First Deputy Office Dissolved
As of today, the Office of the First Deputy (Unit 140) is dissolved?
We heard a bunch of people were headed back to the Districts as a result. Is this another HQ dumping? Anyone got numbers?

Did Teddy get dumped and have to go back to the Area. I always wondered why the 1st needed a det. in his office. Hmmmmmm.
Who is the first dep. anyway? I guess after Townsend, it was all over. Snethen did it.

Go the fax network in the intranet. Funny how a big ass order came out and no one noticed. It's dated 30 Dec. It also includes some recruits which they decided to move right before their probation ends. I haven't seen a super secret Pers. Order in all my time on the job. Strange. If you don't have the info, I can email you tomorrow.

TOWNSEND WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE A JAGOFF...
The 1st's office will be collapsed into the policy group. Expect 4 hour days and an increase in motivational speakers. In addition, expect general orders on approved pens to use for reports and secondary approved sunglasses to supplement the order for primary approved sunglasses due out this month. Sunglasses qulaification also begins this month, many will be trained but none will be allowed to wear the approved sunglasses because the mayor does not approve and he is not related to anyone in the sunglasses business that can make some money. Both orders will be rescinded within a week of publish, in addition to the prescribed alternate flashlight order which came out in December (are you fucking kidding me?).
We will also see the policy group form their own platoon to work Friday nights playing police and going to 4 hour dinners with Ray Ray and Masters of the Universe leading the charge, all on overtime of course!

nope they just went to a different unit number. same shit different designation. the order was interesting clout city all in print.
Don't worry, the pets were moved into other units a few months back. Like the female PO receptionist in iad that has a take home rental car. It's all legit.

How many people were in that Unit? How many are really going to hit the street as opposed to be hidden somewhere else @ 35th?
Dave would probably come back if they made him the "2nd Deputy Superintendent." He would straighten out this mess with some good ole fashion "common sense." Nuff said.

He has no idea, it was rumoured he was detailed to four different spots throughout the day on Tuesday.
The office was dissolved, but the only thing they did is transfer people from one unit to the new unit. Same people, different unit number
Dave would probably come back if they made him the "2nd Deputy Superintendent." He would straighten out this mess with some good ole fashion "common sense." Nuff said.

Does everyone know the story behind Dave and the "2nd Deputy" title. I don't know him but heard that hilarious story. Someone in the know should tell it so we can have a good laugh into 2009.

OK, here is the true story about the 2nd deputy stuff: Dave Snethen was working the 3rd watch desk in Special Operations and the guys were messing with him on the phone calling and saying they were this boss and that boss, then one night the real 1st deputry called who was Townsend, Snethen answered the phone and when Townsend said that "This is the 1st deputy calling, Snethen thinking it was another prank call replied" Yeah and I'm the 2nd deputy and hung up, Townsend called back and asked for the W/C who was Sgt. Chester Marczak, After a brief exchange of words Sgt. Marzcak and PO. Snethen were DUMPED from the unit the very next day, After about 2 weeks Lt. Bosse explianed the whole situation to Townsend who laughed it off and brought the Sgt. back to SOS but not Snethen he stayed dumped and that Boys and Girls is the real story about the 2nd deputy.
the order is out---look it up on the fax messages in i-clear. all these clout babies got moved to other units or to newly created units. all bullshit as usual

The First Deputy traditionaly ran the day to day operations while the Superintendent was the political figure head. Weis' head must have just got too big.
Different name, same old game! Nothing but the unit designators changed. Who's kidding who here?

Snethen-tell the story! He didn't stay dumped. I was there that night. There was no crank calls. Let him tell the story.
Townsend was 'ol man Daley's bodyguard. He was a yes- man with the Daley's all the way. AFter leaving CPD he got another cush $$ job at O'hare for that second fat pension, too bad he didn't live long enough to enjoy it. He walked around O'hare with the same old scowl on his face like he did at headquarters.
Please keep Willis in a "spot." We wouldn't want him on the street. He'd hurt more coppers than the criminals do.
