End-of-Year Spike?

The long holiday weekend for Christmas and temperatures threatening to break 60 degrees Saturday, will we see an outbreak of violence? WBBM 780 already has their Weekend Violence update section up and running Friday night:
  • Police responded to a shooting at 4245 W. Wilcox St. at 3:24 a.m. and found Colston shot multiple times on the street, Harrison District police said.

He had been shot in the torso. According to police, the shooting may have been a drive-by.

As always, be careful.

Put your cash on 011 for "the ghoul pool".

Time for a good ol' fashioned West Side "THREE BAGGER"???

What was the late Martece Colston doing out on the street at Kildare and Wilcox at such an ungodly hour?

That's a bad neighborhood!

He should have been hiding beneath his bed at the crib.

Hell SCC, you should know better.
You might as well just switch the "will we" with "we will" now and change the question mark to a period. Why waste a post on a question when you already know the answer?

Two sets of double shootings in Area 2 tonight. One of the four shot was flatlined but brought back to life and is hanging on by a thread.

In the double shooting in 22nd, one was female and one was male.. 115th Block of South Church Street.

Always funny to me that so many people get shot on a street named CHURCH in 022nd District. Maybe change the name of the street to HOSPITAL or MORGUE Street.

Give the troops a place to post all the reasons why since the Mayor can't seem to look at the state of our city and make a sound judgement call on his own!

Officers, keep in mind that with the rise in crime and us leading the nation in contract talk times, that gives us a total negative light and kills direct support.

Chicago Police today reported finding a John Doe male body in the Chicago River The victim apparently drowned due to excessive narcotics consumption. He was wearing black fishnet stockings, a red garter belt, a strap-on dildo, and an " Obama " T-shirt. He also had a cucumber stuffed up his ass.

The police thoughtfully removed the " Obama " T-shirt to spare the family any embarrassment.

To the person who mentioned the "Pension Fund". You are one of the few that get it. Wait until the Pension Fund and Annuity Booklet comes out after the first of the year. Last year, what were we? about 49% funded?
I would presume we drop to at least 45% this year if not more. CDS,CMO,CMBS and CDO- fund was invested in all of them. I would imagine some have lost at least 80% of their value.

FYI: On Christmas Eve around 4P.M.,(3) M/1/teens were in the area of 106th and Maplewood Ave. The subjects were hiding in a nearby alley/playlot.

A concerned citizen called the police and the 022nd District officers arrived in a timely manner.

As the officers approached the subjects all three fled and after a short foot pursuit a 9mm loaded semi-auto was recovered along with all three subjects. All of the subjects lived near the 6800 block of Talman.

The three subjects were most likely waiting to rob a family of Christmas presents and money from all of the Christmas parties in the area.

P.S. It is the season for the predators to go hunting. Please carry your guns on you, all the time. This is a heavily populated police area as you southsiders know, the criminals keep getting bolder!!!!!!!!

Good Job 022nd District.

Same story in the general vicinity of several alderman's offices and residences. I can't wait to move out of this fuckin' hellhole of a city. Just me venting, sorry for the eratic post.

Despite having a population almost three times larger than Chicago, the most current NYPD stats report only 480 homicides for 2008.

You couldn't find a more gracious and hospitable police department outside Chicago than our NYPD brothers and sisters. Be it an extradition or just a social visit to the Apple, they're the absolute best. Some MOS visit SCC just like we visit the NYPD RANT.

To all you (active and retired) guys out there working Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island, the BROTHERHOOD and I apologize to you on behalf of the CPD for the 2:12 PM imbecile (probably not CPD) who referred to the NYPD as "cocksuckers". Face it. We both have a few assholes OTJ.

Also, a special "shout out" to Larry, Vinnie. "Bklyn North" and "the Mechanic" (no tune up, thank you).

This past year I visited the Big Apple and the NYPD was fabulous. One female officer went above and beyond the call to help me get pigeon poop off the back of my shoulders (just missed the hair and clothing....whew). The guys walking the beat at Times Square on afternoons were great and pointed this lost tourist in the right direction.

Happy New Year to those on the CPD and NYPD.

Granted, it was a long time ago, but I think the judge had something there.

Sorry numb nuts but under the previous regime the books regularly came out later. Keep in mind that this year posed additional problems because of the new work schedule.

The 2008 book goes up to Jan 2009. You got the book before the year ended so who gives a fuck you cry baby bitch. Worry about things that are more important and don't stress out.

According to the Associated Press, NYPD's CompStat is reporting 501 homicides as of this morning.

Looks like we've got a race on to the yellow crime scene tape. The race ends at the stroke of midnight Wednesday. Watch out for Brooklyn momentum in the last furlong.

In either event, among major cities (over 250,000 population), Chicago has easily clinched the dubious distinction with the highest homicide RATE per capita.

What the fuck is with all of the Mount Greenwood and Beverly people whining about crime everything else? JESUS CHRIST. First you decide to move into a neighborhood surrounded by shit. Then you complain when the property taxes are going to be increased so much, they lower your taxes, which was the only place in the city sans the ghetto to actually receive a reduction. The property taxes, for a 3br/2ba you claim are too high are lower than any studio on the northside.

Now you are going to bitch about not having enough service...

Just like some other people that come to mind... You want more free shit.
