Banned Banned Banned

Comments are getting a little out of hand lately. We try to use a very light touch, continuing to publish upwards of 98% of those submitted. We've granted great latitude letting people roam and stray off subject with abandon. But in light of the recent craziness, it's time to yank the leash a bit. SCC has banned the following words from appearing on this blog:
  • Sean Flynn;
  • anything rhyming with Melvina, Paulina or Lunt when referring to females (corrected at the insistence of numerous readers);
  • Scotchbreath;
  • certain terms describing certain races or sexual proclivities;
  • just about anything dealing with 008 and 009 being full of _____ - this includes the "B" team commentary
  • anything that contradicts the fact that Sieser runs it.
We will also continue our previous bans on "DELETE," the three letter Spanish exclamation, most comments on the Area 2 gun team, and others about Area 1 females. Are we going to catch every single instance of these words being used? Probably not. But unless we see a specific reason to publish any of the above banned words or phrases, we're going to trash a bunch of comments for a week until it calms down a bit. You don't like it, too bad. We checked Blogspot and "008arepussies.blogspot" and "009bteamsux.blogspot" are still available. "Sieser_runs_it.blogspot" is taken however.

We also appreciate our readers defending us regarding a recent comment by a detective from Area 5. Unfortunately, the comments often ran afoul of the bounds of good taste, so we dumped a load of them. That doesn't mean we don't appreciate the thoughts. If he has a beef with us, that's on him and we're always available via e-mail. Let it be.

AMENDMENT TO ABOVE RULES: We'll still publish legit criticism of the "B" Team. We're just going to not publish the general personal attacks of the team (and if they're so good, why are they the "b" team?). As to the charges of censorship, we aren't obliged to publish any comments - but that'd be damn boring. We haven't been leaned on politically or professionally at this point in time and haven't heard from a lawyer since we slapped back at the Midway Sergeant's mouthpiece. Of course, we labeled all their e-mail as "spam" so who knows what's gone in the trash?

Its ruff being in charge. Just think you run a blog and have to generate rules every few months. Could you imagine a police department the size of Chicago.
Every one think that they can be the boss and do things better but when its time to man up well you see its not all that easy. Just a good "ole Boy" observation no offense.

SCC Wemaster, excellent decision. Although I have a problem with censorship, in this case some editorial license is long overdue. All too often we come across as a bunch of intolerant, jerks. Constant racial baiting, way too much negativity aimed at some officer who may one day be just the person to save another coppers ass. Let some of the mentally challenged return to the bathroom walls.

Has anyone catched "Crimewatch" lately? That propoganda show had me laughing my ass off!

According to Peter Karl, all of our cars have computers! And they are all state of the art Toughbooks that can access real time information and pods!

But the best was the Blackberries. The citizens of Chicago are lead to believe that we ALL, not just bosses, have Blackberries. They showed two guys from TRU on the beat with Blackberries that they use to access all this data.
blah blah blah....

If Joe Citizen had any idea on how under-equipped the street copper is his head would spin.
------------------------------------

Yet the media never reports that while the suburbs have state of the art pdt's/Tasers/shotguns/rifles, the street copper has NONE of that in violent Chicago.

How's that for a story media? I challenge you to report how under-equipped we are!

SCC, I applaud you on attempting to maintain some decorum of decency on the blog. I've noticed over the past few weeks that you've been allowing a whole lot of personally nasty stuff to get through. Hope you'll keep your guard up better than has been in the past. Nothing wrong with people venting..to a degree. But some of this stuff is just personal bad grapes and cowardice, and the people posting that stuff should exercise more restraint or get professional help. I don't think any copper would like to be blasted like some of the bosses have on this blog (and a lot of the stuff people write here doesn't have a shred of truth in it!). Everyone on this job, to some degree, lives in a glass house. Even the folks who run this website.

Today is MLK's birthday. Fillmo' memories...

I was working Beat 1114, a 2nd watch (Capt. Phil Moss) power car 10-99 on Friday morning, April 5, 1968.

The night before, MLK, the civil rights leader, was killed by a sniper on the balcony of a Memphis Motel.

It all started outside Goldblatt's at Pulaski and Madison where shouting mobs from three high schools (Marshall, Austin and Farragut) converged around noontime.

Within minutes, bottles and rocks were flying, the sound of breaking plate glass windows and all hell would break loose.

Endless reports of 10-1's everywhere. By dusk, many of the stores on Madison between Karlov and Kostner were raging infernos. Shots fired at the police, looters...the weekend from Hell had just begun. Just like the earlier Wilcox St. fire house riot, the worst stretch for the West Side rioting was Pulaski Rd. between Madison and the Ike.

Cmdr. Sims ordered all taverns and gas stations closed.

To the man, all the white and Negro officers were BLUE to the bone.

Oh, the stories we could tell...

It's about time SCC stopped the negative comments directed against us! SCC, You, should have been doing your job much sooner and prevent anymore blogs attacking the 9th Sistrict B team.
We're not going anywhere. The DC is proud of our constant effort and quality arrests.
I hope you are man enough to keep 009 comments against a great group of officers from returning. Your in a position to finally strengthen the unity amongst the 3rd Watch. How you ask?
Your in charge of the blog. By preventing negative comments to be seen, you will make things come to passed.
Thanks SCC for stopping the untruth blogs about the B team.

I believe a week is way too short and more like a slap of the hand. You even admitted you allowed things to get out of hand. You owe it your readers to make things right!!! Punish the bloggers by deleting all B team comments for a MONTH.
By then, all problems in 009 will be over and the B team will be fully established and accepted. Thanks for listening.

I noticed P-shades is fair game...wouldn't say he's insane, but he sure is on a DIFFERENT page. Hmmm...The Hartgrove hospital stuff may not be that far from the mark now that I think about it?
The guy was everywhere last night. Most NORMAL po's take it easy on a really rainy night when they are 10-99. You know...maybe doing a burglary report or traffic accident here and there?...Not that headcase! Seriously, he was answering domestics, gang disturbances, in-progress calls, man w/ gun calls and doing his dumbass contact cards in every sector AS IF he had a partner. Who knows? Maybe in his mind he thought he had a partner riding with him? Maybe he likes to hear himself on the radio? P-SHADES= NOT TOO BRIGHT!
Somebody needs to tell him to take it easy. Crime in 009 will not go away...Not to be rude, but beat cars don't really need your one-man backup either. Here's some advice for you:
Wait for YOUR backup MT...you are only one officer! Do you ever wonder why NOBODY wants to work with you? You read the blogs-officers don't like working with you. Why? You're out of control and don't know how to take things easy out there. Everything you do is the HARD way. While you were on IOD, your current partners (D.H/K.H) were saying you are way too aggressive and high strung for the park car. Park car? Says something doesn't it? Take this as advice so that you'll change your ways for the better......for everyone!
Ohhh...Heard you thought the "B" team was unfair and dividing the Watch?
Is THAT because we DIDN'T WANT or CHOOSE you? Truth is killing you isn't it Army guy?

SCC, good idea, poor choice in one of your forbidden topics. The shots taken at Lt. Richie ______breath are all satire: grounded 100% in truth, but satire none-the-less. There isn't a person on this Earth that has met him and doesn't think the same, even his 'friends'. Your choice in 'banning' them smack of some sort of response to a threat made by him or his camp. I'll explain...
Some time ago, you (SCC) listed an example of the kind of intelligent sarcasm and skull-duggery he wanted to see on the board by tearing Mary Mitchell a new bung-hole in an amusing way. In the same vain, there has been a series of critical posts about this favorite Lt. and his 'alleged' (yeah, right) activities at T.R.'s, his bullshit policy and his bullshit conduct. All very true, and all based in truth. The result? Tact/Gangs now directed to the West end of 008, for one thing. Second, he leaves us alone, instead of his insane ravings like a lunatic.
He reads this blog, SCC, sometimes HOURLY (I've see him in his office!) and responds in kind. It keeps him in check.

Isn't this the kind of thing you made this blog for?

Shut up you dork Ald Banks hasnt done one thing for this ward. You dont remember him trying to allow Habitat for humanity to build a project building near Hiawatha Park until people marched to his office? Call him and ask him why police are pulled out of 016 which sommetimes leaves us with no beat cars? ? I did and his lackey theres nothing Ald can do. Screw him, anyone in 36th ward vote for Sposato, hes a city worker and good guy! Things will change if he gets elected. And are you saying its ok for Ald to rezone and make money on side cause hes helping nephew build 300$ condos? Fed should nab him for this, I hope hes next to go. I put him with Troutman. Ask him where our new library is or our new street lights and planters are. I see westside wards get more than 36th. MO' FILLMO' MEMORIES:

The West Side riots sure opened the nose of Goldblatts on the southeast corner of Madison and Pulaski. Before the shit hit the fan and unlike Sears-Roebuck on Arthington St., they wouldn't even give 011 guys the time of day, let alone free or discounted flashlight batteries.

You wonder how did Goldblatts escape all the flames and looting?

They couldn't give out enough free coffee, sandwiches, food, etc. to all the men of Fillmo'...a veritable oasis in the midst of Hades.

The clever bastards went unscathed.

This is not the appropriate forum for most of the other actual events of that fateful era.

Suffice to say, all of us had each others back. We worked very hard and we played harder. Those days in 011 were the worst of times and the best of times.

Try listening to what happened. Evaluate it. Since you have no similar experience, use it as a virtual tool to prepare for similar incidents. Better than big hat, no brain.

How come the FOP doesn't correct the travesty of everyone getting shift differential pay? The guys working midnights should get the most differential pay and third watch should get some also. Guys working days shouldn't get anything.

Dear Mr. Northside,

I'm someone who does not need a Daley to give me a shoot to kill order. A Daley! This is like having the French tell you that you need to fight terrorists.

Thats who I am. I'm sure you were the best of the best of the best of your generation. The problem Mr. Old Guy is that your generation was the worst of the worst of the worst.

So you are the best of the best of the best of the worst of the worst of the worst!

Oh pulllease! Are we getting into the "old timers" vs. "young bucks" now that the 008 and 009 stuff is banned? Times were different, hell they're different every day. Each District is it's own world, each watch within that District has it's own personality, some great, some suck. The Police Dept., the public, even the guys you left on the watch don't care what you did 10 years, 10 days or 10 minutes ago! It's the nature of the beast. It's right here, now, do what you're "supposed" to do, sometimes what you "have" to do, and rarer still what you "ought" to do. And when you are blessed enough to retire, sit back, have a beer, reminisce, but don't expect anyone other than YOU to care what YOU did. That's just reality. In a few years, the young guys now will be telling their stories about how the "job has changed" and the young bucks will be rolling their eyes, too.

So why not tell the truth about MLK's taste for young white women, even though he was a married man of God? The man was a documented whore monger. Who's gonna burn in hell? I may be a lot of things, but a cheater isn't among them.

Oh yeah, I forgot my cultural sensitivity...it's considered a norm in SOME communities to put your peepee in anything that moves, without regard to vows or morals.

At least MLK day is legit. He is a real person who has tried to help, but why celebrate BUD BILIKEN What's up with that?

Where is white history month? Every other race has one. Guess there has never been any white people who have contributed to society. God forbid we push whitey on someone. If you have to beg for someone's thanks and push that he be displayed then maybe that person didn't do something so special after all.

Give the MLK Day whining a break, He's long gone and his spirit and effort don't live on. A tradgedy for sure. These days just a bunch of people who eploit him for their own personal gains in the spotlight with their own agendas that have nothing to do with any of his teachings.

You don't hear everyone running around on Lincolns b-day or Washington's b-day. Wonder why that is? Cause that sir would be racist that's why!

MLK would be considered a decent role model for the black community and his teaching should be promoted.

Too bad most of his fellow peeps are more concerned about robbing and homociding each other. Along with driving Escalades and wearing Sean Jean.

It a travesty that this is the way of life so we all know how the black community feels about his teachings. They don't give a shit either! So relax on the MLK day support. IT"S JUST ANOTHER HOLIDAY NOT A COMING OF THE WORLD.

The correct racial term for black people is Negro.

1/15/2007 08:37::48 PM asked why FOP can't do something about the shift differential pay. Industry pays 15% extra for mids, 10% extra for afternoons, and 0% for days. You obviously don't remember or weren't here when that first came up. It was election time for the FOP officers and somebody realized that a large block of voters worked straight days (11th St., academy staff, ident, specual units, itc) and they wouldn't qualify for the shift differential. That's why they came up with "duty availability" (whatever that means) so everybody would get a check, and thus translate into votes. That's why they won't do anything.

1/16/2007 02:07:00 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I can not believe that a Po would be so rude as to say that some one on days should not get duty availability checks. I think we should all get the same thing across the board. That is why we never get anything when it comes around to contract talk because of self centered cry babies such as the person who placed that cry baby statement on this blog. We should all stick together not treat each group as separists. That is why the dick unit always does better on the contract then patrol because they negotiate seperately for their contract then they do for patrol. Sure it is all one union but look at past contracts they always take care of a few groups better then the whole group. That separist mentality is what keeps the department down as a whole. Oh yeah, I'm am not on days and never have been.

Every PO regardless of time on the job should have working day furlough. Only the city benefits from placing seniority on the working day furlough. That is how the city takes advantage of the PO's. They divide and conquer. Lets give old timers more then short timers, lets give dicks more then patrol, etc. The city puts each part of the department against each other, so each unit only cares about them selves. Until we stop acting like children in a school yard, the department will never take us serious and we will never get the gratuity we deserve for doing this silly job.

You say I should now lose money because some two year wonder who has no senority and has to work 1st or 3rd watch thinks I dont deserve duty availability pay.

Maybe they should take it away from those who get assigned to a watch by management, and only give it to those who earned it by bid.

Maybe they should only give it to those who have the senority and/or the ability to bid for any watch. Why should those who have no senority amd cant bid and/or have the ability to bid for any watch get anything.

Duty availability was a way of getting us a raise and at the same time avoiding having to give the fire dept. one under the "me too" clause. Certainly it was also a way of garnering enough votes to get the contract based. It has nothing to do with "shift differentials" although that was one of the considerations at the time of the contract.

Fuck yeah, Purple Shades is a crazy army motherfucker! Absolutely!!! Quick p-shades story:
Back in 2005 I think, in winter, almost the entire blk of James was going up over an incident with CFD. The gang bangers were deep and threatening the paramedics. 10-1 called units respond...sea of blue...Fighting starts... Here comes p-shades 10-99 seconds later...jumps out of his squad IN THE MIDDLE of the crowd....goes up to the loudest one. Tells the dude loudly he needs to settle down or he'll be under arrest for disorderly. Dude about 250lb attempts to shove p-shades backward. P-shades snatches dude's elbow and plants guy chin first on his squad holding him in some fucking wrist/hand lock i've neer been taught???... other hand using to handcuff him...tossing him forcefully head first into squad...meanwhile...still barking out orders like a drill sergeant to the approaching M 1's and F'1's. He's only got his wooden baton in hand...Looks my way...smiles, waves and shouts "Just like overseas brother!" Here's the thing-man, they were looking at him with his attitude AS IF he truly was psychotic...(back then he was wearing prescription purple sunglasses at night)...AND they were listening...and dispersing. One dude said "Hey Robocop you better call for more wagons for all of us." P-shades says "If you continue to advance near myself or my fellow officers, then where you end up, you'll pray you get a wagon and not a hearse! Am I clear?" In a tense situation, he's got a calming way about him....Funny shit!
But man, those guys were shitless and very compliant after that!!! No copper on scene actually scared people like that. Several arrests made that night, no coppers injured...but dude that p-shades brought in begged the WC to let a "nice" officer do his processing. Something about how p-shades just got back from Afghanistan...and every gang banger was now a potential terrorist and therefore target? Lol... MT? Sure he's different, but very likable and funny. Man, can that guy make you laugh! He's crazy alright, but thank God he's in 009.

Just my two cents Mr. B team, but I'd gladly have p-shades back me up! Give 'em hell P-shades!

The above post it the exact reason why this department will never be taken seriously during contract time. Who cares how much time you put on this job. Getting a better contract benefits you and the rest of the department. Stop being so self centered, forget all about all the time you spent on this job, it is over you can not get it back. The city has been putting were the sun don't shine for some time obviously, but stop being a hater of the younger cops. The seniority mentality is exactly what the department wants that way they can keep each group against each other and we will never be able to agree on anything because every one is only worried about their little peice of the pie that actually turns out to be nothing evertime.

Also, to the person who posted the angry statement. This will be my 4th contract since I have been on the job, so I guess I would be considered an old timer too. But, I'm not a self centered bitter person and I am tired of being hit in the keister by the city every single contract. What is good for one should be good for all. Have a nice day old timer.

Yes I'm angry when you classify something men and women have died for, as a "silly job", your words not mine. You've been through 4 contracts and you're willing to give up seniority? What in God's name does being a senior officer have to do with being labeled "a hater of the younger cops". Ok, take a poll, ask how many senior officers are willing to give up their seniority or "piece of the pie"? I'd love to see the reaction of a of a P.O. with 20+ years on when a P.P.O asks him or her to give up his/her seniority so he could have all the benefits the veteran has. Now that would be funny.
Here's a question for you, when does seniority begin or end meaning when would you use it and when would you not? How would you work the bid process for watch selection? It's bad enough somone on management gets to work a plum watch assignment over someone with more seniority, but when you make it acceptable across the board, it would not only be unfair, but a real mess. It has nothing to do with being bitter, and all to do with getting what our legally negotiated contract has been fought for.
"You obviously never worked a job before you worked here. Even in the private sector there is a difference between new hires and veterans. You can't walk into a new job and expect same pay, same vacation and other benefits as veterans of the job".

I couldn't have said it better.

9:34, It would be a miracle if there were more than one of you dinosaurs who has learned how to use a computer and the internet. The point is clear for anybody with an ability to read.

They write war stories about saving a Sears or a Goldblatts for coffee and donuts, while spouting off endlessly about how dangerous it was. How dangerous was it? Well they burned down the neighborhood and a good part of the city. Thats how dangerous it was. Except it was burned down while our heroic storytellers were drinking coffee and eating donuts and looting liquor stores. Geez, thank God the world had heroes like them. Er, heroes like YOU!

Ya know something? There are millions of people whose ancestors came from the south and west sides. They are scattered to the winds.

Why are they everywhere but the south and west sides? Because the savage ran amok.

And what were our heroes doing while the savage ran amok in 011? Eating free donuts, drinking free coffee, and looting a liquor store or two.

The toll at the end of the '68 riots was what, 30 or 40? And that only after the National Guard came in to save our heroes from hardened arteries?

Is this any more clear now? Could it be more clear? These aren't war stories that anybody should EVER tell their children. Their story is one of defeat and failure and disaster.

The only thing that could possibly help these stories would be if they included how the storyteller dropped bodies until he was out of ammunition. But noooo, nothing like that. These guys are more likely to tell you how many marshmellows they roasted while the city burned.

That is your legacy. That is your history.

Not true !!! In the private sector they dont count your days off toward your vacation time. For example, if you have a one week vacation they count it staring monday through friday. Everyone should have a working day furlo. The dept stels from us when it comes to that .

First of all I never said give up seniority rights for bidding to a watch. What I was initially responding to was the PO who said that people on days should not get a duty availability check because they do not work 1st or 3rd watch.

What I was saying is that I believe every single PO should receive a duty availability check regardless of what watch we work.

I was referring to giving every single po a working day furlough. What does that have to do with giving up your seniority ?

This is a silly job. Never said anything about the people who gave their life for the job. I believe you take your self to serious. The way the city hands out merit promotions and shits on patrol every contract is what I was referring to as this silly job.

Also, I worked in the private sector for 11 years before I came on this job, not sure about what pay every one else made, but every one got the same vacation regardless of time on the job.

The only reason the city uses seniority is because it is easier to pay a few then it is to pay everybody. So, to recap all I was refering to was everyone should have a working day furlough. Sorry I picked on your god almighty senority.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Does it really matter about duty availability difference for each watch. Your missing the big picture. Any way you look at it, when the city gives us something they take it away some where else. So, why don't we all try to stick together and get 15 to 20 extra furlough days rather then worry about a few percentage points toward a raise that the city will get back by raising taxes and fees, etc. If we get more days off they can not tax that. If every po had working day furlough instead of the bs that short timers have now the burn out probably would not occur as often. More time off will keep us much happier then placing us in a higher tax bracket. Plus, before people get silly and start complaining about the seniority being taken away. I do not see why giving every po a working day furlough would be taking anything away from some one who already has a working day furlough. It is just ridiculous when some one with time on says "screw the new guy, I had to do it when I came on." That is the one way mentality the city wants us to have when it comes to negotiating a new contract. It is cheaper to take care of a few rather then take care of every one. Lets just all stick together once and get a decent contract that will give us more time with our families then dealing with the silly bs that we have to deal with in the street while working. Also, I do have working day furloughs so I am not a new guy.

The euphemism "duty availability" pay is nothing more than a pretext to avoid a policy in effect in most major police departments: SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL.

Based on seniority, veteran officers need only bid for first and third watch assignments.

Why should empty-holstered, house mice working steady days with weekends off share in the supplemental pay?

Taking it further, why should an officer working a "slow" district, regardless of seniority (or lack thereof), earn the same as officers working the mean streets of districts like 007 and 011?

Use your seniority. Bid into field assignments in "fast" districts during the hours of darkness.

Common sense cries out for supplementary income for SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL!

So you are overwhelmed by sheer numbers while risking your life as a police officer on shifts extending beyond 12 hours during the most tumultous era of violence in our city's history.

Damnit! Charlie Trotter does not have a restaurant within the confines of the 11th District. Indeed, there were no restaurants conducting business during the riots.

Amidst all the chaos, you want a sandwich or two on the fly. Between 10-1's, you grab a sandwich at Goldblatts, only a minute away from "ground zero".

For shame, officer! "Brown bag" it next tour.

By the way, what's your body count, officer?

Shall we stand down or evacuate and call in the military to carpet bomb this God forsaken hellhole?

Tough luck for all the decent, law-abiding and terrified Garfield Parkers hiding beneath their beds.

No problem. We'll just attribute the deaths of thousands of innocent people as "collateral damage."

Kindly advise, 8:57 AM.

Late 60's. 011 on the midnights. Another homicide. Rigormortis had already set in on the black male lying on the 2nd floor apartment.
Detective Lee, a very methodical homicide detective, had a quirk about touching stiffs without gloves. It was his job and he was on the scene with a number of other police. As it would happen one of the hangers on brought it to Detective Lee's attention that there was a piece of paper stuck in the fist of the deceased. Lee turned and asked those in attendance if they would remove the paper. To a man all refused as it was Detective Lee's case. As a result, Lee was force to pry the fingers of the stiff open and extract the note. This took quite some time as clenched fists on a dead one are rather difficult to deal with. I forgot to mention that Lee was a very big man and huffed and puffed while bending the fingers back. He finally extracted the note and with great effort, uncrumpled and without realizing it started to read it allowed. "Mr. Lee would you please catch my killer".

Great story about "Andy", a fine fellow.

Then there was the time when another Area 4 dick phoned "Andy" in the area.

From a mere thirty feet away, the white detective, posing as a anonymous informant and using his best signature ghetto ebonics, told Lee that critical evidence (victim's ID, etc.) from the then unsolved "Interstate 57" homicides was buried in the mud in the basement of an abandoned building on Grenshaw St.

Within minutes, after dragging the legendary Booker T. Porter along, "Andy" was interrupted on Grenshaw, digging with his shovel with Booker T. holding the kel-lamp.

Fortunately, the jokester showed up before the big fella could break a sweat.

We laughed our asses off.

Later, the notorious Henry Brisbon was arrested and convicted of the I-57 murders and remains imprisoned after escaping his death sentence.

Lee had a big heart and a great sense of humor.

All I have is seniority to get the little I can on this department. Do your time and earn your perks you wet behind the ears weezle! Wahh Wahhhh! Every spot on this department should be by bid, or test, so I can go where I want and get the opportunities that people with connections get. NO I don't want an inside job, those should be reserved for people who can't work the street. Officers that have been injured, light duty, or 15 years plus.

A Note about P-Shades and everyone else in 009..........
I used to work in the 009th District. I did my job and trained many of these "B-team" tact wannabes, and I hope they don’t want to go to S.O.S. either.
First things first, if you haven’t noticed it yet, the 3rd watch WC does not care about anyone, he just wants to make himself look better so he can become an ADS, the guy just made Capt. However, he does not have to impress anyone as long as Daley is in office, you know what I mean.
Second, if you get into shit because you want to have two stars next your name, do an internet search on the recent SOS arrests. I'm sure the bosses said, go out there and do what you have to do, we will cover you. Do you see those bosses giving those guys anything HELL NO, But we know how bosses act.
Third, I worked with P-shades in 009. I NEVER had a problem with him. I was actually glad every time he showed up to assist. He doesn’t cause problems, He doesn’t get CR numbers for you, he will be the first to get in a boxing match
Four, RR & LS you two secret lovers are a JOKE. As well as some of the other hacks on the B-Team.
Fifth, The Tact team in 009, All politics + you have to talk about high school sports during your whole tour, im just not into talking about young boys playing ball. Their focus should be on Tank JOHNSON, pull him over....you might get a gun.
Sixth, Capt MATULA was a good and fair boss.
Seventh, Edgar MULLINS is a TMA, so watch out.

Im going back to watch TV in my nice warm cozy home on the NW side where there is no TRU, SOS, B-Team, K-9, CTA, or any other specialized units, But it would be nice to see some more 016th Dist cars around here more often, especially 1614.

I'm not scared so I'll post about what should we get based on senority. In the private sector, if I start brand new I have to work a certain period to get qualified for medical benefits. As I remember the day I joined I filled out papers to get my medical. As far as vacation time, private sector newbies get maybe 5 vacation days a year after their first year on average. After toiling a few more years they might move up to 10 vacation days a year. The day you finish your first year on this job you get 20 straight days off, yes you might give back some to the city but do the math: Private sector 5 days police 20 (- lets say 7 to the city = 13) advantage police on both accounts.

So the big thing to worry about is benefits and KEEPING what we have set up. This department was based on a military system, and the city continually tries to privatize everything. You want a bad job? Let them privatize our department where all supervisors are just that, and you get no breaks, higher insurance payments and less time off.

Contract is coming up, focus on some cost of living wage increase, but most importantly focus on giving NONE of the rights we already have, yes this means our senority, fight for and extra holiday I don't care if it is Bud Bilikin day, just getting an extra holiday is a pay raise in itself with more comp time in the books. Fight for another BFD a year, another pay raise and more time off.

Rest assured if MT is out there, then the shitheads are at bay.
I worked with him quite awhile on Mids in 009 and he takes the job very seriously. He constantly wanted to make the streets in 009 safe. Gang bangers in any sector hated seeing him drive up...especially the 30 sector. They wouldn't act up around him either! They too believed he was crazy. It was his way or the highway! I don't know if he's calmed down or not, but knowing him I'd say no way.

purple shades is one of the hardest working officers that 009 has to offer. he is very kind hearted and everyday risks his life to support his fellow officers and to ensure that they go home every night safely. who on this job has the right to putdown a working officer for what he does? if he was a dog or backed away from in progress jobs then i would say you have a valid beef. he attempts to be frieds with everyone in the district and has never said a harsh word about anyone including the annoymous fools who write about him or the signed member of the "b-team" who continually put him down.he works to fight the gang problems in the district and does a pretty good job at putting the fear of god into their heads. so, the annoymous copper claims that he cant be trusted because he doesnt drink.....well, i think its safe to say he has more important priorities at the homefront (like his family) that require his time more than the bartender. after what he went through as a war hero and after all the things you saw and you still have a solid piece of mind and your not an alcoholic like some shows the type of person that you are. im glad that you are my friend and partner in crime and dont let these annoymous haters upset you....stay who you are shades.........i got your back always!!!

I have 10 plus years on the job. Finally getting those working day furlo's. However I believe that working day furlo's should be for everyone increased as seniority increases. I think we all could use more time-off. Let's ask for 15 and maybe get 5-10. After any pay increase it's only a few dollars anyway. MAybe 3 furlo's per year instead of 2. Save a lot of coppers from getting so burned out so quickly. Use those extra days off to work special or other side job if you choose. It makes sense and the only thing the city could say is manpower shortage would prevent from giving more time off. That's on the city to explain why there are not enough police on the street. Take some of those fat coppers from 35th street to supplement in the districts.
