Secret Recordings Jeopardize Prosecution
- Attorneys for a man charged with shooting a Chicago police officer in 2012 dropped another potential bombshell Friday: the existence of a recording that could contradict the sworn testimony of a Cook County prosecutor.
The disclosure further raises the chances that the judge hearing the case could throw out the arrest of Paris Sadler, who is charged with the attempted murder of Officer Del Pearson, Sadler's attorneys said.
The defense disclosed at a court hearing Friday that they had just learned that Sadler's mother, using her iPad, had secretly recorded video and audio of an approximately 30-minute interview of her by prosecutors a day after Pearson's shooting.
This would be a complete cluster-fuck of immense proportions.
