- If you don't think there are consequences to protests in Chicago, listen to CFD radio traffic.Fire Companies were unable to respond to downtown emergencies due to protests. CFD were forced to proceeded to calls on foot.This is an outrage.
We have trouble linking twitter accounts, but hopefully, someone's grandma wasn't have a heart attack and CFD couldn't get to her.
Lucky there wasn't a political assassination attempt either.

If a patient died waiting the city would be liable.. the protest permit does not include marching on the street blocking traffic. The permit is for a demonstration in Daley plaza. OUR brass and mayor allow them openly to take the street, march for as long as they want and impede traffic with no consequence.. hell, we walk at the front leading the way. We don’t hold people to the rules of the permit.
So what your saying is the city taxpayers get messed over because the DemocRATS wanted protesters. The city goes further into the abyss.
The Lowly Fire Dispatcher here (Hi, DM) it was an absolute sh*t show working Main - north of the Stevenson. Especially downtown. Imagine if there was a real legitimate fire and we couldn’t move our companies properly or if there were true medical emergencies near by. On top of that putting CFD personnel at risk weaving through the “mostly peaceful” paid antagonists. According to BJ it was all Trump’s fault. Enforcing our laws is terrorism now.
Lay this at the feet of Mayor Conehead and the high command of the police department. They keep letting the thugs do whatever they want. We need some federal intervention into this corrupt and compromised City government.
This is not unique to the protests. Every event downtown messes up the response times. Every parade, festival, auto race, marathon, street closure, etc, etc interferes with first responders. You can add the Saint Jude march to the list.
It would’ve been funny if one of those Karen’s worked themselves into a frenzy and drop dead of a heart attack or stroke.

It always amazed me that these protesters love to speak about their rights to do this or that , especially when they block the street. Imagine you or your family needs the police or fire department for an emergency and they never arrive because some purple haired heffer with a Covid mask on is blocking their route. They really do need to be run over as a life long lesson to anyone that wants to do this type of shit.

Yes this is unique. In every event you mentioned, event attendees would move out of the way for police, fire, and ambulance. The Progressive Socialist Democrat asshole protesters will not move out of the way! In fact, many call to “burn it down” in their protests across the country.

All the events you mentioned are planned well in advance. CFD and dispatch know which streets will be involved, when they will close and when they will re-open. Yes, it makes life more difficult but they can design alternatives to lessen the impact.
This 'go with the flow, whenever/wherever' bullshit is all spur of the moment and, sooner or later, somebody is die because of it.
The protesting douchebags in my town stayed on the sidewalk. That is simply because the last time BLM blocked the highway, three of their leaders received18 months in jail.
