Trooper Injured
ISP had a trooper hit on the Dan Ryan yesterday.
An Illinois State Police trooper was hit by a vehicle about 9 p.m. tonight on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
The female trooper suffered a broken leg, but the injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening, said Larry Langford, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman.
He could not say whether she was inside or outside her squad car when hit by the vehicle. She was taken via ambulance to Stroger Hospital.

God Bless and a speedy recovery!
God Bless the ISP and a quick recovery to the injured Trooper. The ISP is just another part of the family.
Just saw a video of Sgt Haymakers funeral
Thank you to all the ISP who attended
Feel better soon Trooper
Thoughts and prayers to the trooper and her family.
A speedy recovery to her. May she come back from this injury one hundred percent.
I saw the lights and wondered what was going on...G-d speed~!
Wishing you a speedy recovery Officer. We got our back.
Was on scene as well as at the hospital. From what I heard she was between her vehicle and another when her vehicle was rear ended. So far a broken pelvis, femer, as well as a host of other things. The good news is she was alert and responsive and could also feel everything that was going on.
Hopefully she'll make a full recovery. I've met her a couple of times on those bullshit joint missions. She's a nice lady and very friendly. Great response by 007,003, and the outside units on scene. Also en route to Stroger the 012th did a great job ensuring the route to the hospital was clear. Despite all this bullshit going on in our department as well as our line of work, it was a great f**king feeling to see coppers come together when another is in need. It reminded me why I joined
working those expressways 99 takes guts--- hopefully the trooper makes a full recovery from the injuries suffered during this accident......
Heard she was in critical condition.
No way this should be happening so close to our loss of Sgt Haymaker.
Hope that critical condition tag was only a precaution and she will be up and around shortly.
ISPeeved has up the Breaking News link that as of midnight is reporting "The female trooper suffered a broken leg, but the injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening".
BUT, "A state police sergeant said the trooper also might have suffered head injuries, and she was being treated at Stroger Hospital of Cook County".
We're praying for you, Trooper.

Correction. She was actually struck as she was conducting a traffic stop. The offending driver was not a DUI nor under the influence of any narcotic. The offending driver was on their cell phone texting when this incident occurred. At the time of this post, the ISP were looking at trying to get charges under Scotts Law. Hopefully the ASA's will not drop this one. The injuries of the trooper are quite extensive. She'll live, but has a long recovery ahead of her
ISP. Don't think for 1 minute that we (CPD) don't appreciate what you do. You're alone, on highways with idiots that seem to "go to the light...). I've met a few of you over the years. You're all great. Heal fast young lady!
ISP supervisors called in from home drove their personal cars to Stroger and parked on Ogden. Dept of Revenue ticketed the cars for not feeding the parking meters and then came back after midnight and put a second ticket on the cars for no parking on Ogden after midnight.
ISP, as you guys have always been there for us, we'll be there for you. God Bless you guys and a speedy recovery for the injured trooper.

Our prayers for a speedy and full recovery..
Cicero PD
Our prayers reach up for you and our fellow brothers in brown - like the previous poster said - it takes gonads to work the expressways 99. Hurry and get well quick! If ISP needs anything, I hope they know all they need to do is call.
Sorry to hear of the accident and hope the injured Trooper has a speedy recovery. I know we moan and groan a lot about being 99 and have to take my hat off to the Troopers who do everyday with backup miles away.
Take care our dear state police sister.
Speedy and FULL recovery officer. We are praying for you!
Speedy recovery!
The ISP are class acts, they are without a doubt an extension of the CPD family.
Get well trooper.
Prayers and a speedy recovery for the trooper!
My thoughts and prayers are with the Trooper. I pray for a speedy recovery.
You all PLEASE be safe.
God bless and speedy recovery fellow sister!
I heard from my buddy who works for Oak Lawn that if this is the Trooper he's thinking about, she is a very very nice person. What a shame.
Bad injuries - hope she comes out of it OK.
God bless and hope you get well soon. Take your time coming back, and make sure you're 100%. Gotta watch out for #1.
I love when I read the paper and it's being told that the trooper suffered a broken leg...like no big deal!!! Look at her injuries, I wish just once they will tell the truth!! I've always said I don't care what police dept. you work for...how big or small, WE are all the same!!! Good Luck Trooper take care of yourself you are in my prayers. A sister in Blue.
The Ilinois State Police had a great turnout at Sgt. Haymakers and P.O. Valadez's funeral services. We wish the injured Trooper a speedy recovery. God bless you and your family. We all need to say a prayer for our brothers and sisters in blue for a safe tour of duty. God bless America!
God Speed
God Bless. A speedy and full recovery to her. They have a hell of a job working 99 and back up nowhere close. That's why always take the time to stop and see if they are alright on a stop. No matter what our patch says or what Department we are on, we are all brothers and sisters.

If the city does not non-suit every one of those tickets, we should bombard the media and the politicians with thousands of calls and E-Mails. I would think someone told the people from Department of Revenue what was going on before they started writing. If so this is a war against them.
Stopped by County earlier today. She has multiple injuries and the full extent is still unknown. Hope for a full recovery.
I give you credit for working 99 when your backup is miles away!! God Bless you and your family...and please be pain free soon.

I hate this City.
God Bless you Trooper. I am praying for you!!
Was at CPD 11 today and wanted to thank you all for the assistance to our patrol and investigations teams. Nothing but the best. Thank you so much.
Tpr. Wilson out of surgery with rods on her legs, broken pelvis and breathing tube still in. Heavily sedated due to injuries and tube. Keep her in your prayer. I know you all will.
We all must stick together in these terrible times.
Thanks again
ISP brother
I hope for a fast full recovery for the Trooper. CPD will always have your back.
God Bless the ISP and all in "Blue"
Prayers to St. Michael for this hurt Trooper. Please at least slow down next time you see the ISP on a stop, 99, on the E-Way, and wait for the wave off....The least we can do for each other.
Revolver Police
CPD-When a Trooper has a car load of shit pulled over:
At least slow down, or stop and turn you're light bar on, if you get a wave off from the Trooper fine, if you get a wave to come and join the party...game on, and who's cuff's are on the first wins..

Was involved in the caravan en route to St Rogers and felt VERY proud to be apart of such a horrible incident. God bless ISP and CPD. PLEASE STAY SAFE
Was listening on zone 13, 012/009
great job to all involved, who was the Sgt in 012? had the e-way shut down, all the ramps and intersections blocked for the ambulance all the way to Stroger, is there protocol for that for the sgts in 012? is was so smooth it sounded like it's been done before because it went off without incident. kudos to all involved!!
ISP has been good to us at LOD deaths. My thoughts & prayers to this young trooper.
Every Sunday my pastor offers a prayer for all those who protect us, at home and abroad, including our 1st responders. "bring them home safely to their loved ones at end of watch." Our prayers are with the ISP trooper!

Speedy recovery trooper- this reminds me of when a tact team in the duce crashed on the ryan and the car started on fire and thanks to the troopers on the scene with fire extinguishers those guys lives were saved

Well those Revenue PUSSYS got something coming for that. Calling for help are you? Yeah gee squad I got a flat Ill be there as soon as I can.
Of all the Troopers I come into contact w/ Tpr. Wilson was extremely nice. I even assisted her
with a fix to her lightbar once.
I pray that she recovers physically and mentally from her injuries which are extensive. As for cell phones, good drivers don't use them in traffic.
Thanks to the CPD captain and officer who brought flowers and visited Tpr. Wilson today.
ISP brother
I pry for a speedy recovery and well wishes.

unfortunately, 012 has experience in injured / shot officers taken to Stroger. The W/C gets a heads up from the Zone and the WC and Sgts head to the hospital to get everything up and running. Parking lot shut down and officers posted at E/R to keep press from setting up, E/R rooms are set up for investigators family, and chaplains and cars are made available for escorts or to go get family members. The W/C and sgts make sure all needs are met. I guess now they have to make sure DOR doesn't start writing tickets. On many occasions, when they get the heads up on a deceased officer's remains being brought to the morgue, they set up an honor guard and blue lights going on the cars to meet the body of the deceased officer.
012 may be a slow district but they know how to kick it into high gear when a P.O. is injured.
I Know all about the pelvis injury. Its a sore recovery road but stay stronge and your gonna be up and about. Retire you deserve it. Lot of people pulling for ya!
Prayers go out to her and her family. Get well soon!
