Still Beating a Dead Horse
Was anyone really waiting for this?
Mayor Brandon Johnson promised during his first month in office to “rebuild the social contract” with Black Chicago, beginning with the actual construction of a permanent memorial to former Chicago Police Cmdr. Jon Burge torture victims that was promised in 2015.
The “social contract” remains a work in progress, but the memorial is finally underway.
Burge was fired thirty-three years ago - there literally isn't a single Officer or Detective working today that served under Burge. Burge himself has been dead for almost eight years.
But he's still a boogeyman used to manufacture outrage, push all sorts of anti-police rhetoric and fund raise for crooked politicians who can't solve actual problems.

The best is not one of the accusations against him were ever proven in court of law. They put some bs perjury charge on him related to a civil case. This was a cash grab manufactured by corrupt attorneys to fatten the pockets of hysterical reverend and politicians. Now with everything on.video the outlandish claims ceased.
They should build a memorial for all the victims that had their money stolen from Aldermen over the last 100 years.
“……… Chicago taxpayers have paid more than $200 million in lawsuit settlements and judgments related to Burge’s conduct, including $5.5 million in reparations for torture survivors, approved in 2015 by the Chicago City Council…….”

So now Mayor BLM Brandon is going to spend even more money that the City does not have on a memorial. Over 200 million was not enough?
Burge should be the one getting the memorial
So how is the City going to raise that 4 million by selling vacant City lots for one dollar. It does not “add up”, must be the new math they teach at CPS.
The Cone is digging us deeper into debt.
Wondering when black Chicago might start rebuilding their social contract with the rest of society.
Brandon Johnson will gladly use money to spread the propaganda of racism instead of on The City. That money would better be used in the pension fund, hiring new officers, fixing streets, etc. But, the gas tax increased July 1, and, well, there are so many others, I'll let you read about them: https://civicfed.org/sites/default/files/2026-05/ChicagoConsumerTaxReport2026_0.pdf
How much of the Burge and midnight crew stories were fabricated by attorneys looking for big payouts. It’s amazing that some electric box was used to extract confessions, but never located. I call bull shit on 99% of those allegations.
Enough of the BS ghost scare tactics.
We are over it!
It is now just a tool for the parasite race baiter or snake oil lawyer trying to cash in one way or another on something from the far far past
and yet burge was never convicted of torture and not 1 torture case went to trial
When there is not enough racism to go around, one has to create it out of thin air...
Jon was a decorated Vietnam combat vet and a great detective. RIP
God Bless Jon Burge
That'll be a massive memorial.
In the meantime the 6% are terrorizing the rest of the country with their violence. When will that memorial site be built.
Amen!
he always got the job done
This coming from a man who can't pay a water bill? As Joe said, "C'mon, man!"
Amen to that brother!
He needs to shore up his voter base so his next proclamation will be about reparations.
I guess there was no hurry.
The "victims" have all been paid out. The fucker is using money he doesn't have to build something that is unnecessary.
Maybe he should use that money for something else....maybe the pension fund?
Have to reinforce the Culture of Victimhood....in case they forget.
Jon Burge is an American Hero!
Not one piece of corroborative evidence exists to support the claims of torture. No defendant claimed any of the types of torture during arrest procedure, trial, appeals. Until they spoke with G. Flint Taylor of the peoples law office after all avenues were exhausted. Only one defendant was consistent on his claims of abuse, with all the others repeatedly making inconsistent tales of torture. Jackie Wilson gave 15 statements in regards to his alleged torture by Burge and area 2 Detectives. Not once did Jackie give the same statements. All criminals need to do us say I was a victim of torture by police and new trial or release from jail and payout.
Or a memorial for all the victims of black on black violence. That would be huge and never ending.
A street corner with broken glass, Old English 40 oz bottles, cheap dollar store candles, mylar balloons, and cardboard poster is all you need. Get over it already.
The Obama library would be a good place for it.
Anthony Porter and “professor”protess (spl) of northwestern university journalism was the 1st case.porter went and sued in federal court.Porter lost the case.Northwestern fired protess.
The demand for racism far exceeds the supply
Why would he care?
It’s not his money…
Flint Taylor had a hard on for Burge. Was going to see that he was charged with something even though he did nothing. Taylor and his crew of lying criminals created that "black box".
The Brigade of the Dead Horse Beaters
Just like the SPLC.
AMEN to the above post... never proven guilty of any criminal allegations.
The stupid jagoff mayor said yesterday if Trump wants to help with crime he should fund more affordable housing in the city. Lmfao what a moron so the savages won't kill each other if you provide with more free housing? Yeah that's the cause of them shooting each other.
Yes, but when the liberals could not actually prove in court that confessions were a result of torture, they formed a state committee to recommend a retrial citing witnesses that have recanted or alleged torture that was never proven. The cases were then dropped.
L.A.Confidential was a work of fiction. So is the Jon Burge torture allegations.
It is suspicious that not one single Officer or Detective, at any point, corroborated those allegations. When things go down there are almost always whistle-blowers and/or leakers but yet crickets on this.
Dan Webb I believe
Construct a memorial... heh.
All of these items have costs associated with them which can be fed to friends, famibly, etc...
* Search for appropriate land/location
* Appraisal of the land/location
* Negotiate for the land/location
* Purchase the land/location
* Plan the layout and construction of the memorial...
* Back 'n forth on plans, produce final copies
* Quote/bids for construction of the memorial
* Open bids...
* Procure supplies, workers, fencing, temporary roads, protective covers for sidewalks, etc...
* Prep site, build memorial...
* Produce plaques, install
* Advertise the memorial
* Someone to manage the memorial
* Someone to clean the memorial
* Eventually rip the whole thing out and replace it...
* Sell tours of the memorial
* Compel classroom (double heh) lessons for students to learn about the 'torture victims'
* T-shirts
The possibilities are ENDLESS.... wooooo fat envelopes ya'll!
Say what you want about Burge, but when a heinous crime was committed, and good people lost their lives, Burge was the guy you wanted on the case……
Absolutely!
That would require the great wall of China to accomplish.
Or a peace treaty amongst the baby daddies.
Say it again "...not one of the accusations against him were ever proven in court of law"!
100%
Sounds like a Bears deal which I am so sick of hearing about! FTB's
They’re making one for Seiser as well
Ostensibly, Burge saved more lives that "mattered" than any PO before or since.
Yep Fuck The Bears!!!
Wait a minute it has been 85 years since Emmitt Till was beaten to death in another state for whistling at a white woman. Now they want a memorial for him too.
How about a memorial for the white girl that was set on fire by a psycho black man while ridding the CTA Blue line.
CPS replaced math with drag queen story hour.
amen brother, Oprah went to a benefit party and donated a big check to Burge.
that was when Police were the good guys and criminals were the bad guys.
Barry stereo divided this country with his hatred toward police.
the million dollar question, has the Obama Campus,Library been open to the public for free as a cooling center, has the basketball courts been used for midnight basketball. Have any teen gatherings occurred at the Obama Campus. Talk about a beautiful setting for teens to hang out during the afternoon and evenings.
