Bad Sports Day

Seems anything related to an ursine creature had a bad day today.

Bad news - We lost badly underestimating the football over/under and the baseball contest.

Good news - we only lost in toothpicks, since actual gambling would break laws and stuff.

Open post for now.

Da Bears did loose by a tiny bit to the Lions. However throughout the entire game Da Bears looked like the professional they are. They looked and plaid really really well. Their form was awesome. They flowed across the field like oil on water. They were poetry in motion. No team had ever looked more graceful in action. There are better days ahead.

Well...lifelong Sox fan though I am, I'm on the one hand rooting for the Cubs to finally do it and bring home a world series crown (though they've succeeded in digging themselves into a pretty tight hole at the moment). After a horrible sporting void lasting through my first 20 years when the Bears finally ended the drought, I've now lived long enough to see every other Chicago sports franchise bring home the top prize at least once, with two teams (the Bulls and Blackhawks) arguably establishing actual dynasties in the process. And I have to admit, I've kinda gotten used to the feeling...that of Chicago being the champs...and I've come to like it. A LOT. :) The Bears have done it. The White Sox have done it. The Bulls, six times. The Wolves, four times. The Blackhawks, three times. The Fire, four times. ALL of these during my own lifetime, which until January 20, 1986, I would have considered an impossible pipe dream.

Well Cubbies, that leaves just one Chicago team that I haven't seen do it yet (hint, hint!)...and above and beyond your bringing another championship home to Chicago, I'd also like to see that embarrassing 107-year-long drought come to an end at last.

Of course, on the other hand, the diehard Sox fan in me isn't quite ready for the world to come to an end just yet. "The Cubs Win! The Chicago Cubs are the 2015 World Series Champions! Next year is finally here! The fans in Wrigleyville are going nuts! And the Sun is falling out of the sky, the Heavenly Hosts are descending, and we're here with an exclusive interview with Jesus Christ to get his feelings about this incredible long-awaited victory before He starts handing out His judgments..." ;)

The Bears game was FIXED! That's the worst officiating I've seen in decades.
(maybe we need Instant Replay to verify the goddamn Instant Replay calls)

That being said, what the fuck happened to the Play Calling in Overtime?

The reason the Cubs have begun their slide is Rahm.
That slimy bastard has decided to ally himself with the Cubs.
Having a major league asshole like Rahm allying himself with your team is a curse far worse than any goat.

SCC, what happened to the lawsuit that the FOP filed against Recording Secretary Greg Bella? It was filed under Shields group. )over $200,000 was given to attorney. Depositions were taken and then we changed hands at fop. We have heard nothing about this suit. Is it being swept under the rug? Was there an agreement last election between Dean, bella and McDonough to make it go away?

I wholeheartedly agree. The officiating was the worst I've seen in over 40 years of watching NFL football.
The Bears didn't help their cause with lackluster play at times but they had the rug pulled right out from under them by the refs.
There seriously should be an investigation into some of the mind boggling calls, and non calls, in that game.

Prayer said, and there will be more for you. Have some serious medical problems myself, lucky to be here right now.

Astonishing what a quiet, beautiful world this can be when you don't run the streets all night like a wild animal, or hang on the corner with your 60 "friends" in front of Shooting Range Liquors, just waiting for that "dark-colored vehicle" to come around the block and open up.

Hang in there, my brother. I get the feeling that you will be here with us for a long time yet, plenty more lovely sunrises and peaceful sunsets for you as the grownups talk quietly over a cold one and the kiddies run across the grass...nice Polish and stuff sizzling on the grill.

"There is nothing more important in a day than all of the small things that go to make up that day."

I like that "Footprints In The Sand." Hanging in the hallway next to the rosary I kiss every time I get ready to go, and every time I make it back in the door safe. "I never left you alone. When you saw only one set of footprints, that was when I was carrying you."

Stay strong. Think of all the good stuff you still want to do. You got friends you may never meet, but who are pulling for you, keeping you in their hearts, all the way.

God bless and best wishes to you, our compatriot and great friend.

Check in here anytime and let us know how things are going. It matters -- one whole hell of a lot.

No campaign slick. Bella hasn't said boo about this and we as members are entitled to know. The money has never been accounted for. I'll admit I never cared for Bella and his tough guy attitude, but I was told that his pairing with Dean was agreement to make this lawsuit go away. Seeing that Bella bad mouthed Dean to us when he was a wagon guy in 025, it does seem strange that they would join forces. I will continue to watch the outcome of this suit.

++Seeing that Bella bad mouthed Dean to us when he was a wagon guy in 025, it does seem strange that they would join forces.++ (Yes, against the evil empire)

Compared to what Dougherty did to Shields and the rest of us, Dean's snow white.

Question to Mr. Campaigner: If the State FOP and Chicago has to give Shields settlement money for the willful and wanton violation of the by-laws by Dougherty, Ag-u-liar, Graham, Donahue, Street, et. al. should they be sued to recover the legal costs??

Their time is coming soon. Jimmy boy is only the first.

If Lodge 7 gives any money to Shields then Dean should step down as president. No board member should vote to give Shields one dime. Your key word in your statement is "settle". Board members know what Shields did and giving him money is no different than giving money to ***holes on the street when we arrest them.
