Does this "snap curfew" have geographical limitations like the Gang Loitering Ordinance did? Sight and Sound was order back in the day after numerous court battles.
And thirty minutes warnings will just give the violators a chance to go mobile and reassemble somewhere else. CPD is going to be purely reactionary during this and the kids would be able to outmaneuver the current brain trust at 35th Street with ease, especially if you have this moron running things:

Here is an idea. Arrest them, charge them with the highest possible charge, then incarcerated them. Then take away welfare entitlements from mama. That alone will result in ass whoppings. Then guess what, no more wildings. Hit them where it hurts. .
Arrest the teens, fine the parents/guardians and pursue prosecutions. Stop only dispersals and stop dismissing cases. Consequences for bad decisions/choices and lack of parental supervision must be the objective to send a message and assist in preventing out of control wildings that won’t be tolerated.
Hopkins doesn't care if they reassemble somewhere else, as long as it isn't in his ward. Can you blame him?

Superintendent Snelling and his staff were mentioned by a Alderman on the news. I started laughing. The Superintendent has no idea on how to stop what’s going on. Why not have zero tolerance with crime in these incidents. The people going down town are committing all kinds of crimes and very few arrests. No one has respect for the Police because we are watching crime go on and no one is being arrested.

Officers need to be concern each time the city council, Cook County State’s Attorney office, the department or any other entity give CPD officers authority to do anything. Without a doubt what you propose would be effective. These drive by shootings could also be mostly eliminated if the cops could stop and frisk. Neither of these solutions would be supported by the people you work for. Sure they would be willing to take the credit for the success, but they wouldn’t support the coppers doing the work. The cops are going to try to arrest one of these “kids just having fun”. The cops are going to get swarmed, the cops are going to fight for their lives, the jeering crowd will have their phones out, the worthless media “will have questions”, and the cops will get screwed like Hogan’s goat.
