That thing they say all their laws would prevent doesn't seem to have prevented shit. Again:

• An Atlanta man who unintentionally fired a gun while fighting with another man aboard a Red Line train was disarmed and beaten by the victim, who held him until Chicago police arrived, officials said.

  Rufus Hunley IV, 30, got into an argument with a Chicago resident as they rode the train near Sox Park around 9:30 p.m. on April 27, a CPD report said. At one point, the victim felt threatened, so he punched Hunley in the face “in self-defense,” according to the report.

  Hunley responded by pulling out a gun, pointing it at the Chicago man, and warning that he was “about to find out,” prosecutors say. He proceeded to hit the victim in the head with the firearm, causing it to fire a round on the train car, according to the CPD report. The bullet did not strike anyone.

  Prosecutors said the men fought for control of the firearm, with the victim emerging victorious. He proceeded to hit Hunley in the head repeatedly as Hunley attempted, but failed, to regain control of the firearm. The victim handed the gun over to police at the scene.

We still don't understand how this guy got a gun onto a CTA train. There are signs everywhere. Illinois doesn't even recognize any other state's licensing procedures. It's a complete mystery.
