I saw that and was going to post it in the Sox thread. That freaking thing looked like it could have landed in Chicago.
I'm pulling for the Cards to get into the World series. A midwest championship series would be nice, and St. Louis is sorta nice, in a ghetto sorta way, especially when compared to places like [anywhere in] Wisconisn.

I drove around the Northside tonight, I couldn't believe my eyes. Not one sign congraulating the White Sox on their victory. Don't the Northsiders know that it was a victory for Chicago, or are they so use to backing a loser, they they can't get behind a winner. I don't remember seeing any "congrats" signs on the southside for the Cubs two years ago either, dumb fuck! Listen pal, I'm a die hard SOX fan, but ya know what? A few years ago when I THOUGHT they had a chance to go all the way, I was down at Wrigley rootin for them. They should be doing the same right now.
The Cubs won the wild card (big deal) and then choked. The Sox won the pennant and are going to the World Series by playing the old-fashioned way--pitching, defense, timely hitting, unselfish play. No gimmicks, no cute curses, no lovable losers, none of the cutesy Cub bulls&%* that the Trib Conglomerate force-feeds us constantly. Just good baseball. Go Go White Sox.

Dumbass - The CUBS won the division in '03.
As a diehard CUB fan, I think the only good thing that will come out of a SUX championship will be the TRIB uncorking a few more dollars so they're not shown up again by a team that will undoubtedly lose it's only real power hitter to free agency. Maybe they'll re-sign Paulie with all of the money that they are extorting out of their fans by making them buy season tickets in order to have a chance at seeing a World Series game. Maybe they'll sell those games out now.
