- For the second straight week the Bears win in overtime to keep their postseason hopes alive, which should make this an intriguing matchup. The Texans will want to get back on track after dropping a game to Oakland in Week 16. Houston had won four in a row before stumbling last week and has plenty of firepower to give the Bears problems. This should be a hard-fought battle.
The above from ESPN's site. Bears are three-and-a-half point favorites. We're sure that there's a whole scenario of other things that have to happen for the Bears to make it in unscathed, but firstly, they have to win. The Vikings are playing at the same time, so we're pretty sure the media will be cutting back and forth to heighten the tension.
UPDATE: Vikings win on last second field goal. So that's the end of the Division Championship hopes. Bears must win this game in the last seconds and then someone else has to lose for the Wild Card hopes.

SCC---Don't know if you can add a quick seperate blog about this or not but there was a shooting in 006 that was cleverly never mentioned in the news or by the department. 606 car on 001st watch in 006 was shot at. They were riding three deep and were shot at and luckily only the car they were in was damaged. How come this was never mentioned?? Please let your readers know about this... This department is a piece of shit. Usually when something like this happens they flood the area with all sorts of coppers and get some fucking answers but nothing of the sort happened. Be careful out there!!!

Because it is no real big deal. Ask yourself...who cares? Just us, the police. Thing is, that is part of your job - Dud hates you, dude will do things to you. Believe it or not, a lot of shit like this goes on, you should know that from being in 6. Talk to Officers in 4,5,7,8,10,11,15,and 25. There is plenty that goes on that is not reported, cops being shot at, not just the squad car, cops getting stabbed, etc...
Remeber you signed up for this, so you should espect it. The Sun Times and Trib do not care, and let us not even mention the broadcast media....
Fire Lov-eye and the two mentally underdeveloped quarterbacks by 11:59 AM and the Bears might have a chance.

The answer to your question is no for UCR reporting purposes. That being said, the medical examiner would still classify it as a homicide. It just don't count as far as crime stats go.
It is the 3rd quarter. I'am watching the Bears. They are not a good team. Fire the owners, the coaches and half of the players.

Yes, it does count (at least originally) as a homicide. There's something to be said about the sick feeling you get in your stomach when you, the officer, is in the "Offender" box on a GOCR for 0110. It was, without a doubt, one of the weirdest feelings I've experienced. It is ultimately classified as a "Justifiable Homicide" when you're finished with the Round Table. So herein lies the dilemma: Is dude getting smoked by the police count towards the tally of homicides when they're classified as justifiable? I would think not.

The Murder total for the city at the end of the year is based on homicides that are a result of an illegal action - not the lawful taking of a life.

Where the fuck do you work? In 012? The I-UCR should be for something like a 051A or 041A with the bad, DEAD, guy listed as the offender. Then explain your justified use of DEADLY force in the narrative.
Correct the dispatcher over the air when they automatically, and stupidly, pull an RD number for the 041a or 0110 against the police.

You said the news and the department - I told you nobody in the news would care, and I think even in your tough guy talk, we can agree on that.
You mentioned the Department in your repost when you called me an asshole for pointing out the obvious.
I do know that I said talk with any officers in 4,5,6,7,8,10,11,15 and 25 - stuff like this happens all the time an NOBODY talks about it, reports it, or makes a training video off it. Why? It is really not news worthy. Happens a lot, talk to people, they will tell you. I gave you for credit for working in 6, but maybe I should have not, you do not seem so brite.
Someone earlier posted something about you to quit looking for the news to report on "your big event". Seems to me now that this poster was correct about you - you seem like you are one of those glory hounds who thiks that because something like this happened to you, or your buddy while during your tour of duty, well, now IT IS news worthy.
