Good Questions

From a regular e-mailer about the supposed ShotSpotter re-activation:

• 1. What company was granted the pilot program to replace shot spotter?
  
  
  2. Was that company the city’s selected RFP bidder who was, and I quote: “hands down, head-and-tails above all else”? 
  
  
  3. Or, was the company hand picked by BJ as a political favor bypassing the RFP committee process/selection sitting on the Chief Procurement Officer’s desk? Maybe a certain vendor who accompanied BJ on his trip to Rome (to see the Pope)? Possibly footing the extravagant bill for the pilot program ?!? 
  
  
  4. Was City Council notified of his decision to bypass the RFP process?? 

The speculation being that this isn't just a political calculation by Conehead seeking votes, but also a quid pro quo of a more financial nature - which many speculated about years ago that the right people weren't getting paid off when Conehead initially shut it down despite it being heavily supported by voters, aldercreatures and Larritorious.
