Bears Bow Out, Blackhawks Roll
We think they did better than we thought they would this year. But even one other win when it mattered would have only extended the season a week or so. We don't believe the Bears were a playoff caliber team this year. The defense is showing it's age, Orton might not be the answer and the receivers are nothing to write home about. How many touchdowns didn't Hester return this year that might have made a difference?
Now the Blackhawks on the other hand...
Now the Blackhawks on the other hand...
- ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Bring on the Detroit Red Wings and the Winter Classic.
Dustin Byfuglien led Chicago to its franchise-record ninth straight victory, scoring two goals and adding an assist in the Blackhawks' 4-1 decision over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night.
Chicago, set to play Detroit in a home-and-home series, broke the team record of eight straight victories set in December 1971 and matched in January 1981. With the nine-game streak, the Blackhawks tied San Jose for the longest run of the season.
We've got a good feeling about the Blackhawks this year. Rocky Wirtz is proving day in and day out that his father had the wrong business model in mind running this once proud franchise into the ground. We wish him continued success. And we are looking forward to the home-in-home series against the Red Wings. We will be at one of the games.

Kyle is our Quarterback.
I am so jealous! I really want to go to that game.
Anyone have any extra tix they can spare? And while you're at it, I could use airfare, some wheels and a place to crash.
Not asking too much now, am I? HA! :P
I really would love to go though.
For those who are luckey enough to see it up close and personal, have a blast and I'll need details, details, details!
Y'all be safe out there.
The Chicago Bears exceeded my expectations. Thank you guys for at least not going 0-16!

Shortly after the 49ers knocked off the Redskins in the season finale, the 49ers issued the following statement from GM Scot McCloughan.
“As we stated earlier when we named Mike Singletary interim coach, we felt that he had the leadership qualities and attention to detail needed to be successful in this position. We are extremely excited about what he has brought to the organization during his time as interim coach. Now that the season has concluded, we will enter into contract negotiations with Coach Singletary for him to become Head Coach of the San Francisco 49ers.”
Although the team was already boisterous following the last second victory, the locker room absolutely erupted when the news about Singletary was announced.

BEARS - BEARS - BEARS - BEARS - BEARS
The Bears need SAMURAI MIKE more than Lovie Smith. The team should never let their Hall of Famers leave the franchise. They are our link to team tradition and greatness, (witness the Blackhawk Ambassadors!)...
The Bears need a BILL PARCELS instead of Jerry Angelo. A guy who understands 'smashmouth football' and can build a winner fast, (witness the 2008, worst to first Miami Dolphins), not a pencil pusher from the personnel office who has been promoted one level beyond his qualifications! Angelo's ability to evaluate football talent is highly suspect as indicated by the low percentage of Bear draft picks still with the team. I've also noticed more than a few former Bears starting for other teams in the league, either because Bear coaches wrote them off prematurely or Ted Philips would not pay them...
The Bears need RON RIVERA instead of Bob Babich... enough said!...

AMAZING!!!!! An Original Six franchise sets its own team record for most consecutive wins EVER and yet another team has already had a nine-game win streak THIS SEASON!
I guess that's why we love sports!
Yeah...........
I love hearing the crowd at home chant "DETROIT SUCKS,DETROIT SUCKS"! at almost all the home games. Visiting teams must find that funny.
If the city follows the Hawks model will we have to wait until Shortshank's kid is the mayor before we see the city run the right way?
DETROIT SUCKS!
Bring Home The Cup! I'm sure the getto will riot for this one....
Thank God the Bears are done. Now we can focus on the only winning team in town. The Hawks
I got a Winter Classic Blackhawks jersey for Christmas...and I'm wearing it proudly!!

KB,
If I come to that game in Chicago, you're stuck w/ me. I highly doubt I'd be leaving.
And you will protect me, won't you? ;)
