Little Late There Nick

This would have been helpful a week or more ago, when it was the hot topic around all the media outlets:

  • An alderman from the city’s Northwest Side has filed a complaint against the head of the independent agency that oversees the Chicago Police Department for comments she’s made about the fatal police shooting of Dexter Reed, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.

According to the report, Ald. Nicholas Sposato of the 38th Ward sent a letter to the city’s Office of the Inspector General criticizing Andrea Kersten, the chief administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, for recent local and national interviews she’s given — including with WGN-TV — about the March 21 fatal shooting of the 26-year-old Reed.

The report also says that Sposato’s complaint calls for COPA’s probe into Reed’s death, which remains ongoing, be turned over to state police.

“Chief Administrator Kersten should not be participating in interviews or comment in memos regarding investigations that have yet to commence,” Sposato wrote, according to the report. “Her comments have led to a tainting of public opinion about the case, and of the brave members of the Chicago Police Department.”

All well and good. But shouldn't this rule about not discussing investigations been in place a while ago? Like maybe when COPA was founded? Like any competent and professional organization would do?

Oh wait, we just answered our own questions. COPA is neither a professional, not a competent investigative agency.

And the City Council? Not them either.

Your "complaint" will go nowhere Nick. Propose and pass a Law forbidding COPA giving interviews to radio stations, media outlets, ESPN (what the actual fuck?), "revrunds" and Jamal. Otherwise, you're just blowing smoke up everyone's ass.

Maybe it's early for the next OIS.

Nick is a friend of the police. As we all know it's kinda (extremely) rare, literally everyone especially politicians hate the police, so let's not burn bridges and criticize and pick apart the minor small things of our allies. Some action is better than no action. Or even worse, action that is police hating. Chicago will NEVER become a Republican city despite our wet dreams, so let's keep the minuscule handful of police support that we do have on our side.

These so called "pro police Alderman" are full of shit. They try to convince the voters by doing theatrics.

Alderman Ray Lopez wants to name a dog park in honor of Ella French. Now that is nice. You know what would be nice also? That you push the city towards funding our pension. I live in his ward. I went to see him and asked him to specifically stand on the floor of city council meeting and propose the city and state fully fund our pension. He gave me a long winded answer.

The problem with COPA is that the politicians have given this group a blank check to do whatever they want. These “INVESTIGATORS “ by Illinois State Statutes are not supposed to be conducting these types of investigations. So, you have an unqualified group handling things that are supposed to be handled by state certified peace officers. Anything they do regarding police involved shootings is tainted because they’re not qualified to conduct these investigations and that’s not my personal opinion it’s outlined by state statutes.

I mean seriously, who does shit like that and what did she gain by going to the media and telling them that had Ella been alive she would have taken a suspension? Seems like a calculated action to serve two masters, appear supportive of police, but file complaint only after media attention is diminished.

COPA is another city agency in desperate need of outside law enforcement investigation. Though given its politically-correct progressive agenda, unlikely to occur during Biden administration. COPA is presently shielded from criticism, though its administrators seem mighty comprised, both ethically-speaking, as single-agenda publicity-hound progressives, and in regards to PPP loan fraud, well, apparently prone to overt financial fraud too.

COPA may yet make Dexter the next BLM saint.

Can't even get the streetlight poles replaced on Irving Park Road in front of St. Pascal's. Either he needs the office to feel important or he is double dipping, collecting fire pension and alderman salary at the same time. Oh, he's a firefighter. Don't criticize him. That is what we have IAD/BIA for, we should not be judged by civilians because they do not follow the Law, nor the rules. They have never worked in a beat car, they have never been involved in stressful situations like the police have been in, they do not actually understand what a police officer goes through day after day. All they are doing is Monday morning Quarterbacking every thing a police officer does, so they actually are not qualified to judge us. No one is monitoring COPA's decisions they just do as they please even if it violates our rights. I'm about to hit 28 years on the job. OPS, IPRA played more fair than COPA. COPA was created by LORI and we know what she thinks of the Police. I would hope your view of excessive force is much different than what a civilian would consider excessive force. So, do you really believe we should be monitored by civilians ?

Spot on!!! Sposato has better hours than banker hours. Former worker says he's picked up and driven to his office at 9:30-10a by one of his workers who's sole job is escorting him around. They say Sposato spends most of his time reading the paper, texting, eating, and watching the Channel 9 news or game shows. Jeopardy is on right before quitting time at 4 pm for Sposato. He never misses a photo op, especially for things he wasn't involved in putting together.

Another one of his workers keeps people away from him and is called office nazi by ward residents. She answers the phone like she's at home. "HELLO." Then you have to ask if you called the 38th ward office.

Sposato gave away a brand new school in his ward to Taft HS to get a sweetheart pension deal from Rahm after Taft self inflicted an overcrowding problem. He had a few town hall meetings where he personally gaslit and steamrolled any opposition with CPS insider Jim Dispensa (Patrick Ďaley Thompson campaign manager).

Only 11% of elementary kids in his ward attend Taft and they have to wait until Norwood Park or outside neighborhood kids are accepted for Taft's 7th and 8th grade academic center, IB Program, Navy JROTC program, and Special Education program.

My favorite is he kept collecting donations from restaurants to feed National Guard working the COVID testing center at former Emissions testing spot across the street from Norridge after they were gone. All leftovers went to his office and every day for months it was the Taste of Sposato in his office.

His residents have pleaded with him to press state to get the emissions testing spot reopened as the closest testing spot is in Skokie. Sposato does nothing and says, "That's the state for you."

Sposato's racist rants are all over social nedia.
