VHS Dies

We're surprised anyone still used it for movies:
  • Pop culture is hitting the eject button on the VHS tape, the once ubiquitous home video format that will finish this month as a creaky ghost of Christmas past.

After three decades of steady if unspectacular service, the spinning wheels of the home entertainment stalwart are slowing to a halt at retail outlets. On a crisp Friday morning in October, the final truckload of VHS tapes rolled out of a Palm Harbor, Fla., warehouse run by Ryan Kugler, the last major supplier of the tapes.

"It's dead, this is it, this is the last Christmas, without a doubt," said Kugler, 34, a Southern California businessman. "I was the last one buying VHS and the last one selling it, and I'm done. Anything left in warehouse we'll just give away or throw away."
Today, VHS. Tomorrow, the newspapers.

Hopefully, daley's Machine will die right along w/VHS.
Both had served a purpose, but are no longer useful and are too expensive in this day and age....

You must be one of our new super-geek cops. Do you even know what an arrest report looks like?

I wanted to stay with 8-track over cassette tapes. The 8-track had the album cover; I said cassette will never catch on:
I had Beta over VHS formate- the picture was better and the tape smaller, oh well;
Now dvds are out: maybe blue-ray?

I thought J-FED would be better than Cline (NOT)
At least CLINE was the police.

NO CONFIDENCE FoR J-PUD

Signed
almost always the wrong choice except now.

Apple IIe? I probably have some Apple II+ programs that will run.
Actually have a couple II+'s and a IIe I'd sell you cheap....

So if VHS goes away, and I don't want to have a subscription to TIVO to PAY to record movies, what do I do??

Gosh, what did we do with all our money before we paid for pagers, cell phones, cable, internet service and TIVO?
