Killer Off the Hook? Crimesha Again

We're pretty sure Crimesha and Toni have lost control of the narrative they want to spin:
  • The family of 16-year-old Derrion Albert wants to know why one of the men convicted in his murder is now free. The 16-year-old Fenger High School honors student was on the way home from school when he was caught in the middle of a gang fight and killed in 2009.

The I-Team has been looking into the Cook County State's Attorney decisions in the wake of the Jussie Smollett case and uncovered that the Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx decided not to pursue a stiff prison sentence for one of the attackers shortly after she took office.

Cook County prosecutors charged four teens involved in the gang melee that led to Albert's death as adults. Three were convicted of murder at trial. One pleaded guilty. All are serving prison sentences.
And the one who was convicted as a juvenile under the so-called "Extended Jurisdiction Juvenile" prosecution rules has continued to commit felonies with impunity and no returning to prison to serve his 30-year sentence.

The family is (rightfully) demanding answers. Crimesha refuses to meet with them under any circumstances.

Voters ought to be demanding answers, too.

CWB Again

The only outlet covering the wilding assholes attack a security guard at McDonald's on the Mag Mile:
  • Chicago police this afternoon offered new information about the incident: The security guard, a suburban policeman, was on-duty for the McDonald's restaurant Saturday afternoon. He was leading the two men out of the restaurant when one of them struck the guard on the head with a glass bottle, police said. A struggle ensued and was captured on video.

A CPD spokesperson on Monday said the department did not have a report about the incident on file. Today, however, Chicago police said officers were called to the scene, but the two offenders were gone by the time cops arrived. The security guard was treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The video shows the attack quite clearly and you should go over to the CWB blog to see it. The "media" won't be showing it any time soon because it doesn't further the "narrative" that we all know to be so much bullshit. Suffice it to say the security guard shows far more restraint than many other persons would have.

Officers Honored

That guy who fell through the ice on Lake Michigan attempting to rescue his dog finally got to thank his rescuers:
  • It took courage, a dog leash and a human chain of six Chicago police officers to rescue the man from the perils of Lake Michigan as the polar vortex bore down on Chicago.

For their heroism, captured on police body camera footage, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation held a ceremony Tuesday morning to honor the six officers, including a sergeant, whose swift and coordinated response saved the man’s life.
There's body camera footage at the link and the story itself is something else, officers working as a team to form a human chain to drag the victim from the water. A great job all around.

Get Rid of "Gold Braid"

  • The Illinois Supreme Court once again has illuminated for Illinois taxpayers the need to amend the rigid pension clause of the state constitution. The justices on Thursday upheld as constitutional a teacher pension for a retired lobbyist who substitute taught for one day.

Sub for a day. Pension for life. It’s outrageous. The Supreme Court continues to interpret the pension clause to the extreme.

The ruling upheld a controversial state law that allowed a lobbyist for the Illinois Federation of Teachers, David Piccioli, to become certified as a substitute teacher in December 2006 by working one day at a Springfield elementary school — and to buy pension credit for his 10 previous years working as a lobbyist. That sweet deal qualified him for a pension windfall from a teachers retirement fund that as of late 2018 carried an unfunded liability of more than $75 billion-with-a-B. Because he also draws a pension from a previous job as a House Democratic aide, Piccioli’s total pension income now rises to nearly $100,000. His pensionable income from the Teachers’ Retirement System is based off his salary from the IFT— another questionable pension loophole, which the Supreme Court upheld last year.
There has been a suggestion presented in our comment section numerous times and it might be about time for the FOP and PBPA to turn it into an actual proposal:
  • Eliminate the "gold braid" provison;
  • Any pensioner tops out at their earned civil service rank.
  • Merit babies must revert to their EARNED spot.
There's no reason to have 50 or 70 or more Captains earning a higher pension at a spot they were gifted by politicians. Twenty years ago we had 6 Deputy Chiefs, and now we have 18, all due to earn inflated pensions that have nothing to do with their ability and everything to do with who they know/blow/spawned from/contribute to.

Special Ed would revert to what? Sergeant pension? Three-and-four-time merit morons would revert to Patrolman salaries, and rightfully so.

"Earned, not Given" is a punchline, not an entitlement to a system that is already overloaded and thisclose to going bankrupt.

If they open the Constitution, everyone is going to take a haircut. Better to sacrifice the political animals to save the rest.

ASA's Turning on Foxxx

And again, the only place publishing it - Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown blog:
  • On Saturday, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx appeared at Rainbow PUSH headquarters where she found some friendly faces after being derided for nearly two weeks over her office’s handling of the Jussie Smollett hoax hate crime case.

Yesterday, an assistant state’s attorney in Foxx’s office sent the following essay to CWBChicago to express a view from inside the prosecutor's office. We are publishing the piece in its entirety with permission. The author asked to remain anonymous because they are not permitted to speak publicly about department business.
The letter runs twenty paragraphs but reads quick. In it, the author pretty much destroys Crimesha's mismanagement of the Smellit case....and her entire office. As one commentator said, we don't know if the author has a big ol' set of brass ones or is bucking for a whistle blower lawsuit. Either way, it's one of the better take-downs we've read.

Twenty One Arrests

  • Here we go again!

Chicago police on Monday said 21 people were arrested Saturday around the River North and Magnificent Mile neighborhoods in the first “mob” activity of 2019. The high arrest count is the result of a new, less-tolerant approach by police assigned to handle "large group" incidents in the downtown area.

Police said several groups, comprised mostly of juveniles, were given “direct orders” to disperse from the downtown area on Saturday after causing disturbances by disrupting traffic and fighting, a CPD spokesperson said.

Individuals who failed to disperse were taken into custody, according to the department. A CPD source said one arrestee was only 11-years-old and a 15-year-old girl was arrested for trying to punch a police officer.
CWB is the only place doing any reporting that we can find. Head over there and read the entire article.

Seriously Crimesha? Personal?

  • Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx joined Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., on Saturday at Rainbow Push Headquarters to address calls for her to resign following her office's decision to drop charges against "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett. "I'm committed to serving my term and should the people have me continuing forward," Foxx said.

Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx joins to join Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., at a news conference following calls for Foxx's resignation Saturday. On Thursday, the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police and dozens of Cook County police chiefs banded together to announce a "no confidence" vote in Foxx.

They gathered at the FOP headquarters over what they claim is Foxx's mishandling of certain felony case including Foxx's office controversial decision to drop charges against Jussie Smollet over his alleged staged attack.

However, Foxx said she is asking herself "what is this really about". Foxx, who grew up in Cabrini Green and is the first African American woman to serve as Cook County State's Attorney, said she is asking herself "what is this really about." "We get into these positions somehow goal posts change," Foxx said.
Way to butcher a metaphor there. Nothing has changed Crimesha - just the incompetence of the person nominally in charge.

You know what's "personal"? Releasing violent felons on minimal bail. Letting shoplifters and carjackers go unless they have multiple convictions or cross some imaginary monetary threshold you made up regardless of existing law. Refusing battery charges - or dropping them for attacking police, sheriffs and corrections officers.

Or standing silently while one of the most overt racists in existence claims a labor organization (which represents thousands of black police officers) is an enemy of their own race and another - with zero sense of historical irony - compares them to the most disreputable organization of southern democrats.

Irrelevant at Last?

  • SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — R. Kelly gave a 28-second performance and spent about half an hour more hobnobbing with fans who paid $50 to $100 to see him at a club in the Illinois capital of Springfield.

The R&B singer posted a video on his Instagram page hours before the early Sunday performance at the Dirty South Lounge. In the video, Kelly calls on the media to take it easy on him, saying he needs to perform in order to make money amid the sexual abuse case he faces.

TV stations WICS and WRSP report that about 100 people were at the 450-person-capacity club to see Kelly, who arrived at 1:30 a.m. There was a $100 entrance fee, which was lowered to $50 once Kelly arrived.

Kelly thanked supporters, sang a line from one of his songs for 28 seconds and spent about 35 minutes taking selfies and conversing with fans.
If the community isn't supporting this goof, perhaps Crimesha won't be cutting him loose?

Follow Up to FOP Shooting

Lost near the end of the article about Saturday's shooting of a baby shower in Englewood was this:
  • Police got to the scene quickly, and officers took over CPR on the boy, who finally started breathing again, Nix said.

“Two of the officers saved his life,” Nix said. “We were just trying to hold the pressure down, but the officers came up and started doing CPR, and I honestly believe they saved his life.”
Booby Rush was unavailable for comment for some reason. Neither was Jamal. Not even Crimesha Foxxx, who silently stood by while Booby made his execrable statement could be bothered to comment.

You'd think that one of these assholes might apologize and retract their bullshit statements.

Nice Weekend Rahm

  • In a period of a little over 24 hours this weekend, 24 people were shot in Chicago, including three children under 13 — and three of the adults shot died from their injuries, according to police.

Beginning at 4 a.m. Saturday through about 10 a.m. Sunday, Chicago police were investigating shooting cases that included the homicides and a mass shooting of six people outside an afternoon baby shower in West Englewood in which an 8-year-old boy was shot in the chest and back and a 10-year-old girl was struck in the shin.
Someone said it topped out at 30 shot in 24 hours after all the smoke had cleared. We'll await HeyJackass.com for the official totals.

New Gang Tactic

Frankly, with the advent of "breakaway" poles, we're surprised this hasn't happened earlier....and more often:

Supposedly, gangs in the area of 45th and Hermitage used a stolen car to take down a light pole that happened to have a Pod Camera and Shotspotter and Plate Reader technology on aboard. They know any break in coverage gives them an opportunity to make some money or shoot someone and who knows how much it costs to tie up a city crew to replace the pole and then reset/repair or replace all the tech stuff, which can't be cheap because (A) it's electronics and (B) some connected contract has to be fulfilled via some aldercreature's nephew.

Ideas?

A couple of unconfirmed reports of a retiree suicide.

We have no idea what is available to retirees, but we're almost certain it isn't close to adequate. Does anyone know if the FOP - which currently has thousands of retired members - would be able to offer some sort of group plan for retirees to receive some sort of mental health evaluation? We can't believe there isn't a single insurance provider who wouldn't welcome literally thousands of retired cops and family who are in need of just someone to talk to.

We shouldn't be abandoning our brothers and sisters just because they retired.

FOP Shoots 8 in Englewood

Good thing we have Booby Rush and Jamal to tell everyone who the enemy of black people is:
  • Eight people were wounded, two of them children, in a drive-by shooting Saturday evening that targeted a family gathering in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Gunfire erupted at 6:21 p.m. at a barbecue in the 6300 block of South Seeley, according to preliminary information from Chicago police. The shots were fired from a red Chevrolet Equinox.

Witnesses at the scene were not cooperating with investigators, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.
Somebody must have cooperated. How else would Booby and Jamal get all their info?

Crimesha's Support is Invisible

So the FOP and numerous suburban police chiefs held a press conference last week, expressing "No Confidence" in Crimesha actually prosecuting criminals. Numerous people in the media and professional agitator business immediately called it racist because there weren't any black police chiefs around - which disregards the fact that the people suffering most when criminals don't serve time is ::surprise!:: other minorities.

Even Special Ed made this observation:
  • “One thing, I’m going to call balls and strikes. If you look at what’s going on right now, it’s easy to extract that it’s a racial divide right there because you see cops out there — like the press conference you didn’t see any suburban black chiefs standing up there — so it’s easy to draw from that, that it’s a racial divide regarding this,” Johnson said. “But you know what? We have to stop all that and focus on what’s right and what’s wrong.”
So Crimesha leaned on her contacts and had the increasingly irrelevant Jesse Jackson hold a press conference at Operation PUSH where all sorts of black chiefs of police were to be present and show their support for Crimesha.

Except, guess who didn't show up?
  • It was a counter-point to the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police press conference on Thursday in which dozens of suburban police chiefs expressed “no confidence” in Foxx’s management of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office with the Jussie Smollett case being one point of concern.

There was a problem this morning though. Despite promises made to the media, no police chiefs showed up to support Foxx. Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. organized the event but offered no explanation for the African American police chiefs' absences.
So an event, that was touted as support for Crimesha had exactly ZERO of her supposed supporters attend.

THAT is fucking hilarious.

Of course excuses were made, and Crimesha's people claimed there was a "private meeting" two hours before hand and you'll just have to believe that all the chiefs expressed unwavering support for someone who is making their jobs next-to-impossible by not charging and imprisoning criminals.

Race Baiters Gotta Bait

Booby Rush is slowly slurring and stuttering his way to the grave the same way he lived - pretty much as a waste of oxygen:
  • “The FOP is the sworn enemy of black people, the sworn enemy of black people,” said Rush, who drew criticism in the city’s mayoral election when he suggested supporters of Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot would have the blood of African-American youth killed by the police on their hands.

“The FOP has always taken the position that black people can be shot down in the street by members of the Chicago Police Department, and suffer no consequences,” Rush said, as an aide approached Foxx and the state’s attorney stepped out of television cameras’ view. “Let’s be clear: Kim Foxx, her battle, is with the FOP and all of their cohorts.”
No word from Special Ed and NOBLE about these accusations. Does anyone know any black cops that might have an opinion on this? Rush has pretty much written you off.

And guess who is picking up the tired old mantle?
  • Foxx’s comments, preceded by activist Jamal Green’s declaration of police to be the “Blue Klux Klan,” were brief. Foxx did not object to the Klan reference, and she repeatedly ignored inquiries from reporter Matt Finn about her support for the comment.
Quite the turn of a phrase there Jamal. Now explain this (2018 states from HeyJackass.com):

Four-hundred-sixty-five dead black people.

Guess how many were killed by the police?
  • Six
Which works out to 1.0186%. Completely Klan-like numbers.

We think the lady (Jamal) doth protest too much,

Burke Making Waves?

For a guy facing federal charges, he's acting an awful lot like Harold is still around:
  • Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot on Friday accused Ald. Edward Burke (14th) of attempting to organize the City Council against her and threatened to expose aldermen who dare to conspire with him.

“Any alderman who’s gonna try to align themselves with Ed Burke at this time — we’re gonna make sure that gets very public and exposed . . . I’m going to do everything I can to shine a light on that,” Lightfoot told the Sun-Times.

“They’re gonna have to explain to the public why they’re aligning with him against the voters of this city.”

Burke could not be reached for comment.

Massive Wilding Downtown

Stay away.

Don't expect the media to say a word about it.

If you have a scanner, it's all over the place.

Patrol and the Bike Unit is pretty much overwhelmed.

Expect zero arrests.

UPDATE: Ten arrests? Surprising.

UPDATE: Ten-year-olds arrested. That makes sense.

UPDATE: Over ten arrests?

UPDATE: Rumor - All arrestees made bail before midnight.

Not surprising at all.
