Amazing

Shootout. Downtown. Broad daylight. And guess what else?
  • Two men were ordered held on $200,000 bail Wednesday in connection to a midday Loop shootout that broke out when one of the men, who was holding a baby, was shot at as he stood outside the Congress Hotel.
But don't worry! Dad knew just what to do!
  • Davarius Minor handed off the infant to someone else before pulling out a pistol with an extended magazine Tuesday, firing nine shots in self-defense at his attacker at Michigan Avenue and Harrison Street, Cook County prosecutors said.

No one was shot in the exchange that was witnessed by Chicago police officers patrolling nearby, Assistant State’s Attorney James Murphy said.

After the shots were fired, Minor and two others got into a vehicle, driven by Daquan Dunn, leading officers on a high-speed chase through the South Loop, Murphy said.

What the article doesn't mention is that the future Father-of-the Year candidate properly strapped his child into a car seat before speeding through downtown at over 80 MPH.

Kidding!

Good thing the streets are so deserted after Groot and Fatass have killed the state and city economies.

Laughable "Offer"

  • Chicago Police officers have waited more than three years for a new contract and the retroactive pay raise that comes with it.

The first substantive offer they got from Mayor Lori Lightfoot was hardly worth the wait, according to their fiery union president.

Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara said he stormed away from Tuesday’s long-awaited negotiating session after the mayor’s team offered his members the same 10% pay raise over four years already awarded to Chicago firefighters in exchange for higher health care contributions — but tacked on 17 pages, including 40 disciplinary reforms.
Groot's mouthpiece - scumbag lawyer Mike Frisch - wants a complete surrender by the FOP to every contractual protection negotiated over the decades, because at this point, the "leadership" of the city (democrats one and all) needs to destroy the Department on the altar of political correctness to preserve their corrupt rule.

Go read it all.

Why is the City Broke?

  • City officials Tuesday defended a decision to sell a former firehouse in Jefferson Park effectively for $10 and turning down an offer of $300,000 from the nearby Copernicus Foundation.

The Copernicus offer never offered evidence of financing, a clear plan and a timetable for its project, said a city spokesman.

In July, the city’s Community Development Commission agreed to sell the building at 4839 N. Lipps Ave. to an affiliate of Ambrosia Homes Development. Its proposal calls for adding one floor to the two-story brick building — vacant for about 10 years — and to convert the ground floor into a pub and restaurant for Lake Effect Brewing. The rest of the building would be turned into nine apartments.

Ambrosia, led by Tim Pomaville, agreed to pay environmental remediation costs at the property, estimated to be worth almost its appraised price of $208,000. Hence, the stated price of the sale was $10, according to a report to the CDC. Copernicus responded when the city advertised for competing bids.
Financing? It was $300,000 in cash, plus a commitment to being the building into environmental compliance, estimated by the competing bid at $208,000.

The other guy (politically connected?) offers $10 and because the compliance cost is equal to the cost of the building itself, a net zero dollars.

Cost to the taxpayers - about half-a-million?

Meanwhile, Groot's budget hole gets bigger and bigger.

Giant Fucking Pussies

  • The current and former chairmen of the City Council’s Committee on Public Safety were accused Wednesday of backing out of a “Support the Police” rally under pressure from Mayor Lori Lightfoot and from constituents who support defunding the Chicago Police Department.

Ald. Chris Taliaferro (29th), a former Chicago police officer now chairing the committee, and Taliaferro’s predecessor, Ald. Ariel Reboyras (30th), do not plan to attend the “Back the Blue” rally outside the Jefferson Park police district, 5151 N. Milwaukee Ave.

The rally is co-sponsored by three Northwest Side aldermen: Nick Sposato (38th), Anthony Napolitano (41st) and Jim Gardiner (45th), but Taliaferro said the ‘Back the Blue’ rally was turning into a political show.
A political show? It's ALWAYS a political show Chris. This is Chicago and it's always political.

What do you call it when a cop steals a cell phone on a side job ON VIDEO and is forced to return it by another cop, then the thief goes on to make sergeant, work in IAD and somehow get elected to alderasshole? Oh yeah - Politics.

In any event, Reboyas and Taliaferro are probably the two biggest pussies in the City Council at the moment. Chris also claims the rally dared to point out hat Crimesha is a complete failure at her job and that simply isn't true. He might not have gotten the annual stats from the portion of Austin that he represents, but the body count has been climbing steadily all year.

Gee, Who Knew???

  • Just weeks into September, homicides in Cook County have already passed the total for all of last year, with nearly all the victims people of color, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The office — which investigates all accidental, suspicious and indigent deaths in the country’s second-most populous county — said Tuesday it has recorded 677 homicides this year, passing 2019′s total of 675.

Cook County had 487 homicides by this time last year, the office noted.
And surprise surprise:
  • Chicago — which has struggled to contain street violence — makes up most of the county total, with 565 homicides within the city limits through Tuesday morning, according to the office. The totals include homicides committed on expressways within the city, as well as reclassified cases that were initially inconclusive.
And the Medical Examiner makes the Channel 7 iTeam their bitch:
  • The medical examiner’s office noted that minorities make up 95% of all the 2020 homicide deaths, with about 79% African American and 16% Latino.
Proportionally, this is all wrong because - as Channel 7 is always pointing out - the city is almost evenly divided among black, brown and white and therefore, crime stats should be evenly divided among the racial rainbow....like traffic stops.

Of course, Channel 7 is staffed by morons.

Nightmare?

  • Illinois Governor JB Pritzker gave a dire warning about the potential for layoffs and drastic cuts at the state and local level if the federal government doesn’t offer more assistance Tuesday. "This is a nightmare scenario,” Pritzker said Tuesday while announcing $220 million in grants for small businesses.
Wait....Illinois is broke? And he's giving out $220 million?

What the actual fuck?
  • “If we don’t receive support from the federal government for our cities and our counties – you’ve already seen challenges, I think, in our police departments and fire departments across the state, cities and counties,” Pritzker said. “If they don’t receive federal support, they won’t be able to maintain their workforce.”

Governor Pritzker’s current $42.9 billion spending plan signed into law in June relies heavily on federal assistance, and it authorizes borrowing up to $5 billion from a federal COVID-19 relief fund. Pritzker said if the support doesn’t come through by the end of the month, the state will have to do something.
Fatass should have been doing something over the last year, like cutting spending, eliminating waste, fixing government, instead of destroying the economy at the behest of the national democrats.

Arbitration Coming

There was some sort of an "offer" from the City regarding the Contract yesterday. We don't have the specifics yet, but it's as horrible as you can imagine and pretty much a slap in the face to a Department that has been worked to exhaustion this year, and shit on for three.

Rumor is 10% for four years (meaning it's almost expired) and back-loaded to minimize retro pay. Also, the gutting of disciplinary protections across the board.

The FOP is correctly outraged and disappointed. Expect more info shortly.

Foiled Car Jacking (and More)

  • An off-duty Chicago police officer exchange gunfire with an armed person Tuesday in West Town.

The officer was stopped in his vehicle at a stop sign about 9:40 p.m. when he saw a male get out of a silver sedan with a handgun in the 700 block of North Noble Street, Chicago police said. The officer announced himself, “at which time an exchange of gunfire occurred,” according to police.

No injuries were reported, though the officer’s vehicle was damaged, police said. The male with the handgun got back in the sedan and fled.
  • A man is in custody after a Chicago police officer was hit by a car Tuesday in Belmont Cragin on the Northwest Side.

The on-duty officer was standing behind a barricade about 9:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of North Central Avenue when they were struck by a Kia sedan, Chicago police said. The officer was hospitalized in fair condition with leg injuries.
Drunk? Speedy recovery wished to the Officer.

New "Normal"

So this morning, our e-mail lit up with rumors of a full cancellation of days off for Wednesday. As far as we can tell, this turned out to be false, but guess what the trigger was?
  • a Lancaster (PA) Police Officer killing an Hispanic subject who charged him with a knife.
Bear in mind that this had zero to do with #blm mopes, Lancaster PD released the video literally within hours - and there's a knife clear as fucking day - raised to stab, and this subject was charged with stabbing FOUR people just last year.

Better have a riot!
  • The overnight violence came on the heels of the death of Ricardo Munoz, the mentally ill 27-year-old who was seen on bodycam footage charging with a knife in hand at a cop. The officer shot and killed Munoz Sunday afternoon outside his mother’s house in downtown Lancaster.
Heather MacDonald, the brilliant author of The War on Cops, decries this development:
  • If the nation’s police officers walked off the job today, it would be hard to blame them. Sunday’s anti-cop riots in Lancaster, Pa., have made the current de facto rules of engagement clear: Officers may never defend themselves against lethal force if their attacker is a minority. They should simply accept being shot or stabbed as penance for their alleged racism.

In Lancaster, an officer responded to a domestic violence call at a residence where a man had stabbed four people last year. As the officer approached the house, a female escaped out the front door. A man — the suspect from the previous slashings — then emerged and ran at the officer, brandishing a knife over his head. The officer shot him, as the officer was by all appearances legally authorized to do, to stop the threat of deadly force. Twenty-seven-year-old Ricardo Munoz died from the officer’s gunfire.
Bodycam shows police shoot knife-wielding man in Lancaster, PA

The response from the “community,” after this summer of lethal cop hatred, was predictable. Rioters pelted Lancaster cops with bricks, glass bottles, and sharp projectiles ripped from road barricades. They smashed the windows of police cruisers, the downtown police precinct, the post office, cafés and stores. They torched a dumpster dragged from another part of the city. They pulled street signs and bike racks out of sidewalks to use against the police.

Such anarchy, with its photogenic arson, is just the latest chapter in the violence that is now routinely directed at officers during ordinary law enforcement activities, as well as during riots.
This is going to be the rule from here on out - cops shoot someone, no matter how justifiably, and the terrorists are going to burn something somewhere that night. Because you can't expect someone who has been lied to by years of indoctrination that they're "oppressed" (in the freest civilization ever created) to actually follow the rules of a civilized society.

Watch your backs.

Not Only Shooting

  • Chicago police have issued a community alert about a series of motor vehicle thefts, carjackings and robberies targeting women in less than a twelve-hour span this past Sunday.

In each incident, the offenders, who were armed with handguns, either took vehicles that were left running or stole ones that were occupied, the Chicago Police Department said.

Using the stolen vehicles, the offenders then robbed women, either displaying guns in the incident or implying they had weapons before taking property from the victims.
    Local

The nine incidents occurred in the Lake View, West Town and Wrigleville neighborhoods as well as on the Lower West Side between 3 a.m. and 2:06 p.m. Sunday.
But it's okay. The District in question probably sent half-a-dozen cars to the west and south sides the other night to make sure killings didn't rise above 15...and it was a success. Now the Commander will have to answer for why his robberies are through the roof.

More Magic Money

  • The City of Chicago launched a city-wide effort to recruit and hire contact tracers with about 500 jobs available.

The hiring is being done through 31 different community based organizations through a $56 million grant from the federal government.

The idea is to create jobs that benefit those communities hit hardest by COVID-19.
Oh, Federal money. Better keep close track of the spending so Washington doesn't demand it back like just happened with those other grants.

Tick-tock Groot.

Is the End Near?

Pretty much every social media platform bans anything supporting the police while promoting "protestors," terrorist organizations and every anti-police whack-job out there. Organized groups are dox-ing cops, threatening our families and anyone who "backs the Blue"....and this is permitted.

We have received a number of warnings from Blogger and had a couple of posts taken down from earlier this summer due to a concerted effort by the CTU for merely pointing out what their members have posted on their social media accounts.

We didn't manipulate anything. We didn't lie about what they said. We merely re-posted what they had already broadcast to the world. And our posts were removed.

We're expecting more of the same after this weekend, so we're warning the readers that it is very possible as the election nears and the leftist psychoses bubble to the surface more often, you will wake up one day and find the blog severely curtailed.....or missing entirely.

No doubt, some will find that a relief. Others not so much. It is part-and-parcel of the stranglehold major media companies have on the flow of information.

Be warned.

Name This Tune

The CWB blog heard someone had fired a gun near Wrigley Field. A Patrol unit called in loud reports and a whole bunch of people called 911. CWB did some digging. See if you can hear anything in this video clip - be sure you turn the volume up so you don't miss anything:

Media Affairs said the incident “turned out to be not bonafide.”

We'll pause here so you can go back and play the video again....if you didn't hear it the first time.

Here's a secret Groot and Brownie don't want you to know:
  • Unless there's a ShotSpotter hit, a casualty, some sort of damage or shell casings found, the "Shots Fired" didn't happen and isn't recorded anywhere except as a 19-Paul.
The reasons for this are many:
  • no victim = no crime;
  • keeping cars off the street inventorying shell casings is cost prohibitive;
  • "testing" evidence for non-existent prosecutions doesn't make budgetary sense;
On any given day, there are between 200 and 500 "Shots Fired calls citywide. Many are bullshit. Many fall into the above categories. On the weekends, there are thousands.

And on average, there are two dead and a dozen wounded every single day, which should give you a small idea of how bad it truly is out there.

And after being embarrassed by an alternative media source, Media Affairs released the following after the close of business:
  • Update 5:11 p.m. — Within the past hour, another CPD spokesperson said in an email that police returned to the area “after video…evidence surfaced.” Officers located shell casings near Addison and Wilton, the spokesperson said.
Good thing there wasn't a dead body there for sixteen hours.

Here's an Idea for the FOP

Protestors are using real time "dox-ing" to harass and terrorize Officer families. And here's more proof:
  • Rochester Police Department (RPD) officers have been given permission to cover up their names displayed on their tags to avoid harassment from left-wing protesters, who are screaming out their home addresses, kids’ names and schools, and making taunting calls to their parents in front of them. They are also spreading personal information about the cops via social media.

“The past couple of months officers names have been researched by protesters to put personal information out to the public, putting the safety of their families in jeopardy,” said a statement from RPD Chief La’Ron Singletary, who announced his resignation earlier this week.

“Officers have been allowed to remove their name tags in an effort to prevent their personal information from being spread on social media,” Singletary added.
And for all those who claim that the "rioters" wouldn't do such things, we refer you to yesterday's post about Mt Greenwood. they didn't pick that neighborhood at random and they didn't target houses at random either.

Groot is infamous for saying her wife and daughter didn't sign up to be protested at the home at 3434 W. Wrightwood.

Neither did ours.

No Good Deed

Prickwrinkle's County Board has refused to endorse two judges for retention. One for being accused of being a sexual pervert and the other for putting Crimesha on the hot seat:
  • The Cook County Democratic Party will not endorse the retention bid of the judge who appointed a special prosecutor to investigate how State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office handled the Jussie Smollett case. Cook County Judge Michael Toomin officially lost the backing of the party on Monday after a committee voted overwhelmingly for a motion not to endorse him, citing its investigation of his record on overseeing the juvenile justice division but not the Smollett controversy.

    [...]

Toomin, who presided over the high-profile case of the Chicago actor accused of staging a hate crime against himself last year, said he believes the fallout stems from his decision to appoint Dan Webb to look into why the state’s attorney’s office dropped all 16 felony charges against Smollett. In a news release Monday, Toomin did not mention the investigation into the juvenile division but characterized the vote on him as “retribution” for appointing the special prosecutor.
Since we always vote "NO" on judicial retention across the board, this means little to us. And Toomin was also part of Shady Ed Burke's "investment club" we wrote about here last week. And there's little doubt he's part of the old Machine crew, which is slowly being forced out by the Prickwrinkle organization, whoever is running the Hispanic coalition, numerous FBI investigations and Father Time.

Fun times.

House Arrest

  • A West Side man on house arrest for a gun case is accused of opening fire on members of a family he’d just met at a weekend birthday party in South Austin, killing two and wounding three before someone shot him, prosecutors said Monday.

Cook County prosecutors described in court how a late-night gathering with cocktails and music turned bloody early Saturday when Timmy Jordan, 39, fired seven to 10 shots into a group of revelers, striking five relatives outside a two-story apartment building in the 100 block of North Central Avenue.

One of those wounded, a concealed carry license holder, pulled his own gun and wounded Jordan before dying, authorities said.
He wasn't just on "house arrest" for a gun charge:
  • In addition to his pending gun case, Jordan has two prior gun convictions. Prosecutors noted that felons are barred from possessing firearms...
But don't worry - Brownie is really pissed this time:
  • At a Monday morning news conference, Chicago police Superintendent David Brown said Jordan should have been in the jail instead of on the street. “What are we doing? I mean, it’s beyond frustrating. It makes your blood boil if you’re one of those victims,” Brown said. “This is what we are doing. We’re making the arrest of people who possess illegal guns, which should make us safer, and yet every weekend we can bring forth an example of a person out of jail that should be in jail.”
Once again, the campaign commercials for O'Brien write themselves against Crimesha.

Hey Groot

Anyone else think this is a terror threat?

This is the chief of staff for the 33rd ward alderman Rossana Rodriguez, which means she is being paid via taxpayer money at some point. Rodriguez is a self declared socialist, so no doubt she hires like minded subversives.

Harassment is "Art"?

You've got to be fucking kidding us:
  • So tonight Antifa drove up and down mount greenwood streets. There were times they would get of their car and shine flash lights in people faces to try and start trouble.

They told 022 It was a art project. They went to any home and recorded homes with addresses that had blue lives matter trump flags ect. I personally saw them recording a little girl on a bike who was terrified and tried to cover her face. We were ordered not to engage at all.

I am furious and outraged and sickened by this and makes me sick to my stomach. The good men of mount greenwood came out and told them to leave. One vehicle proudly said " we are Antifa and we are recording all of you !"
A couple of the license plates were from Oregon...and a teacher from Chicago (click for larger version):

And yet another CPS communist teacher named Carew Jillian.

So teachers are now going around to peaceful neighborhoods, filming children and calling it "art."

We can think of a few other "art projects" that might be interesting. One involves naming participants in the harassment.
