In 2013, Illinois led the country as one of the first states to issue temporary visitor driver’s licenses to help drivers who passed road tests regardless of immigration status. The 2024 law allowed undocumented immigrants to receive standard IDs without the large purple mark stating not valid for identification.
House Bill 3125 will allow anyone with a TVDL for at least two years to teach driving courses. Sponsors said this change will help expand the people eligible to become driving instructors without reducing qualifications for the job.
There weren't any Illinoisans looking for a job opportunity?

Will the dmv then be hiring a slew of other language than english speaking testing personnel, printing a multitude of not english literatures, a bevy of standing by non english speaking translators, greeters, etc., in addition to producing dl's in these multiple languages on demand?

Correct me if I am wrong: An illegal family (2 adults, 4 children) will receive the following for FREE: Housing $36,000 a year (rent $3,000/month), Medicaid $30,000+ a year (no deductions or out of pocket payments), Link Card $15,000 a year, grammar or High School Education $80,000 (at least $20,000 per student), FREE school breakfast and FREE school lunch ($26,400 = $15 per meal x 2 meals x 220 school days x 4 students), Supplemental Link Card if children are under five $5,000, subsidized Heat and Electricity $2,400 ($100 per month x 12 x 2), free CTA passes ($$$$$?), eventually FREE College $320,000 but probably more ($20,000 year x 4 years x 4 students). Even if the father works FULL time at $15/hour which is $31,200 a year ($15 x 2,080), they would still get all this SHIT Free because they are below the poverty line. Probably would get the Earned Tax Credit too ($15,000 cash from Fed and IL) and ($8,000 cash in refundable child credits ($2,000 x 4). All without paying into the tax pool. Why should we be upset?
The State of Michigan DMV was selling CDLs for $200.00 to the illegal aliens right at the testing center. No forms, no tests, just have the cash. They got better service than the citizens waiting in line. Does Illinois offer fast track service?

It seems like it’s very easy for anybody to get an ID. That eliminates the argument against voter ID.
My road test 'tester' in Lake Zurich barely spoke English. None of the 'applicants knew what he was saying and he walking up and down the line of applicants. Finally he pulled out a DL and showed it, ME. He had to point directions and such......I passed but he was upset with me for not following his instructions.

I absolutely hated the idea of a TVDL when I first heard about it. However, after growing up, I realized I'll get ideally more sane drivers with proper name/dob than say a freaking passport.... or the classic "international driver's license."

Feds should decertiy Illinois ID's and Real ID's. No federal building or airplane access. All drivers pulled over out of state get arrested, turned over to Feds for confirmation of citizenship status.

Was at the Farmers Market at The Daley Center last Thursday. There, I saw numerous elderly Chinese people purchase jars of honey with paper vouchers issued by the city. The farmer told me it happens every week. I’m sure these people put decades of work in the good old United States. We are screwed.
