We are amused how the "protesters" are blocking an ambulance and claim, "There ain't no one in it." as if that justifies them stopping it from moving. Too bad if it was going to the latest scene of some 14 year old shot. We guess his life doesn't matter?

Allowing the protesters to close on the cops and make contact only emboldens them. Need a 5 yard minimum space or some type of force needed.
I saw the initial video on FACEBOOK which also had that scene where several people were in front of the Ambulance and the girl said, "Dere ain't nobody in there."
Why weren't ALL those people arrested? Same goes for those blocking the entrance to the Expressway?
Seeing that, I question, "Why would I ever go into Chicago and somehow get tied up like that on the street?"
Chicago has some HUGE, and I mean HUGE, problems with an image now of, "If you go down there, don't get stuck in the middle of some melee."
AND, it's NOT the police who should be worried about that image, it's the Mayor, City Council, the Civic Committee, North Michigan Avenue Merchants Association, and anyone else looking to see revenue coming into the city.
ALL those causing blockage to the streets should have been put on a thirty-day work detail to clean streets up.
TOO Draconian? Not at all. Exactly what is needed to teach some people some respect of others' rights.
Too bad Sheriff Arpaio did not make the Superintendent's list.

Could someone inform us how many case reports were generated for damage to property of Trump supporters vehicles last Friday evening and how many individuals were the victims of a battery by the protesters?
Bernie supporters are the first to get violent, which is amusing since most are weakly hippie types.
Lately, Bernie's folks are trying to intimidate Trump supporters with passive aggressive behavior such as posting their personal information online, keying their vehicles, etc, etc.
Bernie's results at this week's primary mean his chance at the Democratic nomination is over. There's no question about this, it's fact. For some reason Bernie's supporters still cling to the idea of his presidency. They are truly disillusioned.
I wonder what would have happened if the CPD only deployed black and brown officers to the protest. I recall during the World Trade Confrence some years back when Mauer had female officers 5.5 and under stand along Michigan Ave as the first line. Everyone was asking where all the men where. It gave the impression of the bigger protesters against the smaller officers, meanwhile officers 6ft and over where waiting in the wings in turtle gear.
If people are allowed to register on voting day. How do we know that convicted felons aren't voting?

I don't see any employable people here. I wouldn't even trust them with a paper route. They'd drop all the papers in the trash can and be like "yep, all delivered."

As a retired police officer, that made me sick to watch ~ I came on job in 1989 and can't believe just by watching that video, how much the job has changed for the worse. I could never make it as a police officer today because I would never be able to take that crap from those asshole protesters and would probably be sitting in jail. I commend those officers for their restraint.
Next time use water cannons. Not only do you dispel the crowd, these kids get their first shower in a month.

These idiots violated my civil rights. Why were they not arrested.The media won't show this because it doesn't fit the their agenda. OT- Sorry didn't know where else to post my rant. I tried to go shooting the last two days utilizing CPD facilities and have had nothing but voice mail recordings or told the range is down because of maintenance. Grand and Central not open, Belmont and Western not open, Academy, maintenance on both sides down for the day or classes. I live on the NW side sorry not gonna travel to 51st or 111th. I find this absolutely absurd not a single range out of three is open for officers to train in firearms proficiency over a two day period. This should not be. I do not like going to private ranges around here because they do not let law enforcement shoot from the holster, no double taps and no rapid fire. I understand safety and insurance issues but at least block off 2 or 3 booths for LEO's so we can practice like we would play. This department has become absolute shit in every aspect.

My God...I've never felt so sorry for ALL Law Enforcement officers, but especially our CPD, then now. I have MANY friends and family in LE and totally support them. But in all walks of life, there are good and bad people. I have dealt with my share of bad cops over the years, but a VAST majority are good people (even many bad ones just having a bad day...it happens). But I always treated them with respect and even the "bad" ones usually came around.
Complying with LE isn't bowing down. It's part of human nature and realizing that they are human, usually dealing with BS all day and they are in a position of authority. It doesn't make everything they do right. But the crap I see here, as a civilian, I just don't get. Why would ANYBODY want to be a cop? It just makes me worried about the future, especially dealing with law and order. Where are we heading when people and almost say and do anything to and around a cop and they can't (or won't out of fear of losing their job, etc) do anything? And the politicians embolden them by attacking the police themselves? Just know that a majority of people support our police. We just need to voice our support, get out of the shadows and stop supporting anti-police politicians. All I can say is my prayers are you you CPD...God bless!

It hasnt "become" anything. Its always been absolute shit. Many a good trainer has quit it cause the Dept. is shit, they bring in hack trainers who are shit, affirmative action trainers who are shit "shoot fucking elevator doors", and when they do get a good trainer they usually fuck him over because the Dept. is...well...shit!

If I had a range, I wouldn't let cops do rapid fire either. I've seen them shoot the ceiling, shoot out lights, shoot the carriers, all because they don't have the skill to control their fire. Maintenance has to be done. Travel south or wait. I shoot regularly and never had a problem getting into one of the ranges if the others are down for maintenance.
This is horrible to watch as a twenty one year veteran. Did tact for so many years, never have I seen shit like this!!! The bosses who where in charge should be let go, no balls this went from a protest to mob action. Not letting CFD ambulance through??? unfuc-in real. Where are the guys in turtle suits??? Really dropped the ball on this one CPD Exempt !!!!!

No you are not sorry,you are a spoiled 05 year old and a large part of what's wrong today. The north ranges were closed when I WANTED TO GO WAH. I'M NOT driving to the south side WAH WAH,the ranges wont let ME ME ME shoot the way I WANT WAH WAH !

Information that’s NOT posted on your site but that you can share with other CPD in the front lines? Why not have your own “Intelligence” section for confidential reporting? Seems your “brass” doesn’t give a shit about you guys so I wouldn’t expect them to do it.

Ive only seen a few that can actually "rapid fire". Then again I only see a few more that "fire" at all. I see that hole in the Academy elevator has been filled in. I guess only the instructors holes are fixed eh? Maybe the Boss's too?

And still very few were even "locked up". And those that were were then released quickly. The only ones hurt were coppers, cause the same Gold Stars didnt protect them by stripping them of helmets "so they wouldnt disespect the same jagoffs that busted up the legal assembly". Actually it only makes sense that a police officer would want to train in firearm efficiency. It would also make sense thatva range be open for officers to use. The department stopped issuing practice ammo and now the range isn't opened? Looking at the bigger picture it seems clear to me that everyone in this department is in it for themselves and as long as they themselves are taken care of they simply don't care. Sad day. Everyone watch your six.
