Taxpayers are being soaked for more and more money for a failing product. Kids can't read, can't write, can't do basic math at their Grade Level. Schools have been turned into grooming factories....
If the Chicago Teachers Union gets its way with the mayor they helped elect, their next contract will boost the average teacher’s pay by half to $144,620 in the 2027-2028 school year.
The average now is $93,182.
Teacher pay rose more than $43,000 since 2012 – nearly triple the private-sector salary increase. If CTU’s demands are met, another $51,438 will be added to the average salary by the next contract – a 55.2% increase.
Taxpayers would be completely justified asking for pay cuts.

Maybe local 2 and FOP can take a few hints on how to negotiate. Our raises don't keep up with inflation. Every contract they sell us a shit sandwich so the members can get their retro check and finance new Harleys, Jeeps and sleeve tattoos. 4 years later they're 48 months into a 19% loan that's 10 years long begging for the next retro.
The fact that Chicago Public School pupils are illiterate and can't add 2+2 is not a failure on the part of the CTU. This is by design and they are highly successful at it. The communist scum of the Democratic party WANT illiterate & dependent people because that's how they retain power.
Not only are the fucking idiots inhabiting Chicago not upset because their children are growing up to be illiterate, dependent cattle but they enthusiastically flock to the polls to elect a handpicked CTU stooge like Brandon Johnson to lead them.
Chicago voters deserve the leadership they vote for. Unfortunately, their children will grow up worse off than they are because of their stupidity.
I'm fiddling with the idea of 55 and out, using my masters degree to get a cps job. I can lie with the best of them to check their boxes. Then just do the minimum while being a thorn in their side and abuse the medical. More for me, and if you are mad because your kid is still in cps, reexamine your priorities
The answer, when possible, is pull kids out of the public schools and then home school them. It solves many of society’s social problems created and nurtured by DemoRats. Not everyone can home school, then send the kids to parochial schools. Short of those two options stay on top of the child’s academic instruction, do homework, and take time to talk your child. Do nothing and the next generation of Marxist serfs will hit the streets.

Not only will CPS teachers get that bizarro raise, but so will CPS support staffers like clerks. Clerk positions are highly sought after positions, especially for politicians' wives.
Chuy Garcia's wife Evelyn ($93K) works as a clerk at the newer Taft HS campus in the Dunning neighborhood while Ald. Napolitano's wife Aimee (1st year, $60K) works as a clerk at Taft's main campus in Norwood Park. Taft is in Nap's ward.

The raise will put Evelyn at $142K and Aimee at $90K in a few short years and each will walk with over $100K pensions though Aimee has a long, long way to go while Evelyn can retire right after getting her monster raise.
This also means Steinmetz HS clerk Ilda Villegas ($96K) will get her salary pushed close to $145K after the raises. Steinmetz has EIGHT clerks for 1142 students while Lane Tech has 6 clerks for 4446 kids and 3304 more kids than Steinmetz.
Gone are the days of the old lady with orthopedic shoes, compression stockings, and wearing oerfume that costs $5 a gallon that take the bus and replaced with clerks driving a BMW and Cadillas Escalades while dining at Gibsons and Maggiano's abd wearing Versace and Prada.
CPS clerk positions are highly lucrative for 7.5 hr days and little to no contact with students.
I went to Chicago public schools in the !970's to early 80's. All I learned was 2+2=5.

I don't care if your kids get an education, especially if they're criminals. Maybe you could homeschool them while you're sitting on your ass collecting other government handouts of our tax dollars. Too much money is spent on people who refuse to better themselves. It's too easy for them to do nothing, and reap benefit after benefit from a variety of social programs. Our system doesn't work. People should.

Say what you want about firemen but as far as paramedics they work their asses off and should be paid more than firemen without a doubt, they are always hustling!
Now CPS Indoctrination centers may are close to empty full staffs, and grooming the kids making boys into girls and girls into boys! Indoctrinating into 1619 project lies and there are so many violating residency laws living the burbs and Indiana (Right Stacy gates?) and no repercussions!
This has to be an easy slam dunk for any real investigators and since they use federal funds the FBI and U.S. attorney could have a field day with this! brandon could save the taxpayers billions by closing the indoctrination centers and putting the kids into other centers but he will not as they bought the mayor election for him.
Once they get rid of selective enrollment the parochial schools enrollment will triple. Fuck the CTU
Per recent article, average CTU teacher is absent from his/her/them classroom almost half the academic-year, without consequences.
Most parents know that a classroom taught by a "substitute teacher" has no educational value for its students, the sub being a glorified babysitter.
"Immigrant" children are being placed on classrooms / schools with little or no bilingual support. Are their test scores included in the Successful G.P.A.'s or are they going to be used as the Reason, The "System" failed again........
close all cps schools.
Eliminate all public aid.
Result....dead weight will move out of Chicago.

No. What the CTU did was amass a lot of political power by putting their fellow travelers in political positions that can help them. There is no need for negotiation skills when you are "negotiating" with your guy. That is the lesson to be learned, an effective political committee who will get police/fire supporting politicians elected.

The savings should then be used to shore up the woefully underfunded police pension fund !
Private High Schools individually Celebrate and Publish yearly, the # of Scholarships, # of Illinois State Scholars, and % of college acceptance. CTU, Please compile your "Successes" for the last 5 years and bring to the negotations.

What job is that? CPS students can barely read or do math. They obviously aren’t doing their job. Yeah, it’s a two tiered system- school and home, but then why aren’t CPS forced to hace parents show up in the equation? Instead taxpayers keep throwing good money after bad. I want a refund not a bigger property tax bill.
So CPS teachers currently work a 9 1/2 month “year” with at least 26 days off during that period - basically making it an 8.5 month “year.” How many of us taxpaying citizens earn $95K per year with 3 1/2 MONTHS of vacation? Yet all teachers do is gripe about how underpaid they are. This pay means they average $11,000+ per month which would mean $134,000 per year if they actually worked for an entire year. And they want to raise that by 50%? $145,000 for 8.5 MONTHS of work? And what do the administrators make? All of those pretentious DOCTORS with useless EdD degrees. There is no bigger scam in recent decades than the “poor, underpaid teachers” except maybe the homeless industrial complex and Democrat politicians.
I have said it before...
"They consistently want "more money for dumber kids"...Teacher's today aren't worth what they are asking for. Period.
For decades now CPS teachers have been graduating kids that can't read and write much less do any math. They can say "that they are forced to do it" but that makes them puppets and not worth another dime IMHO

We need the private sector to take over education, police, healthcare, sanitation, water department, etc...
The private sector is more efficient and more profitable than the government sector.

My wife is a learning disabled teacher. 25 years of experience. Started out in the Southside ghetto. We moved often. Anywhere in the US, her salary is about 50k. The dipshits that she attended college with work at CPS. They all make well over 100k. One particularly stupid chick is a “reading tutor”. Basically, part time. 140k.
My union democrat family and friends love CPS. Yep. They tell me “CPS takes care of the worker”. Hilarious. Who takes care of the taxpayer and their children?

All these "socialists" and "communists" love money. They just hate having to work to make that money. It all boils down to taking money from earners and giving it to non-earners. It's laziness and entitlement in disguise. Not a single one of these worthless fucks would survive in an actual socialist or communist country. Socialism or communism can only work when everyone is equally willing and able to work for their share, and corruption does not occur anywhere in the system. That has never, will never, and could never happen. People are still people, and they'll never all agree on everything.

CPS refuses to give a reporter the school-by-school data on which schools lost, were missing, or had laptops (and tech devices) stolen. CPS claims the information was put together by the CPS OIG, so that information is confidential as it was part if the CPS OIG's investigation.
The rub here is the CPS OIG doesn't maintain CPS inventory, CPS does, and the CPS OIG had to access CPS inventory docs on laptops and tech devices.
So, CPS has the info.
Boy, for comminist/socialist devotees, these ones are sure greedy.
Pass the school choice bill and allow parents to decide where to send their kids. Put these communist teachers in their place.
