As the civilian body overseeing the Chicago Police Department prepares to consider major limits to when and why the city’s cops can stop drivers, one member of the group is speaking out against the effort — and she’s not mincing words.
“I believe the entire argument for restrictions is built on a faulty premise,” said Sandra Wortham, one of seven members of the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA).
The panel recently concluded a public comment period on traffic stop policy. But the group has already said that a majority of its members favor banning stops for a host of violations, including expired plates, broken lights, and loud sound systems. Wortham is squarely not in the majority.
CWB has what looks like the entirety of her dissent with the other members of the CCPSA and it is an eloquent, well reasoned, and completely logical approach to Police being allowed to use every tool in their arsenal.
Maybe she'll run for office at some point?

Sandra Wortham is not only a nice person, she's smart and she's a class act.
She has my votes if she decides to run for office

SPECIAL people don't want 5o follow laws.
It still seems like yesterday that her brother Thomas was killed. I remember seeing her at Christ Hospital with the rest of the family and remember the sick feeling in my stomach over the circumstances. One of the other offenders was brought there as well and created quite a tense situation that a cop killer was brought to the same hospital as a mortally wounded officer. Mr. Wortham was able to end one life that evening in defense of his son but this fool lived because her survived the surgery that Thomas Wortham couldn’t. Cruel. That girl saw a lot that evening and survived and made it through. We are lucky to have her.
She has ALWAYS stood on business and backed common sense policing and policy. She is an extremely smart and capable speaker, she continues to do her brother’s memory proud.
Driving in the city even Ray Charles would be able to see how big the A-holes are driving, blowing lights infant of fully marked police cars, speeding past them as well. No plates are becoming more and more obvious, CDL drivers also drive like royal A-holes, we are at the verge of a breakdown in civilized society. The laws of the jungle are about to begin the law of the land, I'm sure accidents are on the rise. Death and destruction are a Libtard's paradise, remember the old saying "keep them fed, and entertained" that will keep them from being the truth and revolting.
Besides Ms Wortham, this "commission" has nothing but progressive aholes on it. I was at one of the FIRST meetings they held to hear public comments about the possible traffic stop recommendations and EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM(not wortham) expressed they were NOT in favor of stopping people for minor violations. Their minds were already made up from the beginning of this whole process. Jesus could have given his approval for these stops and they still wouldn't agree. These are the clowns given power to help dictate police policy. WHAT A JOKE
Bless her indeed. But we’re past the tipping point here. CPD by and large is rewarded for doing as little police work as possible. 5 years from now you will need a sergeant’s permission to conduct a traffic stop.

There are sane and reasonable people in this city. They just aren’t as loud as the ones with all these goofy ideas that end up hurting minority communities further. What a F’d up idea that if you are a POC you don’t want a lawful and peaceful place to live- as if the police are your problem.
Sandra Worthem for Mayor. For she and her wonderful family to live through a nightmare and handle it with grace and dignity is a testament to extraordinary character. She is a treasure.
Power. I believe they can fire a police officer even if the Supt recommends a suspension. Thats power
If you go on CCPSA‘s website you can read the minutes of their meetings. It’s the ACLU, plaintiff’s lawyers, and BLM who are pushing this.
The .. only... 1s driving like that are from the ghettos of the west and Southside. Being oppressed is the cause of driving like an ahole.
Maybe the city should throw more tax payers money at those most generous people who drive like shiiiii aka nissan altima girls, to fix their driving skills and ability to be in compliance.
Yes my heart hurts for her still that’s a tough thing to deal with
