Some pictures forwarded to us from Washington DC. Can't post all of them because these things are HUGE files. But this is a nice sampling of some highlights.

We are the Police...We are the Chicago Police.....It doesn't matter where we live, where we work, who our favorite baseball team is, what matters most is, that we are united as one....not white, not hispanic, not black, but BLUE! Please stop this backstabbing B.S. that goes on here and unite together to be proud of ourselves. We let the little rat down at City Hall win when we divide ourselves. If, God forbid, something like the "Days of Rage" or the 68 Convention were to happen here now, are we gonna worry about this chit? NO, we will unite and take care of each other the way we should. Be safe, Be strong, BE PROUD CPD

Off topic...but, I thought it was important enough to share with all fellow officers of the CPD... While in Washington, D.C., at the Police Memorial, an announcement was made at a celebration (tavern) regarding the shooting of Det. P. Johnson. A moment of silence was dedicated, and you could have heard a pin drop. Prayers were requested by thousands of fellow officers from around the country and the D.J. played song, "I'm proud to be an American", Thanks to all the officers from around the country who expressed their good wishes and heartfelt prayers to Det. Johnson. Talk about a feeling of camaraderie! Thanks guys for your show of support to CPD.

Well said, you're 100% correct!!
However, look at the whole picture.
The instructors in the academy teach the recruits...

"when you get out there your shirt is blue like a 20 year veteran"

Some of the new breed supervisors NEVER did a fucking thing as a patrolman and now they have power??

It's a crime and a shame. Several years ago there was a young copper (Kurtz) who killed himself on duty, after talking to one of these new breed supervisors.

You got the right idea, but how can the mentality be changed?

I was in DC. Overall it was a very good trip. However, I did find it sickening to watch the amount of CPD officers that left as soon as the President was done speaking. They could not even wait to hear the name of a fellow CPD member, that gave his life, read aloud at the final roll call of the fallen.

It was nice to see that many did persist and followed tradition. LAPD and CPD stayed until the bitter end and saluted the Solorio family as they left the capitol.

And AGAIN our FOP union members attending on our dime. Did they bring ANYTHING to hang on the wall? NOPE? Not even a cheap ass little card that they hand out at wakes. NOPE? How about a patch or two? NOPE? What the fuck guys. How do you justify us paying for your trips and then there is nothing on that wall to represent us? How about a party is planned for all Chicago Police officers in DC and you guys pick the same night to go out to dinner and miss the party? Are you too good for the people you represent? I saw the Sup there so I guess he doesn't feel the same way. Kudos to the people who helped plan the trip. It was a great time! FUCK THE FOP who can't spend a dime if it isn't on themselves! You should be ashamed of yourselves. Mrs. Solario should have seen SOMETHING on that wall. Or flowers....or a card.....SHAME ON YOU!

We all need to band together because that's what we do. When push comes to shove-in all its morphing forms-we are ONE department with ONE objective: finish our shift in tact and go home in one piece. Everything else is secondary.

Be BLUE, Be true and let us never forget those who have given their all.

we may not be able to change everyone but, we can start with ourselves. at least we'll gain the majority of the dept. with officers having this type of mentality.
