Anyone See This Piece?
Can't find it on the Channel 7 website yet, but they had a story on tonight about an alleged plot to kill a police officer in Garfield Park. Two arrests were made and a couple of guns recovered. Anyone have details?

havent seen the news but i came in on the tail end of a chase last night in garfield park and in the alley they caught a guy in a gangway.found the gun he tossed.joe kept talking about his cuz being killed by the po po couple weeks ago and he was scared when he was stopped and he ran.is that the news story?

I've worked as a detective with Northside. He'll deny it but he probably does have more Part I felony arrests than anyone in CPD history. He's also very smart but dismisses that as being a negative thing because some get jealous.
What I like best about him is his passion for a dept. free of politics. He may be too idealistic for his own good. He loved catching bad guys including crooked politicians and bosses in the rigged promotions.
Whenever I see an anonymous poster who trys to drag him and even his dead parents through slime, I read it as a compliment to his credibility and commitment to fight the good fight and make the CPD a professional PD that we can all be proud.
I have the utmost respect for John.
Every time you see some anonymous post trying to put him down, I translate it as Northside will not be silenced and he just might make a difference.
I also believes that he actually enjoys stirring up such hatred by only being truthful. It means he's struck a raw nerve with the powers that be.
I saw him last month at Grunts and he knows who I am. Keep on telling it like it is, John.

I worked Property Crimes. In our best periods, my partner and me made a dozen felony arrests. So if a dick averaged just 5 felony arrests per period for 20 years, he'd have 1200 felony arrests.
5 x 12 x 20 = 1200 arrests. Consistency would be the key.

Being a big-time Sox fan, this felony arrest thing reminds me of Henry Aaron, Babe Ruth and Barry Bonds in career homers.
Felony arrests for officers should be tracked. My guess is that the reason they don't is because most bosses would be lifetime .220 hitters with most of their careers on the bench or in the minors.

Fifteen years ago some of the most enthusiastic, energetic policeman on the street were straight out of the academy and out on to what was left of the westside. We made our share off mistakes but learned quick. Kept my mouth shut with the old timers and listened even if I didn't quite agree with staying down forty-five minutes before coming clear with a 14-P. We never turned in a lot of parkers, movers, and bus checks written, however, we had the lionshare of PSMV'S, robberies, UUW, and assorted nonsence as well. Sorry to read all the bashing of TRU. Hope it's not true. But if your shot somewhere you better hope a two year wonder with some lung capacity can carry your ass into a sqaud car and hustle you off to County. I can't see to many old timers (ten years plus) doing that.
45 minutes.how many beer and a shot did the old timer get in at the bar during that time/
