Someone, anyone, tell us this is a joke:
- Weis says that there's going to be public hearings on whether or not to deploy carbines. Is he nuts?
We can't find this in any media clips, articles or whatnot. But you and we all know that "public hearings" would go exactly the way Shortshanks wants them to go and that means the Department will have spend untold hundreds of thousands of dollars and man hours on training, mounts, and maybe even the rifles themselves and not one officer or citizen is any safer and not one city site is more secure.

The city will never let anyone carry the M-4's. The lawyers have not had their final say and we all know the city is run by trial lawyers. guess what kids... the carbines that have already been purchased are going to the gang teams that are moving out of the districts on 08 jan 09. they will not get them on that date but they are earmarked for them and for area gun teams and midnight gang teams.. 50 gang teams with 8 people on each team = 400 people which means 200 cars(one carbine for each car. two gun teams per area equals 60 carbines. the extra 40 carbines will be used for training, pool weapons, and 10 for msf and 10 for tru...yes tru will get a few.. the city has yet to order any carbines for the districts yet...007 has a rack that was just assembled in the station...why would they put a new carbine rack in a station that is going to close in a few months and move to a new station....the reason, the gang teams are going to use the building tru is in for a few months then go to the old 007 after they install new equipment.

If the citizens don't want the police to have superior weapons (and other equipment) to those of the bad guys, then act accordingly when the shit hits the fan. Let SWAT do their thing. Even if it takes an hour or two to mobilize.
Shortshanks can come out to all shootings and tell the shooters and victims families that guns are illegal in Chicago. This should satisfy them.
I'm really surprised that the bambulance chasers haven't gone after the city for poorly equipping the police department. That the lack of proper equipment and training have led to the increase in shootings and murders.
