[P]Father Michael Pfleger heaped praise on the Chicago Police Department during his Sunday sermon, one day after gunmen opened fire on hundreds of people gathered for a post-prom celebration near St. Sabina Church over the weekend.
“The police were amazing,” Pfleger told his parishioners. “Ain’t nobody like the 6th District.”
For decades, Pfleger has been outspoken about the city’s street violence. His parish frequently hosts gun turn-in events and peace marches. On Sunday, he spoke about the incident that occurred just outside the church grounds early on Saturday.
Sounds exactly like a remorseful jagoff who just found out he has incurable cancer and now he wants to make good after years of assholery.
Well Pfuck off Phleger. We know you, we know what you've said, we know what you've been accused of despite the inability of investigators successfully pin it on you and Cook County prosecutors unwillingness to charge you. You're to blame for so much of the mayhem, violence, and disrespect prevalent in that neighborhood. You should have been removed from that position years ago just as a matter of policy, but your ego-driven cult of personality (along with no other decent parish wanting you) and constant insertion of the Church into the political realm continues the societal damage to this day.
You're a grifting piece of trash and have a very high place on our list of "graves to piss on" once you're gone.

All that said (and very well said, I might add), people need to be reminded of just how fucking ignorant he sounds when he flips the ghetto dialect switch to ‘ON’.

The people who attend this church are not large contributors to the Sunday basket. The same goes for Hispanic congregations. They just do not put money in the basket.

If memory serves me correctly...........he isn't a "full-fledged" priest. The Catholic Church tried to remove him, but the parish brings in a lot of money (more than other black areas), so the church kept him in place. I know they tried to move in a few years ago, but that was normal rotation.

Agreed. I met him while working Fr. Andrew Greely's wake at CK Church. He seemed like a good guy. I didn't agree with a lot of his antics, but he fights for his parishioners.
Cardinal George began the process of removing Pfleger from preisthood, but he was too ill to complete it. When Cupich got here I wrote him at least two letters citing the provisions of Canon Law that Pfleger violated, mentioned that Cardinal George began the process of removal. Cupich hasn't got the balls to do what Canon Law calls for and remove Pfleger from the priesthood.

There are plenty of great priests in the Archdiocese and not ONE of them feel any different about Pfaker than SCC or the rest of us.
It is absolutely about the $$$. St. Sabina never publishes their yearly financial support. Reason why, they make so damn much money. If you recall when they pulled faker from the church on the sex allegation one of his office staff people said they would withhold their monthly archdiocese assessment of $100,000. That translates to roughly a million in income per month. Most parishes take an entire year to take that amount in. That parish gets money from many different sources on a consistent basis. That is why none of our cardinals have had the guts or financial will to get rid of that asshole. Unfortunately, since they are a private organization, you can't FOIA their books. The only way we will ever be rid of that clown is when he dies.

What's wrong with being bilingual? Ever hear a white cop speak the "dialect" in the hood? What's the difference? Knowing the dialect helps communicate in districts like 3, 6, 7, 11, 15, etc.
Using the dialect helped win some good informants, helped to de-escalate conflicts in the street without resorting to force or arrest. It's not their fault they don't speak like you.

One of my favorite memories will be when he was chased out of Mt Greenwood when he was protesting the justified killing of St Beal who pulled a gun and pointed it on 111th st. The only reason it didn't go off and kill a innocent person was because it jammed. Father Faker is a POS and one of the reasons I will never give a cent to the Catholic Church ever again. Sergeant Pagani is a widely-respected professional, who has been assigned to the FBI for over a decade and was asked to conduct an internal investigation at the Sheriff’s Office. Her findings include alleged federal and state crimes, ghost payrolling, sharing racist texts, rigging hiring for family and friends, forcing staff to work/donate to Dart’s re-election campaign, and even the top staff getting their personal dogs trained by the Sheriff’s Police Department.
This is just the latest scandal in the Sheriff’s Office, following the disastrous Electronic Monitoring program, the 30+ million-dollar lawsuits for the sexual assault of female staff at the jail, and Sheriff Dart’s failure to enforce 75% of the Orders of Protection sought by victims of domestic violence that has placed tens of thousands of women and their children in danger.
Let there be no confusion: Sheriff Dart, like former SA Kim Foxx, marches to the drum of the Cook County Board President and Democratic Chairman, Toni Preckwinkle.
To the Cook County Commissioners and Democratic leaders - especially the women - instead of signing off on millions more in lawsuits or turning a blind eye, you may want to ask why this decorated investigator/whistleblower was harassed, demoted, and mistreated.

So Sheriff Dart is now condescendingly “tracking” the policies of the new State’s Attorney? If anything should be tracked it is how 75% of orders of protection given to Sheriff Dart’s office are never served, leaving victims and their children in peril, and the 67,000 times in the first year of the Safe-T/Pretrial Fairness Act that defendants released awaiting trial missed a court date.
But in an effort to appease few criminal justice advocates that are sounding the alarm over a modest rise in the county jail’s population and are blaming Burke, Dart is now tracking whether her policies are increasing the jail’s population.
Fact check:
The Tribune leaves out the MAIN factor, which is that Dart recently shut down his office’s disastrous, electronic monitoring program. The 35-year program, which had thousands of participants, was shut down because Dart admitted he could not safety monitor those charged with murder, shootings, and rape. Is it that shocking that some have been ordered to jail?
CPD Supt. Snelling has restored quality leadership resulting in an increase in arrests rates, which had plummeted under Supt Brown. This February had 929 more arrests than February of 2023.
Burke’s much more effective about prosecuting dangerous felons than Foxx. As CWB reported, under Foxx almost 20% of those arrested for murder or attempted murder (408) were out on pretrial when they committed these violent crimes.
Under Burke, those arrested for domestic battery are ending up in jail? Good! The number of women and their children murdered from domestic violence had skyrocketed with murders doubling last year.
If you want to “track” Burke’s impact, look to the decrease in violent crimes
