Look at These INCREASES
Our friends over at HeyJackass.com have an interesting set of stats up:
- Hey SCC - With clear skies and 70 degree temps in late October, you knew it was going to be a shitshow this weekend. We ended up with 4 killed and 35 wounded vs last year’s weekend tally of 2 killed, 14 wounded.
Geez, a 100% increase over the same period as last year?
- As for Monday, at last count we're sitting at 2 killed and 12 wounded which makes it the 3rd worst Monday of the year.
For the month we're at 230 people shot, nearly double last October's 127 total.
And still three days to go:
- And for the year we've "shot" through 2,200 people shot which has already exceeded 2013's entire year tally.
That means that every wounding or maiming from weeks ago until the end of the year is a bonus shooting. Yet we don't doubt that the papers will be full of "Crime is Down!" headlines in a few days as the end of the month approaches. They'll claim everything else is down except shootings - and the media won't question which crimes the Department is lying about.

I'd love to know where the totals would be if the first three months of this year were just "normal" temps. We had a foot of snow dumped on us followed by -20 degree weather for a week. It was as miserable a winter as I can remember, but it helped out Comstat.
If one bullet goes through two people does that count as one or two shootings?

Compared to 20-25 years ago violent crime is down. Way down. People forget how bad it was in the bad ole days. Besides, now most of your shootings and killings are bad guys offing other bad guys. Who cares about that?
Maybe they should change the VRI hours. Let's face it, more shootings happen in the afternoon. Not at 2 or 3 in the morning.

Well, our murder rate made it into the script of Person of Interest last night, talking about how they don't want New York's crime rate to get out of control like in Chicago. Pitiful.

10/29/2014 01:22:00 AM In reality its worse now then before.25 years ago we had all the housing from Cabrini to Taylor homes. Medical advances have saved at least 50% of the people shot. The population of Chicago has gone down by the 100 thousands. And a lot of bad areas from back in the day have re-gentrified.. Plus the city kills 40% of the crimes..

As long as murders are down crime is down lol. It would be interesting to compare the number of shootings in the 80s and early 90:s to now. I believe shootings haven't gone down much if any however the number of people being saved has gone up significantly thanks to cellphones and paramedic care. Ems as a system has only been around for a little over 30 years. Every second counts with these victims.

Actually, that is wrong too.
In 1990 there were 13,403 Agg Assault + Aggravated Battery, Firearm
There were 9,909 Agg. Assault + Aggravated Battery, Knife
In 2010 There were 4,075 Agg. Assault+ Agg. Battery, Firearm
There were 3,496 Agg. Assault + Agg. Battery Knife
And yes, I was on the job before and after the department changed the Agg. Battery to mean a person had to be hit with the bullet, not just fired at and missed.
Hell, I even found that we have the same amount of trauma centers now as 1990.
I looked for anything to justify my opinion that crime is out of control. If someone else can, please post.
"TJ" is a Simon City Royal who is trying to bring his "old school gang" back to life. He is buying / paying other gang-bangers thousands of dollars to switch / flip to a Royal. The streets say They are responsible for alot of shootings from way up north to the deep West side. Him and his gang-banger friends are driving around in high end vehicles from Lamborghini's to Hummers.

You need to concern yourself with the 30 pending that is coming your way. Attempting to blackmail the superintendent with a nonexistent video with Rick Simon on a boat was the nail in your coffin. The voicemail you left at HQ claiming McCarthy was "finger fucking" a female p.o. while McCarthy's daughter and Rick Simon watched was classic. Also, when you send emails to the supe using a department computer, expect to get caught. You are a dumb fuck!
