.
So, why even bring it to work?
Love when they hang the pistol by the trigger guard on the bathroom door.
Maybe not allow the school resource officer to be armed? Send in a "Violence interrupter" instead.
Obviously this troll never had that special cramp which occured before all hell broke loose!
This happens more then you think. It happened in Austin a number of years ago in one of the station shitters. Another officer found the gun, brought it to the WC who quietly ran the s/n and returned the gun the officer who only suffering a verbal beating.
"person of interest"? wtf, Finders Keepers.
So if you have to take a dump you should just let your gun hit the floor or should you just hold ur dump till you get home so you can put it in a safe lol idiot. Enough said
When I was in school the "Resource Officer" was a nun who carried a foot long ruler!
At least she's not on the street!! In a few years she tell youi how her police activity got her an inside position!
if i really had to take a dump in a public restroom i'd put my gun on top of my underwear around my ankles never lost a pistol for those who go commando don't know what to say other than:
"chicks dig me because i rarely wear underwear and if i do its usually something unusual"
Stripes 1981
Where’s the aldercreature to suggest a charge of “patrolman pistol abandonment? “
You’re ignorant , enough said
Ok I'm not police. Retired fire. Pretty simple. If you have to remove the pistol from the holster, drop your pants and put it on top of underwear and pants.
I have seen this in the CPD. I recall at least one police women in Mass Transit who left her gun in the bathroom of a downtown store. That wasn't the only dumb thing she did but this one involved her firearm.
Former police chief in Aurora left hers in the bathroom of a bar. Her wife took the fall for it. After she retired, she never worked in law enforcement again. Wonder why?
Years ago we had a female officer in 005 leave her weapon more than once in the bathroom at Roseland hospital. She ended up making rank but she always had an attitude about her foibles and never thanked the officers that kept finding her weapon. Entitled b.
Sounds like she shouldn’t have worked in law enforcement before retirement
I think there was a “luscious” Lt who lost her gun at the scene of a captain who was shot in 7. I believe she got promoted…
Copper had to make a load. WTF
They got the kid, found the guns sight, but no gun. Kid and family are all illegal here
A misfire of what?
Sitting upon the throne, the shitter misfires a fart and then?
Standing at the urinal, the pisser misfires and the streams are crossed?
Just where on the body would a second holster, empty at all times except when needed to not put sidearm anywhere else, then returned to duty holster after completing all required tasks, and what now?
Same place, early 80's, walked into police room head and saw the duty belt hanging from the door. As I'm contemplating my next move, a state trooper, tires squealing, pulls in lot. Sweat pouring down his mug, he barely said thanks and ran out the door
Nobody checked her fat rolls.
Then there was the second district lieutenant who reported her 9mm missing, only to find it a year later when clearing out her basement locker upon being transferred. OOOPS.
How about paying attention and keeping your gun with you? Hang it on the stall coat hook.
"It's 10pm. Do YOU know where your gun is?"
Save you a lot in future child support too...
Is that classified as a misfire?
