Correct us if we're wrong, but the only circumstances in which one discharges a "firearm, stun gun or Taser" is to potentially strike someone, be it a resister, assailant or nut job with a knife.
So the "new and improved" OPS is going to investigate every single instance? Where are these investigators going to come from? Where's the money budgeted for this monstrosity? What does their training curriculum look like? And if they have subpoena powers, at what point do our 5th Amendment protections kick in? Just a few questions that the Department and the FOP ought to be asking and answering.

Question for any Chicago Cop:
If someone offered you $250,000 to walk around the streets of Englewood on a hot summer night with your wife and kids with you, would you take it?
For $250,000, you would have to walk around for 1 hour in the Level 2 DOC between 5900 to 7500, Wentworth to Racine. You would have to continually walk up and down the side streets from 8 pm to 9pm with no gun, radio or cell phone. It would be similar to an Urban Survivor or Englewood Survivor? Do you think you would come out unharmed or even alive?
If you wouldn't do it for $250,000, how much would you do it for??

Does anyone know what the Illinois State law is regarding Congressman having tinted windows on the front windows when they display Illinois Congressional license plates?
Doesn't Congressman JJ Jr drive a large SUV with all of his windows tinted very darkly? Is there a special law or exemption for this that gives Congressman special priviliges over the tax payers ? And don't CPD officers drive him around?
I know he deserves where he is at through his hard work and would have been in the same position regardless of nepotism and him NOT attending the Chicago Public School system. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

There is such a backlog at OPS now its crazy,not too long ago i had a # as a witness. The incident was like 18 or 19 months old,and they were just getting around to it??? WTF...R/O has no knowledge!!!! I also took a # years ago, and found i was off the day stated on the complaint. The investigator changed the date 3 times, trying to get it to work for him. Because i was on 1st watch and it was my weekend at the time of the aledged incident , this got him flustered!! My last to/from stated that i would be more than happy to hold a class for the{colege ejumakated} investigators to teach them to read and understand the CPD calander, and how d.o.g.s work. After my Capt. and i were done laughing he sugested i rewrite it, someone might get offended and find it sustained!! Thats our O.P.S.!! If im not mistaken they had to go to the acadamy to get some training by OUR Dics on how to conduct an investigation......WHAT?? You already have the job but cant do an investigation?!?!?!? I also understand they dont have the final say on the disposition of the case. What are the credentials of the man behind the curtain then?? Or should i ask CLOUT?

I don't live downtown, nor in Lincoln Park... The mayor and a great deal of his friends in the media do. As of right now, I no longer care about the enforcement of any laws in 001, 002, 003, 005, 006, 007, 011, 014, 015, 018, 020, etc. I either can't afford to live there, or don't desire to. Why should I continue to stick out my neck to enforce the law, and make those neighborhoods a safe environment for others? From now on, when I take enforcement action, it will be in my own neighborhood, where I'll do whatever needs be done to continue to provide a safe environment for my family, friends, and those who appreciate it. WHY DOES THE NEW OPS HAVE TO BE POLICE HATERS OR POLICE LOVERS. WHY CANT WE JUST HAVE A PROFESIONAL OPS NOT BIASED MY POLITICS or MEDIA ?
Say what you will about Leo and I agree that he's a nitwit with an IQ about 1% above that of an absolute moron but I have to give credit where credit is due. He looked sharp on TV last night with capturing the father in Indiana. His flack jacket didn't make him look like the idiot some of you would like - he looked like a man who could get things done and would kick in whatever doors are necessary to do it. I've rarely seen a Commander look more like a man who was willing to lead his troops into battle against whatever evil is out there. You can bet he garnered points big time for both himself and the Dept.
OTOH, God only knows how many laws he broke going into Indiana to grab Daddy. But at least he didn't kidnap the guy and drag him back into Illinois as I would have expected. There was probably an Indiana State Police commander around who stopped him. I can also imagine the high-speed chase which took place. It all seems pretty excessive but 35th Street probably views the positive PR as well worth it.

97% of the time you can't be hurt for doing your job. It's when you take a shortcut, either motherfucking someone, kicking a little ass, not doing paper when it should be. There is always going to be the possibility you can get jammed up for bullshit, but I'll bet I have less of a chance than others.

The city will be on it's knees. we will have to get our own guns and board up our houses. O wait we do that now. They are changing "White Hen Pantry" stores to "Seven Eleven" in honor of all the beat cars that hang out there.

I don't know anything about him, but he did look/sound professional & ready to kick ass,
It's also refreshing to see a District Commander who looks like they're in shape --- not gut haning below the belt/red face, healthy and built like one of our A/2 Gun Team Members aka Mack Trucks...
I have known Leo and worked with him in the past. He is a down to earth tact guy at heart. Not to mention a person who will help anyone wearing a uniform. Stand up, which is more than I can say about most.
Any blue shirt who pulled what Leo did would have every nervous nellie boss on his watch or in his District looking for his scalp and screaming into the radio to terminate the chase. Forget about crossing the Stateline, forget about hot pursuit. Remember, nothing that Leo did was really necessary - this was a known offender - he was going to turn up, there was no need for the chase other than Leo proving his manliness. Suppose for the sake of argument that somebody had been killed during the chase or the arrest - nonr of us would look too good then.
The City can do nothing without the approval of the Lodge.

That is a good thing i like 7-11 coffee better and they have better magazines to read! you keep on working hard kid and you will go places like to unemployment,court,prison, etc yes the city will take care of you! SEE YOU AT YOUR FUND RAISER!

Interesting point on the UNEMPLOYMENT, some officers who have been fired have received it and others have had it contested by the City and lost.
Another one of those mysteries, does CLOUT extend to those who file for unemployment while 30 days pending too?

Of course clout rules just call your clout and it is all taken care of! But you may have to buy fund raising tickets so clout can pocket some cash! or if your like me no clout your sol!
