Again. And still up to his old tricks:
- A man who once knocked out a woman’s teeth in the South Loop when she refused to give him a cigarette was arrested again this week when he threatened to kill a man while panhandling in the Uptown neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
Derrick King, 50, was cited by critics of the state’s early prison release program when he threatened a woman in 2009, a day after getting out of prison for the brutal attack against Jennifer Hall on her birthday in August 2008.
King was sent back to jail after the second incident and was released late last year. He has been arrested on misdemeanor charges three times since then.
This piece of garbage is a poster child for "Three Strikes," Concealed Carry and a ready-made poster child for a law-and-order type campaign to beat Quinn and any other soft on crime liberal asshole who believes in rehabilitation for someone like Derrick King is worth the time, effort or cost.

This reader worked many years in 007 and can see that police investigations in 007 were hampered by aldermen and commanders. Commander Ford once tried to get Baskin's arrest for Agg Batt to P.O. dropped to a disorderly conduct. Did the commander support the police officer? NO. The police commander supported the thug.
This article shows why this job is so difficult. One the one hand you want to help people and be true to the oath of office you swore to, but on the other hand you have to protect yourself from being stabbed in the back by the very posers who say they have your back.
This situation can be attributed to voter apathy, who allow these thugs to be elected into office.
Even if he were to kill someone's loved one, at his age of 50, he would only get 13 years or so due to the fact he's old. Cut that in half for some new "if your over fifty you get out early" program, and with some good behavior and time already served, he'll be out to beat, rape, or kill someone else's loved one by the time he's 55!
The trick to keeping this dirt bag in jail is...HE HAS TO BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF SOME POLITICIANS FAMILY MEMBER to be kept in a cage. How about a judges mother...How about a "connected" contractors daughter...How about big campaign donors wife. Any of those will do. Then this POS will never see the light of day. Beating the shit out of some common working person does not count. Why the hell did we ever get rid of FIRING SQUADS!!!

Concealed carry could solve this problem by giving these folks an early release from their life if they screwed with the wrong person.
Law enforcement is so systemically screwed-up in this city (no fault of the rank-and-file cops), it is nothing less then the Wild West on Chicago streets.
This guy WILL destroy another law abiding Chicago citizens life, if he isn't put down by an armed citizen first.
He's a predator who targets the unsuspecting and those he can physically over power.
I hope the next article we read about this POS is he's shot dead by the next person he even approaches.

The fact that this guy is still breathing our air, let alone out on the street is unbelievable. I'm so enraged by this that I have burned this bastards image into my mind. If I'm out with my loved ones and we're approached by him, I'm going to defcon 1.
Sadly he'll be back on the street in time for New Years. Hopefully he'll pull his stunt on an off duty Cop and be pushing up daisys this spring. Hopefully.

I am neither rich enough nor upwardly mobile to qualify as a yuppie, but I am generally armed (although not with a firearm, yet) when I am out-n-about and I am fully prepared to engage in violent self-defense if there is no alternative.

THIS STINKS.
Anybody else woulda got sent back to their cell in MCC until a transport was ready; they would be all cuffed and chained up and marched into a van or bus to take him to a leased aircraft to enter the "Fed Air" system of transportation; it is possible to spend weeks, a month or more being shuffled around the country.
Prisoners go to what the Gulag would have called the "distributor" in Oklahoma City, a big razor-wired box on the outskirts of the airport there. When a bunk opens up in their category, back they go into Fed Air, all the way across the country again.

large time + low security points = low security facility placement.
still double barbed wire fenced, still controlled movement during 6am to 9pm, still locked into unit of residence between 9pm and 6am, still close to 200% of rated occupancy, still a limited selection of social acquantences, creature 'comforts', daily bread and such, etc., and still very much a term of imprisonment.
and a 'camp' is classified as a 'minimum' security level.
