They need to make captains so we can get rid of our Lt.
There was a email sent informing current sergeants to get their merit packages together. Union gossip believes the current Lt cheating lawsuit has put a hamper on this current list. This may well be the last class of cheaters promoted from this corrupt list.
Kidney pre announced it for the heads up. I guess you dont need to put the list out because people must know who the 30% are. As far as the 70%, they must know who the "hard studiers" are and wont get left off the list.

I'm sure it will be a very noble group of new Lts. What a sad sad joke this department is.
A message from the superintendent said there will be a small class of Lt’s in the coming weeks. Rumor is class of 7-10. Someone must be extremely heavy that they want made to go through the trouble of a whole class for just 7-10 people. So keep an eye on the merit people in that class.
Ed sent out a pax 501 saying small class of Lts coming. Nothing more than that. So it’s up to you’re interpretation on what small means to him and how long coming weeks are. Basically he’s trying to give a heads up, but he can’t even do that right because his info is so vague that it can mean anything. Is a small class 15, or 20? Does coming weeks mean 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks? Who knows. Why wouldn’t he just put out a message saying we plan to promote 15 Lts in 4 weeks. Wouldn’t that make so much more sense?

There’s supposed to be 3 Lts in each watch, but in reality most districts have only 2 per watch, if they’re lucky. Now throw in furloughs, medical, time off and now you’re down to one per watch and you have to start borrowing a Lt daily. And if you do have 2, that means only 2 days a week when there’s an overlap is there a field Lt on the street. There should be a class of about 50 just to satisfy the 3 per watch standard, but knowing this department it’ll be a small class that will just allow the clouted to move into units.
Yes, Lt AS from MAUI was promoted and they need at least 8 lieutenants to fill her shoes.
This is the first class using the new merit list too. Interesting to see who the heavy ones are that get the merit spots.

Nope, he announced a class was being made so those who are getting promoted can prepare. How can you prepare when you don’t know how many are actually getting promoted? List will probably come out this Friday. If it is a small class which merit will get the slim to none opportunity?

Johnson pushed for 1 Captain assigned to every watch. City balked at his idea so its stalled. Therefore small class instead of large one. Not many Lieutenant promotions left off of this list.
This is real hard to figure out. Subtract actual amount from budgeted amount. There's your number. So have at it.

What’s his idea on a small class? Who is this message benefiting? Maybe the top 5 people who know they would for sure make it, but what about the rest. How does this message help number 5-20? Small class could mean anything. Put out an approx number or don’t even waste the inbox space with your ambiguous messages.

2nd- the dept just did the new “merit” list for sergeants to be considered for the rank of Lt. The last Lt class had the very first from the new list in it.

11 to be made in the class. Class starts Monday April 9 after spring break week. Sgts made early May. 75 sgts.

You must be in K9.
The last Lts class was off the newest merit list...the remaining people on the old list, about 15, were all white so it was scrapped.
The next Sgts. Class will feature the new merit list, old one is getting torn down.

I was promoted and will be taking over the 2nd District tonight. I have worked hard for this since 2010 when I joined CPD. I am not ashamed that I am smart and able to get promoted. I will be Superintendent in two years!

Clown is correct. The one merit will be the sarge from 189 caught dead asleep in his car on a wire/surveillance. Guaranteed. You heard it here first.

Word is that they are going up to right around 200 off of the list. Don't expect another Lts test for at least a couple of years. Sgts test much sooner.
Great. Just what we need. Another batch of white shirts who do less than nothing (if that’s possible) and want ISRs etc. What a joke.
This is real hard to figure out. Subtract actual amount from budgeted amount. There's your number. So have at it.

I just found out that I’ll be the merit Lt in this next class. I just wanted to say thank you all now for helping me to get to this point in my career. All of you who did without a Sgt because I had an early duck. Everyone who had to ask a different Sgt all those job questions because I was unavailable. I wanted to say it now because I will probably be only working half shifts from now on and I won’t have much time to tell you in person. Sorry but I need to leave work early again. Gotta run!!! I submitted my merit packet for Sgt and was told not to bother because they already know who they are making Sgt by merit. How many people get made by merit?
Please stop with the “made it off the list “! Don’t you understand that just because you made it off the list doesn’t mean u made it legit !! The whole thing is corrupt not just a small part of it . Wtf

It's insulting that Allison is in command of anything and anybody. Shame on the CPD for allowing her to get away with this bs for so long. While they are 'protecting' her, who has the best interest of the officers under her that she is spewing her venom on. How is this justified.? What kind of message are the bosses sending? She should have been removed from this position a long time ago. Actually she should have never been in this position. Why was she allowed to have all those complaints from the marine unit and they just move her to another spot where she had the potential to do the same thing (WHICH SHE DID)? Seems no one is really taking the blatant stuff that she does seriously. Now that she has this new law suit, she has rendered herself, yet again, untouchable. The department makes sure that the citizens are treated with respect and dignity, yet we can't make sure that applies to our own from within. It's pretty pathetic and so is Allison for seeming to take delight in making people miserable. What's even worse is that she has recruited the midnight sgt, and M.D., to help her wreak havoc on others lives. Shame on you Sgt PS for allowing yourself to slip to an all time low, you have lost the little bit of respect you had by joining forces with this lady. As for M.D., he is not our supervisor so who cares about him, although we hear he is the voice of the Lt, which explains why things are even more screwed up. I guess we are just doomed as a unit and we have to adjust and accept that we are working for 2 bullies and a TS who are hell bent on promoting their own agenda are ruining what was once a good place to work.

No “secret” study groups, no copies of the test, li LAPA, NOBLE or whatever else and no merit pick. It’s not all corrupt. Maybe you think it’s all corrupt because you didn’t pass... that’s more than likely your fault for not studying enough or not understanding the material. Maybe I got lucky and had a good testing day, who knows but don’t bash 99 percent of the people who didn’t have help or cheat as you allege. If people do cheat, get andwers or copy of the test it’s a small small percentage. Don’t take anything away from the majority which are the legit ones.

Well it’s no surprise that the union got another thing wrong. This list isn’t going anywhere. Not to mention that the IG found no wrong doing. The department isn’t going to get rid of a list just because it “feels bad” about a possible scandal that was never found by anyone to exist. Even though it more than likely did happen it was never proven. If the city isn’t forced to do something then it won’t. Trust me, the list is alive and well.

I respect anyone that actually makes it through hard work and dedication but sorry, no one with any common sense would believe your 99 percent figure. 30% merit, secret study groups, cheating, double and triple merit, your numbers are way off. Don’t turn the blame onto those who are pointing out the corruption in the promotional system, put the blame where it belongs, a broken system that taints the entire testing process and the promotions that are made as a result of it. When people can trust and believe in the process, only then will they trust and respect the results.

Typical supervisor material, I didn’t say all off the list didn’t deserve it . If you think that the entire list is legit you are a moron and command staff material . I made it off the dic test by studying and have no desire to be a Sgt.
I heard Sgt GB from 014 is real high on the list. I heard he's really smart and a good test taker for police tests. No help from Mom I'm sure. I'm dying to see him promoted and the Me to movement will be real excited also.

Dependent on the length of promotion classes, the start date for classes is always the date that allows for completion closest to a pay period.

If you're out of town, and you get notified that they're going to make you a lieutenant, you get your ass back in town. Seems pretty simple to me. Are you really this stupid?
