A teacher at Adlai Stevenson Elementary has been jailed after prosecutors said he engaged in explicit sexual conversations online with a 13-year-old female student from the school.
Trevon Jackson, a 27-year-old teacher, allegedly used Google Meet and the chat function on Roblox, a gaming platform, to engage in explicit conversations with a 13-year-old girl in February, prosecutors stated during a recent detention hearing. He is also accused of telling her to delete the messages and deny any interactions if questioned.
Is that building still over on Carroll St with all the teachers under investigation who aren't allowed near a classroom, but are still getting full pay and benefits until they can run out the clock and collect a full pension? CWB can't get any answers to their actual investigation:
- What is Jackson’s status with CPS? If he was removed from a teaching position, when and why did this occur?
- When did the girl’s allegations become known to CPS? When did the IG begin its investigation? What is the status of that investigation?
- What are CPS’s procedures when allegations of sexual misconduct involving a faculty member and a student are reported?
- Did CPS contact CPD about the allegations prior to CPD reaching out to CPS? If so, who was contacted at CPD and when?
This perv will have to sit there for thirty years or more, at taxpayer expense....unless they actually convict and fire him.

Wannabe? I would venture is a bona fide. Even though he was only charged with with having the lurid conversations, he's probably done alot more
IG is useless. Just like any other organization tasked with an in house investigation. All investigations should be done by an outside agency. Disband our BIA (IAD), incompetent and protecting the department from lawsuits.
I predict CPS and public schools in general will be the next target of the deconstruction campaign police have been going through. A lot of people will be interested in their fair share of the public school pie when it starts to crumble.

The time has come for civilian oversight of CPS. Long overdue is the need for an impartial, non biased Constitutional based investigatory agency to be established. This agency should accept anonymous complaints. The investigations should lead to excessive punishments and recommendations of termination using the COPA model of impartial review. The assumption should be one is guilty of all accusations unless one can prove their 100% beyond a reasonable doubt that the "investigation" warrants a finding of exoneration.
Its time the democrat majority ruling authorities in Illinois form a coalition supporting those sexually exploited children who were not aborted before birth attending public schools. Legislators can use "Education not Molestation" as their battle hymn and have this mantra on signs when the organize protests protecting the children in front of the Board of Education headquarters. And to show their commitment to quality public education, elected democrat politicians can return campaign financing that was forwarded to influential public officials through fat cat education lobbyists in a sign of unity sending a signal they cannot be bribed, manipulated and groomed like a marionette by Big Education. Keep grooming out of the classrooms. Keep legislative grooming out of our statehouse with its public funding and taxation authority for an out of control money hungry education based bureaucracy. Do it for the children.
funny how the liberal media is just not interested in any of this with the exception of a passing article or two. It is a much more recent and bigger scandal than anything involving any church, although the Baptists do come in a very close 2nd or 3rd in this regard.
A neighbor of mine used to work with this scumbag at Stevenson. This is not his first brush with allegations of making sexually suggestive comments to grammar school students. After one of his sexually suggestive comments he was reported and DCFS conducted an investigation. During this the time the principal of this elementary school still allowed him to stay in the classroom. The media loves to talk about the “line blue line” and how cops take care of other cops, but you never hear about these stories where sexual predators are allowed to stay in a classroom with the same kids that he has been hitting on and making comments about their bodies. This whole CPS/CTU is way too comfortable covering up and enabling these types of incidents.

This type of thing has been going on for decades in Chicago. Worked in the schools on the west side. The teachers and employees behaved like it was their right to have sex with the students. The administration always covered it up. I'm guessing the totals sexual crimes committed is grossly under counted due to principals hiding the crimes.

I think cps needs 1 or 2 civilian oversight boards and a consent decree to protect our children from these sickos. They need daily training on not touching kids and ways to hold them financially accountable. They are violating the children’s civil rights!

Do you wonder why the Chicago media that frequently runs stories about CPD officers siting in time out at tax payer expense, never feature stories about teachers? Move along nothing to see here with these non classroom teachers.
In theory, it’s nice but then you’ll end up with either of 2 versions: 1. A left leaning politically biased and anti-police agency (eg COPA) or 2. A left leaning political agency stocked with people who will take orders on who to slaughter and who to save (eg unconnected cops take unfair punishment to take the heat off politically connected cops who will get a pass for criminal behavior).
There needs to be a running total of how many teachers have been arrested and charged with sex crimes. They are quick to run stories and tallies on cops but as we've seen the past five years, more teachers have been arrested than any other profession around here. An expose on the coverups and hiding of accused teachers, akin to the priest scandals of yore, is in order here. How much money has quietly been paid in civil suits to make these cases go away? I think it would be quite eye-opening.
First, a correction. Trevon Jackson is listed as a Special Education Classroom Assistant (SECA) not a teacher at Stevenson Elementary School. He's paid $46,048.00 according to the CPS Position Files (03/31/25)
So, this means Jackson most likely only has a Para-Professional license and registered with ISBE. How easy is this license to get? Think as easy as the DMV giving away driver's license if you can start a car and shift it into gear.
Why does it matter if he was a teacher or not? It's important as a majority of sexual abuse and assault cases with CPS employees involved are support staffers. Positions like SECAs, Teacher Aides (TAs), Security, Technology Coordinators, Clerks, Bus Aides, Playground Monitors, and new one, School Climate Coordinators and their team members.
Many if not all support staff positions require only a HS diploma or a GED. Think people that didn't want to be in school when they were in school or put the time in to take college courses.
CPS currently has 11,000 support staffers. CTU initially wanted CPS to hire 7,000 TAs to go along with7,000 SECAs but settled for 400 to be hired for the 2025-26 school year.

To become a Special Education Classroom Assistant (SECA) for Chicago Public Schools (CPS), individuals typically need to obtain a valid Paraprofessional License (PARA) from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) or a Short-Term Approval (STA). The SECA position is often referred to as a SECA. To obtain the PARA license, candidates generally need either an associate's degree or 60 semester hours of college credit, or they can pass the ACT WorkKeys test (score of 4 or higher) or the ETS ParaPro Assessment (score of 460 or higher). Additionally, they must meet specific knowledge, abilities, and skill requirements.
Also, because of the severe shortage of substitute teachers, college coursework requirement was lowered and one no longer needs a 4-yr degree to sub. So, many subs are now considered support staff.
Minimum requirement to be a CPS Substitute Teacher is an associate's degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited institution along with an ISBE certified substitute teacher license.
What does this all mean? Batten down the hatches and make sure there's cameras in every part of the school as sexual cases involving support staffers are going to rise (pun intended, get it? Rise).
