Tourists might actually return to Chicago....and instead of being victims, might start assisting drive down crime rates:
In a powerful statement over the weekend, President-Elect Donald Trump reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the Second Amendment by announcing his push for national concealed carry reciprocity.
This proposal would mean that concealed carry permits issued in any one state would be recognized in all 50 states, allowing gun owners to travel without worrying about crossing state lines with their legally owned firearms.
A driver's license issued by a state is valid in all fifty states - and driving is a privilege, not a Right.
So a CCL - a Right listed in and protected by the Constitution - ought to be valid in all fifty states.
Illinois recognizes exactly ZERO other CCL permits from any other state. If Trump really wants to f#$% with democrats in Illinois, California and New York, this would be a great start.
We'd have to arrange visits to the morgue to look at the surprised faces on all the corpses that would start rolling in after the first week or three of National Reciprocity.

The papers keep posting stories about how arrests are made because someone with an out of state CCL was caught with a firearm in their vehicle (ie Mr squad car impersonator) but if their lawyer actually knows the wording of the law they can get that charge dropped...
(e) Nothing in this Act shall prohibit a non-resident from transporting a concealed firearm within his or her vehicle in Illinois, if the concealed firearm remains within his or her vehicle and the non-resident:
(1) is not prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm under federal law;
(2) is eligible to carry a firearm in public under the laws of his or her state or territory of residence, as evidenced by the possession of a concealed carry license or permit issued by his or her state of residence, if applicable; and
(3) is not in possession of a license under this Act.
If the non-resident leaves his or her vehicle unattended, he or she shall store the firearm within a locked vehicle or locked container within the vehicle in accordance with subsection (b) of Section 65 of this Act.

I have been retired and refuse to get IROC. I carry my small revolver at all times. I just don’t give a shit. I carry the five shot so I don’t leave casings “ insert smile”.

Retired in Tennessee from Chicago, and had a CCL to legally care in that shit hole state ! So now if I travel to Illinois I will have to leave my conceal carry behind even tho I have an enhanced CCL from the state of Tennessee ! I could still be criminally charged if caught carrying in this Socialist democratic shit hole state ! Illinois is without a doubt one of the most corrupt Democratic states in America ! As an addendum - in OK, the castle doctrine/stand-your-ground has been expanded to,
"Anyplace a person has a lawful right to be."
That means you can light up an offender not just at home but at work, in your car, at the grocery store, at a restaurant or just walking down the street with your dog.
I’m not sure it would increase visitors. After all, getting screwed after using your 2nd amendment rights is guaranteed. I hate having to carry a gun. I’d rather vacation in a place without entitled, brazen hoodrats.
My sons visited this summer. Walked all over the lakefront tourist areas and never want to go back. It will take a decade to change the “lawless” perception.

My state is Constitutional Carry. Without LEOSA, traveling to Illinois would be an enormous pain in the ass.

National Reciprocity is long overdue, however even with it, I wouldn't go downtown in Chiraq.
The Amish tend to travel in packs, armed with 30 in the mag and with a variety of firearms ranging from rifles to glock handguns - some capable of automatic fire.
If they want the car, they can have it. But since I don't feel like dealing with the whole process of procuring a new one, insurance, depreciation, etc. then I'm just going to avoid the whole Chiraqi-controlled area.

The reality is, most people visiting or traveling through Illinois from FREE states already conceal carry in Illinois. No FOID cards and no Illinois CCL since they cannot obtain them. They ignore the asinine Illinois Communist Laws and believe in it is better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
Stay out of the Florida tourist areas and come on up the NW Florida panhandle. It is great here. Lots of rednecks who love the police. Everyone has a gun so no one pulls them out. But watch out for the drunk drivers, them country boys make some strong bug juice.

The Trump administration is going to codify all laws that apply to constitutional rights. No state will be allowed to enact different laws regarding speech, firearms etc…

I don't know about you guys, but I don't vacation in places where I need to be armed at all times. "Visit Chicago, bring your gat!" does not sound like a wining tourism slogan.
